  1. I had a double catch in aTalpex today, male and female. Thats a first, and probably last for me. Luckily the customer was watching as I pulled the trap out.
  2. Good footage ...I've never had the confidence to take a neck shot.
  3. I get muzzle flash with my 16 inch (?) CZ 452 with a sak mod on, it also appears to be noisier than the my chum's .22 with a longer barrel and the same mod. If I get the chance, I'll try both at range. Interesting post RicW
  4. Can anyone enlighten me as to what sort of trajectory to expect from a .22 18lbft Mk2?? Cheers
  5. What sort of condition is it in? How long is the MoT and tax? ..... what colour is that??
  6. Hello: 'Shorts' won't ever cycle through your Magazine, because it's made for 'Longs' SUPRISED you muppet? If you try them (I think you might have by now) They just 'fly' out and drop in the grass! You can single load them with difficulty (I know because I was you some time ago I'm a 'Muppet' to), and after all the trouble, what happens? they shoot 1" low at 20 Yards, but I'm sure if you could bother to zero these they would be as consistant as all the other 22Rimfire cartridges we can buy. The bottom line is that these are perfectly good ammo, but were made for pump action 'gallery' rif
  7. I've tried low powered rws and more recently CCI cb longs, and at 30 yrds you would be lucky to get all rounds in a ten inch circle. Looks like there is no real low powered solution, at least in my gun.
  8. Thanks Comanche, what was accuracy like?
  9. Has anyone used .22 shorts in their 452? Do they cycle ok, fit in mag ok? accuracy?
  10. Thanks chaps, going the weirauch route.
  11. Opinions please, but only if you have experience of them.... 1/2 unf thread
  12. Just ask your local gun shop to come along and collect them - simple, no need to get the police involved.
  13. 12mm (without me glasses)
  14. does anyone know where I can get these?
  15. "snares are out of the question as both of us do not have experience in them" Wow, a responsible answer! Good call, although Duckwing is right, fox travels at a diferent height. Good luck
  16. No disrespect intended for the old timers, but I really can't agree with that statement. In my opinion a competent professional trapper who really knows how to tune and use Duffus, Talpex, or other modern traps, can run circles around anyone using the old methods. Not to say the old methods don't work, just not as efficient as modern traps, in my opinion. Hmmm, thats open to question.....many a good tune played on an old fiddle! I'd like to see some made with proper clay pipe as per the original Saxon design.
  17. I find the LED lights great for spotting or close range, but the light they emit is cold and will not show detail like a "proper" bulb. As HZ says, great for picking out relective stuff, but to properly identify quarry at distance??
  18. Can a sound moderator be fitted to the TX?
  19. Now if that had been a Roe deer, the shooter would have been savaged on here, even though he clearly could have hit the vitals. Good shooting.
