    I always use a free running weight when ledgering as @DIDO.1said just a split shot about a foot above the hook to give it the length. Wait until you start spinning then it will be hours spent going through all the types

    I am with jigsaw on badgers as they should be shot not have dogs put on them, people forget the old timers did it to dig and relocate the brock not get the dogs smashed up offf them or to kill the badger. We all have accidents out with the dogs but it’s up to us not to put any more bad publicity out there

    I go in the club ponds and our river stretches regularly for a swim, can’t beat the cold water to get you moving

    Siskins will do better in the aviary all round as well not just getting them feeling secure enough to breed

    Micro barbs are good as well for worm or maggots and less fiddling about unhooking. Barbless you will lose more worms and that and lose more bites
