Id like to think they did though I very much doubt it Gnash . Even if they did they obviously didnt learn from it the way England managers have been humiliated since !....Taylor seemed too nice a guy to fire back at them as well its a nasty unsavoury habit our media seem to get away with.

The value of the Mayfield dogs was in the blood not the dog as a competitor..... id go as far as to say some of the best dogs the Uk ever saw carried a decent proportion of Mayfield blood a chap out in South America who still uses the blood today at the highest level of the sport always had a great analogy he said the blood is like the flour of a cake recipe.....on its own its worthless but the end product is built on it...... Tudor/Mayfield were some of the most important dogs and dogmen in the breeds history in my opinion.

At first i was probably a bit star struck and just listened to him but i soon realised i probably knew more about athletic conditioning than he did !.....but he had a really interesting and often simplistic attitude to conditioning so yes although i knew physical conditioning he knew dogs inside out and about how a dogs body responded in relation to feed/work/rest etc it wasnt difficult to imagine him being top notch at what he did in his day. Ive heard a lot of people say the same but Don wasnt like that he just loved to talk dogs i rang him many times asking different things i remember praying for him to finish his sentence so i could hang the phone up knowing the mrs would be on my case when the phone bill came in ......hIs wife was more aggressive than any dog he owned a few times i forgot the time difference and she would shout down the phone to call back at a decent hour.....as for old man Reid nice fella that he was there wasnt much advice he could give anyone to be fair he was just in the right place at the right time with t

I didnt have you down as old enough to remember all that.....the trouble is Don did go a bit nuts in his later years i put it down to all that shit he smoked some of the claims he made undone a lot of the good he did for the game but nobody ever has or ever will get to the truth of those old boys and their dealings so i tend to judge on documented records and on records alone Mayfield had few equals.....they all peddled dogs,hung pedigrees and generally conned people and each other so you just have to use your eyes and your understanding of dogs and pedigrees to make your own mind up otherwise

By the way ive got no problem with blacks,browns Muslims,Hindus anybody i dont book myself any better or worse than the next man regardless of colour/culture......i can understand the interest in other cultures and other races i have that interest myself ive been to many places around the world and done my best to embrace the people and get into their cultures but i dont want to live and share my life with them......and why folk would want to learn about religion or culture from some waif who refuses to live in their own country i find totally bizarre ( with all due respect to Axium and others

The irony of that phrase is its a phrase that a very small section of lads of my generation will be very familiar with via a man who was cast aside as an evil old nutcase in John Tyndall and i see this type of irony every day i remember Tyndall being absolutely lambasted by British society for encouraging us youngsters to familiarise ourselves with Jean le Pen,s FN party saying they were the benchmark for us to aspire to........British society wanted to hang him for it..... yet today we have these silly Ukip prats telling us how Le pen and FN is now the way to go ......i dont kid myself i know
