  1. Calzaghe had a reasonably easy career though mate its not about age its about miles on the clock............You only need look at Calzaghes face and Froch,s face to see which one has been in gruelling tough punishing fights where you leave a piece of yourself in the ring and theres only so many times a fighter can do that.....any fighter. I dont think a peak Froch would have too much trouble with Groves but he,s just past that peak now and theres only so many times your heart and grit will get you out of trouble.
  2. Personally i think this is a bad fight for Froch.......sometimes time catches up with you real quick when theres a young hungry opponent you cant quite work out in front of you.........Dont get me wrong Froch is a better fighter than Groves and has far more in his locker...........but " once too many times to the well " and all that...........ive seen it so many times, training camp go,s well, you feel great, look great..............but then all of a sudden the hard wars that have all taken a bit out of you over your career are making this fast moving, super high energy young fresh opponent look l
  3. Fo the simple reason that he hasnt achieved anything yet...........the big name in this fight is Haye not Fury........thats if we,re talking about a name within boxing not just a loud noise !.............I dont like all this wwf style bollocks ....some fights dont need to be sold they sell themself........ How does beating Haye do nothing for his career ......It would be far and away the biggest win of his career.......Haye is the one in a no win position if he beats Fury people will say Fury wasnt up to much anyway.......and due to his age and the fact nobody really expects Fury to win he c
  4. Its pro boxing not scrapping in a field for a carrier bag full of notes !..........Pro boxing will never have winner take all bouts and rightly so.......these lads are out to make a career and pay the bills like any other profession you cant put 12 weeks hard work dedication and financial outlay into something with the possibility of no payday at the end of it..............but that said.....you still got to keep your own expectations realistic and Furey should be grateful to be getting even 33% at this stage of his career.
  5. A lot of folk are saying boxing.....but boxing is a very different type of fitness as you are absolutely peaking your body for a 36 minute contest twice maybe three times per year.......tennis players dont peak to the same level but are playing a match up to 3 hours every few days for a tournament like Wimbledon.........then again footballers/rugby players are extremely fit as are marathon runners triathletes etc......its an impossible question as an athlete is as fit as his sport needs him to be.

    Tip

Not really into the gee gee,s but just had a bit of a punt got 25/1 .............Like anything Lanesra.....if you know things most people dont......i,ll make you a rich man
  7. I thought he retired a while ago Had a meal in his company some years back after he lost to our Nicky Cook....real warm and decent fella.......seemed a bit of a religious nut ......but good chap anyway and a good fighter in his day....best of luck to him.
  8. Its not a case of yes sir no sir.....its a case of knowing how to play them......you either want problems or you dont want problems..............if you dont want problems theres a way to deal with them, without arse licking but without acting up...............its a simple case of knowing how to deal with people....and this kid/man whatever he is clearly doesnt know how to deal with situations with plod quickly and efficiently.
  9. Plod wouldnt lose no sleep over a harmless fool like that its hardly a notch for them to take down the " mighty youtuber " is it !...........The silly prat doesnt realise that 9 out of 10 people straight or crooked will be sitting laughing at him !!
  10. Absolutely right.......the ironic thing about that clip is it would seem the fella has educated himself on the law for one of two reasons.........either to stay one step ahead in his dealings with plod......or maybe he,s looking for a career in law.............my guess would be the first one. Yet the reality is most people who live their life with the possibility of coming into regular contact with ol bill usually drop that " all coppers are b*****ds " nonsense some time in their early 20,s !!.......Once you,ve been around the block a few times you tend to keep your dealings with police to th
  11. Absolutely.....sometimes common sense is the best judge
  12. My knowledge of tennis isnt all that .......but would Murray be regarded as better than Fred Perry then ?.....if Murray never wins Wimbledon i mean.
  13. Couldnt agree more.............im of the opinion if Murray doesnt win Wimbledon this year he probably never will.......what is he 27/28 now so close to being past his peak......i think it will be a shame if he doesnt as he,s so far above any other Brit for years......just unlucky to be born into the era he was.
  14. don't worry mate I still think your a c**t.............. I wouldn't think anything else mate.... Lol never let it be said you dont make friends very easily......lol infact your probably on par with.......................RFYL........................ I liked him...:-) I did he was quite funny i'm gonna bring him to the fishing comp then your all f***ed he's caught marlin dont you know........... Is he driving down in his small porsche? Was that the geezer who thought he was the bees knees because he had a flash motor and a tidy richard.............i
  15. Collins beat Eubank twice and Benn twice. I reckon he's a bit old to make a comeback now. Both of them were finished by the time they fought Collins............And he was finished by the time Calzaghe came round......so all things considered he got off quite light .........Infact the only top fighter i remember Collins fighting at their peak was Mike Mccallum and he got beat.
  16. I would think Joe Calzaghe would consider himself in the same calibre as Eubank/Benn yes............and we have 3 or 4 world class heavyweights today where we had 1 in the ,s................ As for Tyson/Hagler.....well personally id rate Floyd Mayweather far superior to both of them in terms of skill and ability.....not as exciting as Tyson no but different strokes for different folks. ...............How is pay per view a members only club its a free country you can watch what you like if you want to watch then pay if you dont.....then dont........no different to anything else really.
  17. What a f****n prat !................Obviously never played the game......anyone whos ever had to spend time round ol bill would of been polite answered a few questions, gone away and got on with his day.............this div obviously thinks he,s a rebel because he knows some long words............having just done a handbrake turn !!!!
  18. Heavyweights dont need to make weight....hence they dont have to draw themself down in weight like most fighters do.....you want something to work off during a long hard fight,a welter or middleweight etc cant do that as they are already drawn down.....hence why the fatalaties and serious injuries we have seen have never been at heavyweight..............Furys condition is proven by the fact he can fight at a good pace for 12 rounds it doesnt matter what he looks like visually everyone shapes up different you dont need to look like Charles Atlas to be in good nick.
  19. Eubank ended Watson , and Benn ended the yank, he is blind now mc somthing or other, gnash will know is name. Regards Eubank jr he ok but not in the same class as his old man, has'nt got the power for 1 thing, the old man was stronger at the same age as his son. Gerald Mclellend...........................I think the Eubank kid is too manufactured.......looks like he,s been fighting in front of a mirror all his life..............if the Billy Joe Saunders fight ever comes off i think we,ll see him in a proper slugfest.....and personally i dont think he,ll have the grit his ol man had
  20. The sport itself hasnt changed at all theres still exciting fights and exciting fighters.............the way boxing is sold to the public is whats changed........back in the ,s anybody could watch boxing on normal telly for nothing, even those people not fully into the sport could watch it..............pay per view tv means only real boxing fans are going to fork out and watch it......................the sport was the same, the way we watched it is what was different.
  21. Yes because mma fighters are in so much better shape than boxers http://blog.betdsi.com/get-the-smelling-salts-out-tuf-16-starts-in-september/roy-nelson-2/ As regards Furey......IF he has said he wants %.....and i dont really believe he has.........................then its a bit like walking into a job centre saying " I want this forklift truck driver job but i want 100 pound per hour ".................what you are actually saying is " I want to get my name out there but i absolutely do not want this job "

    Wanyama

I dont know enough about him to have an opinion either way........but in fairness its good to see a player willing to scrap it out in the Championship he must have enough confidence in himself to think a Premier league club will snap him up or he would have stayed where he was id imagine..............one to keep an eye out for anyway
  23. gnasher16

    Wanyama

Nope....nope......your not going to do it.... .......I cant even tempt you ?.......Top player in the Jock league to English championship ?.....Come on you know you want to
