  1. Read the back of the squirrel ones. Apparently "No squirrels were hurt while making these crisps"
  2. Looks just the thing to keep me going on Christmas Day. The cheque will be in the post tomorrow.
  3. Out walking a couple of my dogs today and had one off the lead. Went through a bit of cover and could see a pile of stone/concrete. Dog went to it and went in a gap, no collar on etc etc. Just saw him drop out of site. I moved a few of the smaller stones and was faced with the top of an old well. Fotunately I wasn't too far from home and manged to get some gear up to where the dog was. Right over the top of the hole were some massive lumps of concrete which I managed to get a strop and chain round to drag them clear enough of the hole with my truck so I could get a ladder in. I had a double ex

Try Roundup3000. The normal round up and most other readily available glyphosphate weedkillers has only 120grams/litre of glyphosphate but the 3000 has 360 grams/litre.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    Happy Birthday Tom
  9. You poor sod. I trapped my sciatic nerve a couple of years ago and have had back trouble on and off ever since. Most recently I was sat fixing a gate and reached forward (by no means over stretching) and it went. Another time leaning over the basin brushing my teeth. Diggin will be the least of your worries. Its the times like these when its least expected that will really get you cursing
  10. one of the jobs was a tanner.......in the 18th and 19th century they used to soak hides in water and dog shit........... Dog shit in tanning terms is called puer & was often supplied by hunt kennels. I've also heard that soaking skins in piss works a treat
  11. He did a press conference today and said "the shredders will be working overtime at the moment".

    Badger

At about 1.30 this afternoon just driving down a quiet road, went round a bend to see a well grown badger running down the middle of the road towards me. I stopped and it came to within about 5 yards of my truck before hopping over the verge and away through a field. I know juvenile badgers can sometimes get kicked out of their setts and become a bit disorientated but this was a mature adult. Anybody have any ideas what might have caused it to be running down a road at that time of day

    Hounds

This season been with the Belvoir, Quorn and Cottesmore. Most seasons also get out with the South Notts, Fernie and Fitzwilliams but didn't manage it this year. Also went out with my very own rat pack if that counts. Over the summer am going to get out with some mink hounds.
  15. Bloody animal rights do gooders again not seeing the bigger picture. Lets bring the strays in from a miserable life abroad and risk bringing rabies into the country
  16. Countryfile countryFARCE more like. Hardly ever report on real rural/agricultural issues but plenty of reports on leisure activities to do in the rural theme park

    Rats

My local rag has a section for readers pictures. This week couldn't believe what some stupid idiot had sent in....They have a family of rats under their shed. They often see them in the garden and feed them. They say that their 2 year old grandson is fascinated by them. Wonder if they would be so keen if they realised what filthy creatures they are and the lovely deseases they carry. See it in all its glory here. http://www.granthamjournal.co.uk/readerspictures
  19. Which dog did you use Barney? Hope you had a good day.
  20. I've been thinking about going with some Minkhounds for a couple of years now but circumstances just haven't let me. It sounds like great fun and this summer I will be doubling, no, trebling my efforts in arraging a day out. Does anybody on here have any contacts with Mink hounds that hunt in Lincolnshire/Leicestershire/Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire. Please feel free to PM me, thanks. I will post my experiences of my first day out.
  21. Cheeky B*****D. I remember when my chickens got killed by Mr Fox. If he had been sat in the hen house when I discovered the carnage He would have been culled.
