  1. Had no probs with my Deben, the one with the dimmer switch. Only beef is the flimsy filter fitment .... I'd pay another tenner for a nice tight fitting filter that doesnt drop off!

    poaching

Got chatting to the local poacher in the pub. He's probably the most interesting bloke i've talked to for ages. Turns out he poaches my land! I actually don't mind - he never leaves a trace of his prescence and eats everthing he catches ........ unlike those who have permission!
  3. Bit of a brave move to put his picture on there!
  4. There you go! http://www.targetsports.co.uk/
  5. They will be getting more of my money when need be ......... that is if i can withdraw it from Iceland!
  6. Thanks to Target Sports of Bolton who rectified an order error with a feebie! well done, service as it should be! http://www.targetsports.co.uk/
  7. From reading posts over the last 6 months, Eley do see to be the preffered round for most people.
  8. Get a box of each and see what the gun likes.
  9. Probably great for rats! Batteries are a bit pricey! My hunting bud has a logun lamp which is poor for rabbits, especially with the filter and bright nights. I have a Tracer mini, which is ok - you WILL find you need to scan around and also be able to see the animal, not just the eyes. Spend a few more quid for something more powerful IMHO.
  10. Well said Trappa. I was asked to train a few to set mole traps, which i did ........ but left out the "secret ingredients" that took me years to learn. Why make every gardener in the land a sudden "mole expert"????????
  11. "landowners are legally bound to control their numbers." ....... that didnt wash with the "anti shooting" lady who ruined a potential good session! She was worried that we would shoot her children who regularly trespassed on the land! Apology followed next morning, maybe i'll leave a brace of fine autumn bunnies on her doorstep, just as a goodwill gesture.
  12. Definitely not shotgun wounds, try looking at pictures of bird diseases.
  13. Well, if I was employing, I'd choose the one with common sense, aptitude and experience over someone with a qualification and little experience. As for the demise of Strychnine, so what? Nasty poison, just made me fine tune my trapping skills. In an ideal world, you shouldnt be able to buy chemicals unless proved competent anyway.....sadly, you can.
  14. I'm all for new ideas!!! Not sure the pest industry is destroyed, just has to move with the times.
  15. No, not really enough info, tell us more......
  16. Ok, so what exactly were you looking for with the question?
  17. Sorry, but i'm missing the point of the original post............. ??? JBS, are you; Pest controller? Wildlife management? Market research?

    Can't the police help?
  19. Agree: "Who cares, deal with animal first, deal with the rest later." Was rather surprised that it could go against any law. Doubt anyone would challenge a humane destruction with anything suitable.
  20. Unless humane dispatch is on fac, it can only be done with a shotgun. (Told that yesterday by firearms trainer)

Basc sorted me with the right advice at good speed, which made the subscription worth every penny! I can't comment on lurchers and terriers, and as they are the British Association for SHOOTING and CONSERVATION, I doubt they can either.
  22. Do you know who the makers are??? Any pictures??? Very fussy are mole trappers!
  23. Rabbits are better to EAT when there is an R in the month ........ last couple of sessions i've had, they were in fine condition, but i doubt the dog will notice!
  24. Should only be to 190 bar. I pumped mine up on a cold night to 190..ish, bagged it, put it indoors too near a radiator and it blew the cylinder a few hours later! Expensive mistake!
