  1. I heard they were juicy. Good purchase the Jimny ...... especially with the A/C. Jusat needs to carry me, the dog, the kit and the missus ....... occaisionally!
  2. Richie, did you used to own a vitara? If so, what was it like, fuel/repairs etc? Jimny outside my budget. Cheers
  3. Stick to 30 yds, it's a fine line between humane kill and cruelty. Further than that, .22 rf. Just my opinion.
  4. Surely not a bad thing to do DSC1 anyway??? I'm going to do it before i even bother applying for .243.
  5. You cant go wrong with a cz 452, cheap, reliable and popular. If you buy new, you know its not been messed with or dropped. Good luck
  6. Edgar Brothers scopes are known as Optimate. Lifetime warranty. Not used mine yet, so can't comment, but looking down it seems great quality. http://www.edgar-brothers.co.uk/ORIGINAL_SITE/ ..... and you can check the price of your scope.
  7. I'll bet the shooter no longer has a licence - or particularly wants to shoot again! Any links to that story?
  8. Mind you, Rainger on reading your post again, I suspect you want to ID eyes to save wasting time sneaking up on something you don't want to shoot at?? It's a good question, Interesting post.
  9. You should ALWAYS identify the WHOLE animal when shooting at night, if you can't, don't shoot it! Simple and safe.
  10. To us less well-informed, what is it? Any pictures? how is it used?
  11. Aha! Wondered that after I posted! No hares here (South East) What's 18lbft like on rabbit? (distance etc?) Looking for something in between 12lbft and rimmy.
  12. Have to admit, I'd never heard of it, but i wasnt about to start asking anymore questions at interview...ticket granted, just shut up and be grateful!
  13. Its not really a case of being able to kill a hare with a 12lbft air rifle, it's more about humaneness. A fox can be killed with an air rifle, but anyone who respects quarry and knows their weapons will know it can go horribly wrong. I'd see the hares on the golf course as a green light to apply for a .22rf!!!
  14. Mine says the same as yours Richie, my Firearms officer told me it was a semi-open. From that I assumed a closed ticket was for your approved land only.
  15. Had exactly the same with winchester .22 subs, clean barrel, ok, fire 5 rounds, sticking spent shells. switched to RWS, all ok! The winchesters appear to have some heavy wax on them, suspect this was causing the problem.
  16. They will check the land if it has not been looked at before. I recall that they do not give a hoot about the cost of ammunition/rifles. You are applying for a tool to do a job on the land you are applying for, and it is in your interests to have selected the most suitable tool(s) for "good reasons". Don't forget sound moderators, for hearing protection, disturbance to the public, and welfare of resident livestock. Best book I ever bought was Firearms Law: Guidance to the Police 2002, www.thestationeryoffice.com They will be looking for a good understanding on your part as to why you think
  17. Rimfire also more humane - heavier round.
  18. Have to agree with you Chris, the rise in popularity of airguns has led to a rise of idiots owning and abusing them. However, those who flout the law will always do so.
  19. Yes, that one in the picture is pants, weak spring! Only use this style of trap for difficult moles, mostly use tunnel traps.
  20. Love my AA S410 carbine.....old model, just wish it had a safety.....
  21. ....probably a lot easier to find in the dirt/scrub than a brown one i guess, but s/steel is pricey. Anyone got a picture of one?
  22. I use a mild steel probe for mole work, rust would never be a problem on something that thick...and mild steel is one hell of a lot cheaper too.
  23. Not seen these, but why make them out of stainless?? Surely mild steel would be fine?
  24. Hi Considering getting an Invisible fence - the kind that beeps a warning then gives a mild shock, to keep my Jack within boundaries. Do they work on a keen dog? Any advice or recommendations as to which make would be a great help. Cheers
