  1. Totally agree.......all this bollocks you hear and see about supposedly tough hard men who can bash anyone up and aint scared of nobody......................and then you see a skinny little wretch like Geldoff who has more about him than most ........any man who has the guts and moral fibre to bring up kids alone deserves all the praise he gets, his own kids let alone someone elses as Geldoff has.............i cant stand him for what he started with all that Band Aid caper.......but as a man, credit where its due.
  2. I think next season will be the make or break for Moyes i cant see a club with the class of Utd binning a manager that quick......first season he,ll be given a break but if theres not big steps forward in the second season the clubs just too big to be patient.
  3. Working away from home is a young mans thing if you ask me,later on in life you dont have the carefree attitude and courage to take a chance like you do as a youngster......i spent a year travelling round America in my 20,s i had the time of my life.....ok getting punched in the face for a living isnt much fun but the experience of meeting different people through working away is much better than meeting different people travelling as a tourist as you compare similar lives giving you ideas to come back with......The hardworking hero attitude some folk have is complete nonsense not everyone ha
  4. Such a silly naive comment to make..............what is happy ?......material things ?...................money buys you nice things and puts you in a nice position........but without family/friendships/relationships you dont have happiness................. Its one of the oldest sayings in the book ... " The best things in life are free "
  5. Mule 1943....make sure you get it sussed mate....pictures are essential on this section of the forum..........i was on here 6 years and never posted a picture till i got into the birds .....................hope to see some of yours sooner rather than later

  8. Thats great news.....have faith in the upbringing you gave her mate shes obviously got the brains of her mother ... combined with the survival skills of her father she should do just fine .....as has been said with todays communications Japan is not as far away as it used to be,it might just as well be Scotland you still wouldnt be able to just trot along and protect her.................but i can understand your apprehension. A pal of mines son has got a job at Sony designing computer games he go,s out to Japan in a few months.....different worries with a boy id imagine but us being all
  9. Call me old fashioned but when it comes to a death im of the opinion that if you got nothing good to say then say nothing.......... Barely heard of the girl myself but any young life lost is a tragedy regardless of the situation.
  10. Went to a tribute today at my old club Repton, this time last year saw the first post match boxing fatality in the Uk this century......Michael Norgrove was a nice lad from a nice family who came into the sport late on and showed good promise winning the novice London aba,s before turning pro.........went into his 6th fight unbeaten but the fight was stopped in the last round and Mike was taken to hospital with a bleed on the brain and tragically died 9 days later...........while i appreciate nobody on here has likely ever heard of him it doesnt hurt to do a good deed now and then so if anyone
  11. Thats because the biggest thing in a Scottish football fans season is watching England............not like they have anything to talk about in their own game is it.
  12. If your on about what i think your on about i stopped going years ago......too many posers and wannabes puffing their chests out
  13. Like Sam Allardyce, you've got to be happy with where he's got you on a near non existant budget? Y.I.S Leeview He made the 2 biggest signings in the clubs history............one has spent 90% of his time injured the other has spent 90% of his time on the subs bench.........happy with the position yes but we,ve finished mid table plenty of times before playing much better football with much less money.......so swings and roundabouts i guess.
  14. Thats the spirit .......it go,s against the spirit of the race to have a " must earn " attitude if your not betting on the gee gee,s regularly. Tell that to the bookies.. that "must earn".. im happy taking their money ... easy lol Nah not for me.......if i HAD to make money from betting i wouldnt bet !..............in for a penny in for a pound is my attitude
  15. I always thought the very first season Arsenal didnt qualify for Champions League that would be Wengers time to go.......be ironic if they finish 5th but win their first trophy for years and he stays i wonder how that would sit with their fans. Liverpool brought some blinding support today, thought they was lucky to take all 3 points but id love to see them go on and win it now....going to be some game next week v City.
  16. More the merrier if you ask me....i can count the chaps i know in the bird fraternity on my thumbs so depending where you are in the country jjm your welcome to what you like of the excess i breed......if i manage to breed anything that is
  17. As a pure boxing fan the York Hall is hard to beat for atmosphere.......as a fighter its near impossible to beat for atmosphere......but for casual fans and the football crowd who just want a sing song and a knees up its probably not the best venue as it only holds less than 1500 people..........the atmosphere is within the place itself, even the walk up the steps outside gets your pulse racing................part of the atmosphere as a fighter is that you are trying to live up to whats gone before you, within a mile of York Hall is at least 3 top pro gyms and 3 top amateur gyms so the area brea

  19. Obviously there still is a dress code at the dinner shows but even at York Hall you wouldnt dream of turning up in t shirt and jeans i dont remember there being doorman as such it was just generally accepted that you turned up respectful.....Shoreditch Town Hall,Royal Albert Hall the old Wembley Arena i dont ever remember people turning up in vests and trackie bottoms....................maybe its a sign of the times we live in eh !
  20. e/w bets on long odds always worth a go at the national been a fair few 33-1 and 66-1 placed over the years ... What i mean is the majority of folk who bet on the national are not everyday punters earning off gambling...............so why try to be clever just pick a name and commit to it......thats the bet !
  21. Never understood why people who have a punt on the national have each way bets.................just go for it commit to having a punt if your not an everyday gambler.
  22. Definately mate.....i hate it......i dont really know why it is........its almost as though the gentlemans noble art respectfullness is being replaced by yob culture................i remember a time when you wouldnt see women at boxing anywhere in the country, today theres as many women as men its a bit like football i suppose as in its become a bit trendy to have a night out and a sing song/knees up at the boxing......where years ago like i say around ringside would be full of ex fighters and well known faces of the day.......................like anything i suppose its bums on seats that matte
  23. It's hard to believe hammers are finishing mid table. They were playing pure shite before xmas. Went and watched them before xmas my in laws local team. To be fair I no big SAMs not popular but he has don't not to bad with the players he has. The board prob done right thing sticking him out for the season. We still are " playing pure shite " .....its just that now when we play pure shite they give us points for it
