  1. They look stunning! Think I've got the same mincer as you, could you get a quick photo of the front of the mincer with the funnel attached for me please? I wouldn't mind giving this a go. Cheers Luke
  2. Her recall is 90% perfect, its been instilled into her from a young pup!! Usually when people state that the dogs recall is 90%, what they really mean is the dog will come back as long as nothing interesting is happening.... as soon as theirs a distraction then the dog ignores the command. The more you train a dog, the better the obedience and manners. You'll be able to stop them jumping up and also be able to recall from a distance. Best thing to do would be to get to some dog training classes where the teacher can work with you and the dog together. If the classes are too ex
  3. Whatever he likes, the keeper can't hear anything from the landrover with the radio blaring, besides he'll be tucked up in bed by 10pm...
  4. Tess had very straight pasterns when she was young but as she grew and put on more weight they've now settled into a more normal angle. I'm sure as your pup puts more weight on they'll flex a bit more.
  5. Thank you all for the positive feedback Trying to lamp, film and slip the dog all at once is damn near impossible!!! but once the dogs loose then you can concentrate on the filming again. Their taking the third cut of silage next week on the estate so the lads I go out with will be hitting it hard straight after so she'll be running from the back of the truck again. Should get a chance to get some decent footage this time as I won't be lamping. How's Tyke doing? hope your both well? All the best Luke
  6. Maybe they think the quicker the catch the better the dog??? So a Greyhound would suit them down to the ground. For all we know they might be looking at all the vid's of dog's on the Fens and laughing when it takes 4-5mins to catch one Hare?
  7. Basically the smaller air rifles/rimfire rifles etc are more likely to be shot at there extreme ranges than a centrefire rifle so it's seen to be 'harder' to shoot accurately. Shoot an air rifle at 20yds and most people can put pellets through the bullseye but take it to 50-60yds and it's a damn sight more difficult, having to adjust by 6-7inch's for height and the same for a slight cross wind. Same with the rimfire at 50yds it's fairly easy so it's seen as easier than an air rifle to shoot but at 100yds you've got the same trouble as you did with the Air rifle. With the centrefire, 100yds
  8. Probably Hares that have never seen a dog before so just presume they can simply out run them?
  9. The Fawn's at the bottom of the tree in that first Vid. When the Doe starts stamping and walks past the tree, you can see it. I'm amazed the dog took that sort of punishment in the third vid... Why didn't it fight back? or even run away??? Maybe I'm just used to working dogs?
  10. thats 3500.000 acres ,three and a half million acres and only five little elephants we have seen these offers before sorry mate they cover such a large area we cannot find them ..................unlike your fecking wallet I don't think he's saying theirs only five Elephants in 3.5 million acres, just that he's got permits to cull five of them.... I'm sure his trackers could probably put you on one within a few hours of getting there but to make it more exciting they'll drop you down the tracks by a day or two so you've got to track/hunt in to it.
  11. 6' is easy as long as they are running and scrable at the top. If the dogs scrabling to get up then they can go a lot higher!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Qc7ZbKq1no
  12. Roo started jumping out of our garden which is surrounded by 6ft fence panels. Up till then he hardly ever jumped and had to have gates opened for him if he couldn't squeeze under (unless behind quarry), I just copied what we used on the pheasant pens and nailed some 18"x1"x1/2" battons to the top of each post then cut a 1 metre roll of chicken wire down the middle and attached it to the battons. He probably could of pushed it out the way if he really wanted to but it was enough to deter him trying again.
  13. Very much like yours Lurcher330, she was never the prettiest but used to work pretty well. Poor old girl can't do much now, although she still enjoys a mooch about.
  14. I found resting the Cam on top of the lamp works best if your on your own if thats any help.
  15. Few unusual ones I've come across. Bia - spirit of force, power, bodily strength and compulsion Jager - Hunter in Dutch Stix Ark Must admit I do like Loki
  16. Young, No. Inexperienced, yes. Inexperienced bunnies for an inexperienced Dog I'll give her any extra chances/help I can to make sure she succeeds for now.. Plus of course the main reason.... They taste so good at this time of year!!!
  17. It's a sony Handycam DCR-SX45E if that means anything to you! It's got a 70X zoom, intelligent auto scene selection (it knows if it's inside/outside, night/day etc.) and a really good anti-shake mode... Should be able to get some good footage I hope, just need some more practice with it!
  18. With the wife at work and little'un sleeping over at a friends I thought I'd nip out with the dog for a bit and test out my new camcorder. Not much about and only managed to get one run fairly clearly on film, it's a damn sight harder than you think trying to film and lamp at the same time!!! Bit more practice and I reckon I'll be able to get some half decent footage.
  19. Martin you lucky, lucky, bugger!!!!

have you sorted out the dog passports or are you just going to get dogs while you're out there? were not taking them when we first go but yes looked into and if i stay for a long time wil defo be taking my dogs over I've just got mine a passport. Cost £150 for the rabies jabs, blood tests and passports. They have a blood test 2 weeks after the rabies jab then result come about 10 days later, and then they can go overseas. They can't come back into this country though until 6 months after the blood test. Oh and they need to be microchipped.....just info for when you're getting you
  21. Name them! and I didn't realise Patterdales came in Brindle???
  22. A lot of the pigeons around here have disappeared too??
  23. As long as the pellet doesn't leave your property then I thought it was fine to shoot in your garden?
  24. You wouldn't let Oxfam in your home to inspect your clothes or the condition of your wardrobe and then seize them for 'further investigation' so why would anyone let RSPCA in to inspect your pets?
  25. think it was kayteetess!! Yeah it was, I got the topic back to the top of the Lurcher Section and asked for an update but no luck so far.
