I was a fighter who wanted to be a footballer......my son was a footballer who wanted to be a fighter....between us we both f****d it all up Boxings in my heart i lived it and still love it today and still keep a foot in the door.........but id say im probably a bigger footie fan i dont know.......footie i cant sit still and have my heart in my mouth most of the time ( as well as my head in my hands with my lot )....cant really split them to be honest mate.

He won the aba,s at middleweight but as a pro he was a light heavyweight......Bodell was a little bit later anyway the ol man retired in 61

I wouldnt get too excited you didnt miss much .............had an average amateur career.....my ol fella being a former britsh champion helped when i turned pro as it gave me good connections......suppose i was a decent young prospect at one stage went unbeaten early on but i was found wanting when i moved up in class and in them days life was all about money for me so i became a paid sparring partner.....mixed it with the top names of the day in Britain......this was when being a sparring partner was a good career in itself,today they call them journeymen opponents............anyway unforese

Never seen that Johnny i knew he,d done a few bits on tv but never actually watched them thanks for posting that ........Yep,he,s good at connecting with kids i asked him to do a few similar talks at the local clubs to me he was there in a heartbeat and never accepts payment.......he,s a genuine " make the best of it " story and definately leaves youngsters with positive thoughts.

Mark fought the same as he lived....a bit wild.....he had a lot of attitude back years ago wanted to fight anyone who looked at him wrong,kids by loads of different birds.....typical ghetto type off the estates.......................................his son got stabbed to death and it changed his whole outlook on life,started going round schools and boys clubs etc doing all anti knife crime talks and he,s actually a very decent fella these days so it shows we can all make positive changes no matter what we are up against......still says the hardest fight he ever had was not killing the man who

An old comrade of mine has just got his boxing licence back after being refused by the bbboc last year......at the grand old age of 44 !.......He had a good career until it was cut short by a family tragedy which even then he turned into a positive by going round helping young people in the area......he,s an allround good lad for a crazy yardie type nutcase ....keep an eye out for how his career go,s names Mark Prince he,ll be coming back as a cruiserweight all being well......seen him sparring Cleverly and a couple of other good lads recently he,s looking well for an old man.........just go,

I love the proper Greek nights all that smashing glasses caper.....im not a beer drinker i like a drop of wine i dont think ive ever even had a bad meal,i must of done 20 of the islands over the years and never had a bad meal thats some going really......I love digging out some of these tiny family run restaurants in the back end of nowhere ive had some of the best meals ever in them.........parts of Cyprus i really like as well but the Greek Islands are where i intend to spend the future years between football seasons ..............Yep your the same as me mate i cant be doing with all the En

Im starting to like Furey he,s quite a funny guy......whether he,s trying to be funny i still havent worked out .......I heard an interview earlier where he said he was going for a nice 4 week all inclusive cruise and then coming back for 6 weeks hard training for Haye..................like we,re all going to believe he,s only having 6 weeks preparation for the biggest fight of his life !!..................Ive never liked all the war of words between fighters its often cringeworthy desperation to sell a fight......but at least Furey does it tongue in cheek......least i think he does it tongue

You could spend a lifetime going from island to island and never see them all......i have a list of " nexts " as long as my arm ........ " Ferrys ".....i wouldnt call most of them much more than rowing boats !.........Even took a small private plane out of Rhodes Town once it didnt instill confidence when the f****n thing would start......but then what do you want for euros . Rhodes i got pally with a greek fella and his english bird he ran charters with his top sail schooner Paid the first day but. I can sail old boats he invited me and me bird out every day foc. Great time on rhodes
