  1. Under 20 are playing again tonight, BBC2 Wales 7.15 TC
  2. Selvedges are normally added to hand made nets, to make the nets more durable, amongst other reasons. If you have sheet netting it should have a selvedge already attached. TC
  3. You would not have to take an orange to bed with her thats for sure. TC
  4. Zebrano comes in many different shades and colours, from This to this TC
  5. As the name implies zebrano is a striped wood I have used it for a couple of crooks not bad to work with and a cracking finsh when polished. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT4nJfi-_7bd0tdQ7_ZRJNmREkYog2chrcP9v3BnkcwBxPhginz TC
  6. Yep he lives down the road from me. he also likes his trout fishing. See him on the village brook with a spinning rod often. TC
  7. More than half the work with using long net or stop nets is placement, get the placement right and you are almost home especially in the day. I see photos of people setting a hundred yard net along a hedge with big fields each side of the hedge and think to myself 'what a waist of effort' when a couple of 5 yard nets would have done a better job. No rabbit is going to run out into a open 20 acre plus field, and by a juditious placement of yourself you can direct the rabbit to run up the hedge into the waiting stop nets. It's not rocket science just good old common sense. Take this field,
  8. Good thinking robin, seriously though there is nearly alway a way if you think about it. The shortest drop I do is in a gateway on compacted hardcore I made a trammel to fit the gateway, then barred two holes 8" deep each side of the gateway. I usually do the drop about once maybe twice a year the hardest part is finding the first hole, never thought about sticking anything in it to make it easier to find The second hole is easy as the net will only stretch that far. 9. One of the reviews. Needed to chop up a tree! 23 Nov 2013 By XdiyER , London "So I bought this, used it for an hour, then could not get it started, took it back, money back!" 4 of 4 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?Yes|No|(Report Review) Share this Review: Think I'd give that one a miss. TC
  10. Thats the thing though, Samson is thriving on them, I did hear a romour that it was his fitness levels that were letting him down, virtually the same as Adams were in the begining. Adam worked really hard to get his fintness levels up and if the romour is correct it could be just a matter of time. It is no secret that the scarlets pack are having a great season and in no small way is Samson contributing to that. TC
  11. Rhodri Jones as been touted as Adam Jones replacement when he finally hangs his boots up, Rhodri as a far better all round game than Lee and is in the team for that imo. It's not very often I do not agree with you Johnny your rugby knowledge is vast. But, Rhodri is #3 choice at the scarlets, the Welsh scrum did have parity with the Italians till he came on then we went backwards at a rate of knots. Granted Samson is not the fastest prop around the field but he can scrummage and scrummage well, better than Rhodri by a country mile. But, like Bigger if your face don't fit, your kept hol
  12. During the 70's and 80's there were urban myths doing the rounds on how to stop a dog that was hard mouthed. From filling a balloon with vile tasting liquids and covering it with a rabbit skin. to skinning a hedgehog and wrapping it in a rabbit skin. the good old days. TC
  13. I don't think there is a definitive answer to you question, there are so many variations that can cause a dog to become hard mouth. I had a whippet greyhound essentially 21" that most of the time would kill the first rabbit, after that they would all be alive to hand. Yet if he caught a hare it was mangled there was not a rib left whole. I had a collie Greyhound 24" who never killed a hare or rabbit in her life, yet would pile into a fox like a dog possesed. I think a lot to do with it is the size of the dog if they can pick up a live rabbit without it struggling too much then that helps.
  14. Had just seen it, and was coming to post here.lol. Just the three changes, Paul James drops to the bench for Jenkins, Andrew Coombs in for Charteris and Sam in for Tiperic who drops to the bench. Scarlets Jake Ball makes the bench and Charteris is out. What I cannot understand is Rhodri Jones's inclusion he is second choice behind Lee at the Scarlets. TC
  15. 2.8; Your own avatar actually reminds me of what's dinging on the back of my mind, as I read all this. While the average predators hearing is pretty acute, their sense of smell is astronomical. Everyone, this side of the Atlantic, jabbers on about trap location and baits. Yet, I virtually never hear about Scent Lures ~ beyond a bit of fox piss. The Yanks are past masters of all this. They're still teaching their children ways that we forgot over a century ago. Trap location? Hah! Those guys routinely set a 'Gin Trap', deliberately, so that the fox will put his right or left, fr
  16. The ones normally used are GRP extruded glass fibre and resin. Just try grinding a point on them you itch for days. TC
  17. Bob, As I stated before an inherant problem with splices is, without a means of locking the splice they will come apart especially the polypropelene braid you have there. They usually part when gentle pressure, not enough to close the braid is applied. if you are going to splice your lines it will pay you to do as Joonsy does and add a few stitches to the splice. That is one of the reasons I no longer use splices if you have to get a needle and thread out, you might as well sew them in the first place. A good compromise would be to sew the lines together and the just tuck the loose end
  18. Is this the type of thing? Palmless Gloves TC
  19. The nearest to you I can find is on this site. http://www.haverford.com.au/twine.html# Twisted nylon they do have 210/18 but only in white. Spun nylon Hope that helps. TC
  20. 6z is 210D/18 with a z twist. If I am not mistaken the Denier is a unit of measurement for nylon, 210D means that the yarn weighs 210 grams for 9000 meters so 210D/18 is a twine made up of 18 strands of 210 denier yarn. Whereas 210D/12 is a twine made up of 12 strands of 210D yarn = 4z. TC
  21. I liked that Bob because you are giving back, when you started you asked all the questions, now you are well down the road you are giving back. That is what it is about. If every one does that then netting will never die out as it will always be passed on, some things will be lost true, but new ideas will be added so it will always evolve and carry forward. TC
  22. Surley, he can claim of the other parties insurance, or is there more to the story? I thought excess was only if your making a claim on your own insurance when it is your fault? As the other driver is at fault he should not have to pay any excess? A car wrote one of mine off parked outside the house and I got the full value of the car. Puzzled TC Edited to add: That is if the other driver was insured? If not he can claim through the courts.
