  1. Its right near Oakham apparently.......on the map it looks like this place is in the middle of an island !......its a part of the country i dont know at all so once off the A1 i,ll be lost..... ok Stamford i,ll keep an eye out cheers.
  2. Anybody live near on know anything about this place ?.....the mrs used to visit family there as a kid and been on about going back there so booked a hotel for a few days she reckons i,ll love the scenery round there but i dont fancy wandering into the back arse of nowhere i just wondered if anyone knows the area and any popular walks/country pubs etc ?....its a little village called Hambleton.
  3. I dont say so..... 99% of people who have ever been in or around a combat sport do. Anyway f**k all that the lawnmower/sheep scenario is a much fairer contest my moneys on the sheep nature over technology all day long.
  4. At what ? Under what rules ? Here we go round the mulberry bush
  5. Its called adaption and every generation does it i remember my ol man constantly saying " it aint like it used to be ".....you just have to stay true to yourself i didnt grow up around hunting/wildlife/countryside whatsoever but having found it later in life i,ll never be without it again in some form or another but i wouldnt push it onto my kids or grandkids as its a different time and they must be left to find their feet if somethings right for them they,ll find it like i did.
  6. I dont really know anything about the bloke i know he,s out of Canning Town so he,ll be no stranger to fighting and confrontation they always make me laugh these type of programs where people play at fighting like its a hobby you cannot build 10 years of fighting fitness in 10 months......when you have had a lifetime of fitness/sparring etc you develop a certain body type that absorbs punishment in different ways to other people i dont know how old he is but a few repetitions of whacking sticks across his limbs is not going to prepare him for the mental and physical stress of living a fighters
  7. And its taken you 8 pages of arguing for it to finally sink in Not sunk in, your still bleating on about boxing, yawn. You have now agreed with the very thing you have spent 8 pages arguing against its hardly my fault your bored ! Not agreed on anything, the question is still the same, who would win if the both used their own set of skills? ... Wheres the f****n chuckle brothers !! Who would win what mma or boxing ?.......to me to you to me.
  8. A boxer cant grab his opponent the referee will call break is he does........an mma fighter can go to the ground get in a clinch and stay there for minutes on end before the referee will stand them up.......the only real way a boxer can sneak a breather is on the move an mma fighter can literally lay down and rest his bodyweight on an opponent. He will call break but a boxer who gets hit and feels it certainly grab ons mate to save getting ko'd. For a few seconds not minutes at a time like they can in mma......a solid punch will go right down to a fighters feet he will have no strength in his
  9. yeah what would i know. Ive found a lot of people who dont know what to say next just have a pop instead of explaining themselves Not having a pop but to think that groundwork is a rest shows you don't know what your talking about I'm sure you are quite knowledgeable on boxing but you obviously aren't on mma Who said anything about groundwork ? not me.......you are completely missing the point the rules of mma indicate that you are allowed to tie up an opponent and stop them from working you are not allowed to do that within the rules of boxing.......how good somebody is at doing
  10. Had exactly the same thing,i can understand his feelings looking back but i think paying the local hard nut to move me on was a bit strong I didnt really do the over protective thing with my daughter i found the initial look/introduction told him everything i wanted him to know.....thankfully she never picked a bad one.
  11. If i ever found out someone had spoken to my son like that id leave him wherever i found him f****n idiot whats wrong with some people !
  12. yeah what would i know. Ive found a lot of people who dont know what to say next just have a pop instead of explaining themselves Not having a pop but to think that groundwork is a rest shows you don't know what your talking about I'm sure you are quite knowledgeable on boxing but you obviously aren't on mma I wouldnt claim to be knowledgable on mma ive never competed at it......ive done a bit with lads who have competed in it just to see what its all about and while we wasnt going full on its enough to gauge whats what.....but you simply cant argue with the rules......a boxers on
  13. Every pubs got one of those gormless boring fuckers whos only means of being paid any attention is to say silly things ! I,ll keep an eye out cheers......just looked him up and he has a twin brother at Leeds as well called Romario !.......you reckon their father was a fan of Bazilian footballers by any chance
  14. What a ridiculous thing to say.......a boxer who is wobbled and under pressure is not allowed to clinch and hold its against the rules of the sport. An mma fighter who is wobbled and under pressure is allowed to clinch and hold an opponent for as long as he wants he wont get stood up until the opponent stops working........these are not my opinion they are the rules !!

  18. Whats the name of the Leeds kid your on about mate ?.....i always thought Houghton was a good manager i quite fancied him for the Hammers before Superslav.......nobody understands Max mate i wouldnt worry......and Lanesras right Carrols goal was brilliant timing/technique he had a good game and can hopefully stay injury free for a couple of weeks now !
  19. Jack was also lucky not to have a point taken for hitting after the bell. You can normally tell by whos happiest with a draw to see who probably edged a close fight and Jack looked genuinely gutted whereas Degale almost looked relieved to get the draw......i had Jack nicking it with the last round i dont think Degale boxed with his usual confidence and movement.

  21. " harder ".......what is harder ?.....a training camps a training camp.... a fights a fight. In terms of punishment/injury far more boxers have been killed or seriously injured than mma fighters and the reason why is very simple logic.
  22. And its taken you 8 pages of arguing for it to finally sink in
  23. maybe not vast but think he got carried out on few micky duff undercards, , iv a few vids of nash he looked well untill he got hitYou piss off i was knocked down many a time but never out cold competitive or sparring. got any video of your best fight gnasher? If don't mind putting up or someone else doing so I was fighting in the ,s mate ive got a few old vhs tapes tucked away somewhere but nothing worth bragging about a few lads made it big out of our gym Bruno/Mason/Kaylor/Hussein/Jimmy Mac but most of us who started out with a bit of hype behind us ended up plodding out a career as sparr
  24. From what ive seen the top 4 clubs in the championship are head and shoulders above the bottom 4 clubs in the premiership this is the biggest difference in class ive seen in years between the top sides in the premiership and the bottom it was always part of the attraction that any club could beat any other but this season it seems the top 6 or 7 are miles in front of the middle 6 or 7 who in turn are miles in front of the bottom. As for Jermain Defoe we need to be setting our sights higher than him just because we made him who he is doesnt mean theres any allegiance he,s done well wherever
