  1. My understanding was he got sent home for being TOO professional and not being happy with the fact that the island chosen to prepare for the biggest tournament in world football didnt have a football pitch !......along with various other things. All time best player thats not for me to decide i,ll take your word/opinion on it
  2. Just makes sense all round dont it Baz.......i was in the company of someone quite high up in British boxing a while ago and put it to him........the answer i got was no promoter would risk the mayhem of a fight not going ahead once the paying customers were in the door should a fighter miss the weight. You could still have a weigh in the day before, what would be the difference then? The difference would be a welterweight on the scales and a middleweight in the ring.
  3. Just makes sense all round dont it Baz.......i was in the company of someone quite high up in British boxing a while ago and put it to him........the answer i got was no promoter would risk the mayhem of a fight not going ahead once the paying customers were in the door should a fighter miss the weight. You could still have a weigh in the day before, what would be the difference then?Because that gives the naturally bigger man more time to put his weight back on which is unfair IMO....I mean a weigh in the day before and 5 to 10 minutes before the fight, that way if they don't make weight the d
  4. The floating ribs at the bottom you can break without really knowing it but normally the higher up you go the more painful it gets......along the bone itself the closer to the sternum or the spine where the bones thicken out the longer healing will take......most of the pain is not from the break itself but all the connecting tissue and muscle etc Ive broken a number of ribs myself............................and had some of my own broken as well .
  5. Players are not paid for playing for their country but i get your drift........tell me.... if someone came into your factory and told you they was going to give you 50k per week for driving a forklift truck would you say " no sorry im not worth that much i,ll stay on 400 pound per week thanks " ?.......again i get what your saying i just think its such a convenient finger to point we know they are overpaid but thats not the reason they play well for their clubs and not their country.
  6. Thanks for explaining mate really interesting......sorry one last question.....would a breeder also raise and " train " a bull.... if thats the right word.....and if so what go,s into training a bull and how much of it is instinct ?.......they look awesome animals im probably more interested in the bulls than the matador i always root for the baddies in films Bloodline wise i presume like dogs a breeder would stay within his own strain and outcross when necessary same as dogs i suppose.....what are the physical qualities they look for beyond power and aggression do certain bulls have cert
  7. So you feel the likes of Rooney/Ali/Vardy etc etc are simply not very good footballers....is that what your saying ?........you think as individual players the Iceland lads are better than the English ?......if thats the case why do you think it is that the top clubs in English/Spanish/Italian football havent snapped these Icelandic guys up ? Do you think managers like Mourinho/Ferguson/Wenger just dont really know what they are doing by picking English players instead of Icelandic players to play in their teams ?
  8. So Bryan......if these bulls are purpose bred for their own specific qualities it would suggest there is value in them....is there ?.....and if so who breeds/sells them and who buys them.......is the income generated purely by spectators ? It must be hard for a breeder who has put effort into producing a certain quality of animal see it intentionally put to its death like that.....are there certain breeders whos stock is used within certain areas or would a prized bull travel the country type of thing ?
  9. And tonights homework is......" sobriquet " and " demarcation "......keep them coming Mackem its always good to sling a long word in now and again it keeps the ol woman on her toes For what its worth i think Gaz has got it just about bang on i think when you hunt/fish/compete with animals you cant have a foot on each side of the fence in terms of whats acceptable and whats not.
  10. I dont think body type has anything to do with it these lads are all highly tuned athletes these days performing at very low bodyweight as they are surrounded by dieticians sports scientists etc......players like Bale/Ronaldo yes are tremendous natural athletes but thats just a speed/acceleration thing for the most part players are physically quite similar its quite obvious to me these England players suffer some kind of mental block when they pull an England shirt on.......why that is we can guess at all day long but i dont think theres any doubt that players like Ali/Kane who performed fanta
  11. Your right they wont ask him....but if they did i know for 100% he would tell them to get f****d......and rightly so.......i must admit i think Max is right whether you want to call them yes men im not sure......i would call them society darlings.........people who will put a happy healthy light on football in our society........and it go,s right through our game look at the way football constantly has to " represent " controversial issues in society.......John Terry as an example.......like him or loathe him he is the best central defender England has produced in 50 years........but he called
  12. Just dont be tempted into them short shallow little breaths make sure you regularly get your lungs fully inflated the last thing you want is fluid building up.......and keep active........wish you the best mate its no fun.
