  1. Good luck! A few days out will help your DSC1 make sense. Why not pay for an actual stalking session?
  2. Can anyone recommend a good book or website for animal tracks?
  3. [note: no intentionally aimed directly at Mr_logic] It's a funny old world, not so long ago people took pride in killing humanely and cleanly. These days it seems in vogue to blow the animals to kingdom come, take photos of the blood bath and promote your skills as an expert animal demolition specialist all over tinernet. As a group we wonder why the government, police and animal rights groups have twitchy fingers. I and most other shooting folk can understand that the animals were killed quickly but to the casual on looker, it must look horrific and to any law enforcement personnel their
  4. Load your rifle. Now unload it. You have to flick the safety OFF to unload right? That's my issue. I can load my Remington, and unload it, with the safety ON for the entire operation, I'm a lot happier doing it that way. Remington is safer IMO, it cuts out one more possibility of an accident happening with the safety off. I can see your point about it feeling safer, but you wouldnt load and unload with the muzzle pointing up. Therefore, with good loading practice, it is no safer although it will feel safer. Personal preference thing. Remington was my next choice of rifle af
  5. Have to say I'm struggling as to what the issue is. When loading/unloading my Tikka, the muzzle always faces the ground - this is what I was taught and it works. I can see the appeal of removing a locked bolt, but at the end of the day, on moving the bolt, the muzzle should face a safe direction, so no real benefit.
  6. When choosing a gun for a mooch, it's always the .410 sinle barrel over the sbs 12 bore .... just prefer it and certainly hit more with it! (magnum carts)
  7. Cannot find that page. I bought a "cheapie" roe sack, mostly ok, but the poorly thought out clips cut grooves in the wood of my lovely new rifle, as did the clips on my "cheapie" rifle sling. Don't know much about surviviling, but i recon you could fit a fair amount of kit in one. Found the page, mine was (or very much like) GAR6B, nasty clanky buckles, and strap hooks that damage.
  8. Old seat belts are good, easy to stitch and almost indestructable ........ just a thought.

  14. Hmmm, not sure then .......... perhaps a call to your firearms dept?
  15. I believe it's 72hrs without notifying the firearms dept. If you want it for six days, just fill out a transfer form when you start and another when you have finished.
  16. When looking at a topic with pictures, why does the next reply cover half the picture, or only part of the picture get shown, the other part hiding behind the next reply??
  17. Lifetime warranty on those. Got one on the deer rifle.

  20. Very true Mr L, but if the land lacks good backstops and the user is inexperienced then its probably a good idea.
