If you say so .....not sure i really get it to be honest.......or infact want to......how anyone can enjoy losing is beyond my logic. I thought he was sent home for being TOO professional ?......he was the captain and wasnt happy with the preparations far as i recall......again,a player like Keane has a winning mentality he,s not interested in going to the biggest football tournaments in his sport to show what a great time he can have i totally get that......didnt he tell Ferguson he was going over there to win it so why stay on an island that doesnt even have a football pitch....

Just shows how important topping the group was.....France,Spain,Germany,Italy all on our side of the draw.......Wales have Switz,Poland,Croatia,Hungary etc on theirs......i thought at the time that last nil nil would cost us.

Eubank Sr. Was He Right To Say That ?
gnasher16 replied to dark-destroyer-85's topic in General Talk
As is often the case what he,s saying is right......its just not his place to say it !..............i actually think its quite cruel what he,s doing Eubank knows the kid is not going to be top notch and is doing some kind of reverse hype job thinking he will be getting one over on Nigel when the kid fails......which in my opinion he will......theres a nasty streak running through that man in my opinion.. -
From a boxing fans point of view the differance between Duff and the Hearns always seemed to me was hype...all promotors hype fighters...just Duff came across more interested in making good fights ...just take a look at the middleweights i grew up with like Sibbson Minter and Finnegan...they all fought the best...all 3 fought and lost against Hagler (Finnegan lost to him twice in 6weeks both times on cuts)...and then look at the Hearns first big star Eubank snr...who dodged all the big names in the division and as i remember it gave up his WBC belt rather than fight them...yet years down the l

What people fail to realise with Eddie Hearn is he isnt doing anything that the likes of Mickey Duff/Jarvis Astaire/Barret etc were not doing before him......he,s just A, better at it than they were.....and B,he doesnt hide everything behind closed doors like they did.......so he,s a bit brash and cocky so what.......whatever he is doing is working as the sport in this country is bigger and more successful than it ever has been.......the questions he gets asked publically Duff,s answer would of been " get the f**k away from me before i set my henchmen on you ".......yet Hearn gets penalised fo

" Jealous ".......jealous of what ?......if yous go on to reach the final too right i,ll be jealous......not all sports fans see sport as a popularity contest mate Roy Keane has a winning mentality which i like, admire and understand.......i dont like admire or understand this smiley drunken Irishman mentality at all but its certainly nothing to do with jealousy......i,ll have a laugh and a giggle with anyone but i take sport seriously and would see absolutely no glory in being a loser but " loved around the world ". Jigsaw has just said Roy Keane doesnt have a sense of humour because he ha

There you go 5 ft 5 thats alright plenty of good little lightweights and featherweights out there........thats the thing with Socks you see because he,s so fat he thinks its acceptable to call himself a heavyweight at 5 ft 6 !!........and those things he calls " special shoes for the vertically challenged ".....most of us just refer to as high heels ! I would never of asked such a question if i thought you was hung up on your height by the way im nosey but not a complete div !
-
Yep i get what you chaps are saying about just grateful at being there and anything else is a bonus......but surely once your there you want to represent yourself as sportsmen not good time guys who like a beer i think thats what Roy Keane was on about......i just wanted to know how he is viewed by the Irish as i find him an interesting character with an outlook on competition much like my own thats all.

36 waist? Aye and I'm 5' 10 If its not rude to ask Johnnyboy how tall are you exactly ?......for as long as i remember you have taken flack on here over your height.......sorry but curiosity has got the better of me !.........dont do it in old money if its that bad.....1.6 metres always sounds more than 5 ft 2 no comment but his heights starts with a 4 haha oh shit.....if he,s a legitimate midget then forget it i apologise

We,re back over there Sunday right down in Nice this time im told its still only 24/25 degrees at the moment ?.....from what im told the French people big into footie are from the cities and rugby from the suburbs i dont know how true that is.......ive been to a lot of tournaments over the years and must admit for atmosphere and general " footballness " its certainly not the best.......even the fan parks are dead !.....a lot of French folk we,ve spoke to feel the terrorist threat has played a big role in the sombre and quite often downcast mood of the place....which i guess is understandable.

No dont get me wrong mate im not knocking the spirit of it......Ireland never had the football hooligan culture we had here in England and Wales so i understand they dont get that......i do agree with Roy Keanes views on a losing mentality though its not something to be celebrated ive been to a million and one games and never found any joy in losing......like i say maybe he,s just seen as different over there im not sure ?

Lovely happy healthy looking little family........not sure about that whistle though but im an old traditionalist........and theres you trying to bullshit me that your recent weight loss was for sporting purposes you slippery little f****r

Much as its nice to see fans with a smile on their face and enjoying their football this " worlds most popular fans " act does become a bit tiresome after a while.....personally i think Roy Keane got it just about right when he questioned why they would celebrate losing.........ok we get it the Irish like a drink and a singsong.......but essentially sport is about winning and losing the whole smiley Irishman thing does wear a bit thin after a while......or maybe Keane is just too competetive for the Irish is he a sporting icon over there or not i dont know ?

Why together stronger? Sounds like one of the catchphrases Cameron keeps rattling off every time somebody asks him a question It's just a slogan, it just says that fans and players have a unity. In Wales we tend to get behind our teams be that in rugby or football, what I can gather a lot of English can't wait to slag there team off, so not such a bad slogan . They make me f****n sick to be honest all these silly c**ts lapping up the Premier League every week but then sit their scratching their canister wondering why it dont work like that at International level !.....all the pretend pa

Its the same in any sport.....as a fighter its hard to beat an opponent who is not trying to beat you.....how many times do we see sides like Arsenal have virtually 90 minutes possession of the ball but cant break the other side down.......nobody can force an opponent to be more ambitious if their mindset is to just dig in and survive.
-
I think folk have underestimated just how important winning the group was.....if im not wrong England could now face Portugal then France then Germany !......my plans were to stay in France if we topped the group as we would of played Saturday but now playing Monday instead i couldnt face staying there all week the place is so depressing 90% of the country im sure dont even know theres a football tournament on they just havent entered into the spirit of it at all i know they have other problems at the moment but even so.....good luck to the Welsh i think they,ve done ok,personally i dont think

How do you know do you know him ?....or are you just going by what you see of him on a football pitch ! I agree mate its an important thing to us but its not to some cultures its hardly a hanging offence is it.....im simply making the point he is apparently a very generous, loyal and good guy to those around him.
-
So what we doing now judging a man by the way he treats his opponents.....or by the way he treats his family/friends etc As a sports fan what do you prefer a winning mentality whos a bad loser.....or a losing mentality but who loses in the spirit of the game.......i know what i prefer.
-
Good......who wants to see a player happy and content with failure.....i like his desire and will to succeed without it he probably wouldnt of got where he has.
-
Met him in Leicester Square in the 90,s what an arrogant nasty little c**t i had to just laugh and walk away or id of been on the front of the paper for punching his teeth down his throat the saucy prick !.......still,not sure id wish serious illness on him though he just stuck in my mind thats all.
-
That looks quite a laugh theres a few people i wouldnt mind sticking in that seat !

I thought the Wales game would of been an injustice if we hadnt won we were far and away the better side,i like the way we,re playing i just wish we would play at the same pace as we play in the premier league......Rooney is playing well and seems to of found a position that suits him i just wonder if its at a cost to the rest of the team though as we seem to be building up from the back at a pace that suits Rooney rather than what suits the team we havent seen the best of Kane or Alli and maybe its because they play in a fast moving Spurs side and we,re playing slowly.......bollocks though im