  13. Just makes sense all round dont it Baz.......i was in the company of someone quite high up in British boxing a while ago and put it to him........the answer i got was no promoter would risk the mayhem of a fight not going ahead once the paying customers were in the door should a fighter miss the weight.
  14. Theres nothing private going on Stan the lad makes sure of that.......he wants you all to see so it is your business. But yes,the first thoughts of most proper people ive ever come across would of been the same as yours im sure.
  15. Because ive never been a stranger to violence and dont shy away from it means i dont have to travel to another country to find trouble if thats what im after..... and its quite often a bit more scarey than Russian lads in short trousers and white trainers Like ive said before.....we dont all need the safety of our internet shield to confront people..........only an observation.
  16. Usually the kind of grown man who has never had a fight in his life .
  17. Talking of humour.....did anyone clock the Hodgson press conference when Martin Glen said " i don't know much about football but...........bla bla bla ".......this is one of the most powerful men in English football responsible for selecting our next national team manager !!!.......unbelievable........as if Hodgson wasnt slippery enough trying to do a quick dash after the final whistle with a " im outta here " mentality we then have to suffer the indignity of a fish finger marketer,a few estate agents,a female Jamaican barrister and Roland Rats inventor telling us how they will be giving the m
  18. You dont seriously think Briggs is going anywhere do you mate ?.........has he really sold himself to you ?
  19. My reason for sipping Pimms from a balcony and watching football, instead of running round the streets like kids.......is that we went over there to sip Pimms from our balcony and watch football......we ran around the streets like kids......when we were kids......i got football hooliganism out of my system years ago as you could of done if you had been up for it. You see Max i dont look for trouble and antagonise people i have absolutely no intentions of facing up to.......now tell me,whats your reason for antagonising people you have no intentions of facing up to..... going to such lengths
  20. WTF has greyhounds got to do with boxing if you want to make a comparison to dogs a game bred conditioned pit can go for 3 hours Yes but do they have big muscles that fill up with the dreaded " lactic acid "
  21. Was he blowing ?....yes of course he was he was in a fight......was he flustered ? yes of course he was he was in a fight. Did he fall apart and lose shape, distance and concentration ?.....not from where i was sitting no.
  22. .....and you say you have conditioned dogs !!......" big muscles fill up with lactic acid "...................what are we back in the ,s before people understood H+ and muscular ph.....Max you are aware of the way that protein is made up of " acids " and the way refined carbs effects ph arent you....C02 is a by - product of carb metabolism your body gets rid of it by breathing.....so unless big Josh stops breathing i wouldnt worry too much about lactic acid. Once again......people want to find the most absolutely irrelevant tiny detail to worry about to give the impression they know more
  23. Wouldn't be surprised if he never fights fury tbh. In fact would be surprised if fury fights againWhys that beacuse of the fake actuations from one newspaper no official Boxing associations No because nobody is interested in the rematch really. The first fight sucked. I'm not even sure fury is interested I disagree i think fans of boxing are much more interested in this fight than the first one.........this one will tell us whether Klitchsko is/was washed up and the actual level of opponent Fury beat.
  24. Although i agree people do say some silly things about big Josh at times......gym stamina is not the same as ring stamina mate im sure you know yourself.......ive seen lads do 12 hard paced rounds in the gym that come the fight were on empty after 7 or 8......adrenalin,heat,nerves,the occasion..........will all eat into your fuel tank come fight night.......when you hear a corner telling a fighter to relax its not just to settle into the fight its so he doesnt burn up stamina controlling your breathing is so important in a fight.
  25. FIghts have always been lost on the scales its nothing new.......its the amount that fighters can now drop.......and that just go,s hand in hand with todays understanding of sport science and nutrition you cant stop progress you have to bring new rules out to compliment fighters evolving in a sport thats standing still in my opinion.
