Walked a trail earlier,sweltering weather,found a snake slough,saw a couple of snakes,and stood very still as a brood of wild Turkey came down the trail. -

Seen blokes pulling rickshaws in bare feet in Calcutta about 30 years ago,the pavements and roads were scorching,the soles of their feet must have been rock hard calloused skin.

Did 10 miles yesterday,went to the river looking for snakes,saw 4 but because of the heat they were really fast and slid off quickly,three garter and one milk snake,hundreds of leopard frogs everywhere.The cottontail here are unusually tame,it’s not difficult to get within a few feet of them. -

One of my sons phoned me earlier,he is going to the badlands next week,he has had a lifelong fascination with dinosaurs/fossils ever since he was a (strange) kid,he is visiting pipestone creek bonebed and the Terrell palaeontology museum,he is really excited. -
There’s a trappers convention about 2000 miles north of me this coming weekend,up in thunder bay,myersberg? From this site went before.I am not heading north for a few weeks though,got a project to finish up.

I am getting a new pair of boots for this trek I want to do next year,I have been looking for size 9 blue Lowas,I have brown already,the sole is hanging off after putting the miles in,I just did 10 miles earlier in a pair of trainers,but I want another pair of Lowas for treks.

Of the three species bears are the only one to be afraid of over there,a bear killed a jogger in italy last month. your sis and her mate are having a great experience,any idea of the kilometres she expects to cover start to finish? -

My lady has Hokas,bought them a few weeks back from a specialised running shop,really lightweight.People have worn footwear of one form or another for 40,000 years,I reckon it might catch on,got to take care of your feet.

I don’t know if it’s the same virus mate,i went to a farm recently and saw written signage saying the ash was infected,I did a bit of online research when I got home and yes ash dieback is a very hing here.
