I thought you was just obssessed........you are totally f****n besotted
-
Thats easy for you to say you aint gotta watch it every week Its not a case of wanting to see attacking football but you do expect a team of highly paid professional footballers to compete !......Mourinho is right its a terrible advert for the Premier League being the best league in the world.......Its all well and good people saying West Ham are only a small club, but compared to who ?.....Compared to Man Utd,Arsenal,Liverpool yes.......compared to Doncaster or Leyton Orient we are a massive club !!......I went down the Orient the other week ok the football wasnt on the same level but it

Dont know if your aware Pete but theres this new invention out...............its called the motor car
-
Must admit your enthusiasm is infectious Pete i love reading your tales Hopefully not long and we,ll see some pics.
-
Thats an interesting point......being that was when it was 2 points for a win as well............cant say as i ever remember a time before now that West Ham have gone out with absolutely no intention of winning the game......maybe im being naive i just dont remember us doing that before. Im no tactical genius having never played the game properly but ive asked a few folk who have played at a good level and i still cant get a straight answer i wonder if any of you chaps who have played can throw any light on it...........when a team is defending a corner for example with 11 men behind the ball

what you+ me had gnash ,and what I was brought up with as kid, are worlds apart to staffs of today , different temps+ physics to a staff Ive never owned one mate or ever wanted to but i know there was a few decent ones about years ago.
-
How true is that !!............I dont think i was ever 100% satisfied with any dog i ever owned whether i bred it or someone else did............ Today folk seem to think a dog is brilliant because its theirs, therefore worthy of breeding.
-
Be honest Stan...have you ever seen an exciting game that is a basic training exercise of attack against defence ?......Its like 2 fighters where 1 just wants to survive and is not actively trying to win.....its a non event.........i dont find acceptable at all it defeats the object of what competetive sport essentially is.....but thats just my opinion like
-
Way above 70K and there is the C&B package, covers money towards rent/healthcare etc You are right though Switzerland can be expensive but the lack of taxes and the availability of good paying jobs (take the wife, she get's a shitty job earning 50k ) that's you and yours sorted if you're prudent Edited to add this is not in Geneva or Zurich so the cost of living is much less, 70chf would be more like 50-55k Yep im sure your right i didnt look too deep into it to be honest.......i remember someone telling me a basic checkout girl in a supermarket will get the equivalent
-
While i wouldnt consider myself a " born again " football nut as ive always been a football nut......i can totally see what you mean ive noticed it as well ....first season syndrome i reckon Then again i suppose the easy thing would be to just not click on anything football related.
-
Personally i find 99% of them repulsive i dont think any single breed of dog has changed more in such a short space of time.... today most of them are bordering on being a " toy breed " not a " terrier breed "......i guess its each to their own and naturally folk will be happy with what they have if they have nothing to compare to but if you remember the breed from years ago and have an ounce of honesty you couldnt fail to be dissapointed in the majority of specimens today, physically and mentally.......just my opinion like.
-
Its worth keeping in mind the cost of living in Switzerland compared to here.....property for example is ridiculous.....i looked at flats just outside Zurich a few years ago rentals were fetching 4000 francs p/month works out around 350 quid p/week just basic 2 bed flats its a very expensive place to live so while 70k sounds good dollar its probably the equivalent to staying here and earning 40k !
-
Im no fan of Mourinho but he,s absolutely right.....its anti football !......At the end of the day sport is about competition......when 11 pub league players can get a draw with 11 of the finest players in the world something has to be wrong surely ?.....Football,boxing,rugby....its hard to beat somebody who is not trying to beat you. Besides which,do fans not deserve more......we took a good crowd last night and near everyone i spoke to had the same attitude....." id rather get relegated than watch this shit every week ".......the difficult proposition we have now is do we hope to stay up (
-
.......Probably wouldnt give you the time of day in this life never mind the next life !
-
It couldn't have been drawn better for me with a winnable game and top teams playing each other, yes pal meeting United would be great be even better if we knocked them out in the semis again. 150/1 Wednesday !!.....Gotta be worth a cheeky little tenner aint it ?
-
Heard that earlier what a load of ol bollocks eh !! Not sure now......i mean its only Sunderland aint it
-
Bet you Sheffield lads are all fired up at a chance of a derby quarter......semi......or dare i say it.......final !! .......Hope yous go through anyway good chance of a smaller club picking the trophy up this year with te big 4 all meeting each other next.

If it go,s to purse bids Groves will be in a good position....a far better position than he would of been if he had accepted Hearns offer......if he wasnt confident of beating Froch he would of taken the offer but he has taken a confident stance..... Mik if that bet was to me i normally never refuse a bet especially for charity but ive been bitten once too many times betting with folk on here
-
This " offer " was only put to Groves because Hearn/Froch knew the Ibf were about to demand a rematch....which they did 2 days later..... A.To get their clauses and conditions in. B.To make it look like Froch is pursuing Groves.........But Groves was a step ahead !........ One of the clauses was an immediate rematch if Froch lost.....another was that Groves is tied in to Hearn for his next 3 fights.........The 1 mill offer was simply because they knew Groves wouldnt accept those conditions and it would look like his bluff had been called...........Groves is carrying himself with confidence

While its clearly not a nice thing to do we have to accept that not every country has the same value on animal life as we do......." id break her back with a sledghammer " ...." stone her to death " bla bla bla.......people in many countries would do that for a crime against a human,we wouldnt......who is right us or them ?
-
Following the club closest to where you grow up shows an affinity to the area and regardless what you do or what you make of yourself in life that should never leave you in my opinion. Ive noticed over the years following England at different tournaments you get in chats with different lads from different areas as soon as you hear a northerner say he,s a Chelsea fan or a cockney say he,s a Utd fan they are just not taken seriously.......not by me i,ll talk to anyone about footie but it is a subconscious thing ive noticed with people over the years.
-
I completely understand that......when we was kids and you asked another lad who he supported he wouldnt say West Ham he would say The Avenue or Leyton some little local non league team......it was just taken for granted he was a West Ham fan that never even came into it..... we would go over the Avenue as kids until the ol bill started letting us bunk over the wall into the Boleyn at half time thats when you became a man
-
I dont know whether its an area thing or a generation thing......when we was young if you was off the estates or schools local to West Ham and you didnt support West Ham youd get the shit kicked out of you ....same as Millwall or Spurs.......maybe its different in rural places where theres not clubs all on top of each you can take your pick who you follow.....a kid round here saying he supported Chelsea would get a hard time let alone Man Utd
-
ol yeah thats a fair point never thought of that....how does that work with you rugby boys as far as following your local team ?
-
Just out of interest Max was you brought up in Sunderland ? You must be at least 20 odd miles from Sunderland id of thought Middlesbro and Hartlepool must be nearer you ?
