I was given a dog before that was classed as a failed fox dog (collie/ghound x bull/ghound)and i gave him to a friend of mine because he wouldn't settle in my yard with my other dogs, but the lad i gave him to worked him on rabbits for a few months during the day and a bit of lamping but not much and 1 day he came out with me doing a bit of digging and when we broke into a fox and removed the terrier this dog drawed the fox like a seasoned wheaten and this gave my mate a taste of this sort of quarry and he start coming lamping foxes and from then on that dog was killing fox single handed no bot

Naval expression for swinging a "cat of nine tails" or whip to you. NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH FELINE ACROBATICS.........JEEEEZZZZ Swampy punishning I know that mate it was only a joke ,i'm no fan of cats but i keep a couple around the stables to keep the rats and mice down but only feed them VERY little to keep them interested in the vermin and i have never swung any around by the tail and i wouldn't let anyone else do it either

People have being swinging cats for years, where do you think the saying came from ,not enough room to swing a cat

Was out lamping one night in a few cow fields and the bloke i was with ,his bitch had just caught a rabbit and he was bending down to take from her and this young bullok came stroming up behind and bucked him right in the arse,i could see it about to happen but it was just one of them time you couldn't get the words out of your mouth quick enough to warn him ,but it was funny as fcuk. then i was out with the same lad and an other one another time and we came to a fence that was high tension barb wire but i could see the black plastic conections to the post so i let one of the other lads c -

fairplay for sticking to your guns with the pup ,but the answer to your question would be if a working bred pup had an injury bad enough to finish it's carer before it's starts the most of us would think it would be better to have it PTS because most of them might not have the ability to work but still has the drive to want to.sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind and there is plenty of substandard working dogs out there that would suit a pet home that will happily live as a pet rather than a dog that has to live as a pet and wants to work, hope the pups comes right for you and get to catch

should be a decent litter hope they turn out well for ye -
Pure bollox not even bull xs in that pic that is fcuking years old, these c'unts come out with some shite,is all propaganda to get the normal joe soap to pick up the phone when they see lamps in a field or if their nieghbour keeps a bull looking lurcher ,these sort of stories should have to go to some sort of expert before being published and the RSPCA are no experts or any other anti blood sport organisation ,them fcuker's just want to slate every working lurcher owner so the public will inform them about every thing the see a lurcher doing

lurcher330 replied to poacherman's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I bred a litter of whippets a few year ago, there was 5 pups in the litter and i had all intentions of keeping a bitch pup back for my self but after some thought i i decided my hunting activities were leading me to bigger game than my whippets were suited to and i all ready had 2 whippets and decided i had enough in them for some ferreting and bushing rabbits,so i gave the pup i was gona keep to a friend of mine and sold the rest. the 1st pup i sold for 150 Euro and i went and bought 150 euro worth of advocate and milbamex wormer the 2nd i sold i went and bought a new lamp ,i had a clue ligh -

I have had the same happen to me with a dog ,he even went blind for a while but this dog was very hard on himself didn't do much work the night it happened but he would tire himself out from pulling on the slip alone but from then on i made sure he was super fit and when i would take him out i would bring a few biscuits or something with me and give him the odd one after a few slips just to keep his sugar levels up,hope he comes back to full strenght for ye mate -
