  1. Cheers Bob, I'll deffo give that a go as well Was gonna chuck some eggs out of the fridge as they were near their date. Phantom
  2. Thank you gentlemen, I'm beggining to find my feet now when shooting in the dark, but it has been a steep learning curve for me. I have no problems in daylight. I've charged my batteries up last night for the lamp and I hope to get back there and knock some more over this evening. The second bunny is now coated in Tandoori Spices and will be going in the oven for a nice slow roasting. The small one is in a bag outside awaiting the rain to stop so I can use it as Corvid bait tomorrow (weather permitting) on the paddock. Phantom
  3. Nice shot Si, They are such pretty birds for egg eating scum aint they? Another few eggs will survive next spring with that one out of the way Phantom
  4. I've been a member of on there for a long time (years). I recieved a three month ban for mentioning what I would do (In very graphic detail mind you) to Gary Glitter. Well I say it was that, it could have been the joke I made about the French in Afghanistan They never actually told me why I got the ban, but it didnt stop me from going on WHILE the ban was in place. And yes I did use my own username and password (that pissed off the mods big time) and they never did figure out how I did it The club I am the secretary of started life on the BBS, but we are rapidly outgrowing i
  5. The GRT replacement trigger is supposed to be superb. I'm having one next year Get them from Charlie Da Tuna http://www.charliedatuna.com/ I fitted an AA sound mod to the 19 that made a wonderful difference to muzzle report  I also ran a couple of strips of foam felt furniture feet between the action and the stock. This reduced the recoil felt a little (but not much) but it did make a hell of a difference to the noise you hear through the stock Phantom
  6. Took my bunny sniping baby out for a walk last evening. Got to the paddock and the ponies were all near the feed bales so I headed over to where I was the previous day. Walked out to the 30 Paces marker and unrolled my matt unslipped the gun and then placed my Zero target against the fence with the embankment behind it. Walking over I noticed something on the floor. Looks like I have some competition for the bunnies on the paddock. Here's what was left of one of the younger bunnies! And next to it was a copious quantity of speckeled feathers! Anyways I got bac
  7. They are going for about £100 new I would try around £75 £ if in great condition and delivered. I'd certainly give you that if I had some spare. Phantom
  8. Here's me thinking you don't look a day over 50 :tongue2: Happy birthday buddy Thats a very sweet prezzie you gave yourself, I must have a play when we meet upnext year Phantom
  9. The thing with springers is that you can not 'Silence' them, but yes you can make them a damn sight quieter. A Silencer/Moderator on the front makes a massive difference down range, but next to your face, its still just as loud. The reason being is that the action makes a lot of noise. This noise is transfered through the metal of the action and into the wooden stock where you get it nextto your lug hole. A tip I had been given fo my springer was to place some rubber or foam strips between the action and the stock. I tried this and WOW what a difference at the ear Couple this with
  10. I've only had two zero sessions where I've walked away with a kill. The first was the Mouse that popped its head up right behind my pellet catcher in the shed Made a lovely mess of the rodent did the 19 Then this one, I was actually putting the gun away when I saw the bunny Going out with some deeks later for my 1st Corvids in the paddock. Will be taking my S200 though for the stability of the pod and the better light gathering of the 56mm scope for low light bunnies Phantom
  11. Thanks for the tip Ian I usually use AAFD's in 5.52. I figured as I still had half a tub of the FX's I'd use em up I'll try to get me some of the Penetrators and give em a try Phantom
  12. Oh yeah, I also have a little owl deek, but the wife pinched it for a garden ornament along with all my Dove deeks! Phantom
  13. I went into the city today and wound up buying two maggie decoys. Got a bunny skin and head in the freezer. Hoping weather's gonna be good tomorrow for some Crow capping and Maggi mugging in the paddock:boxing: I've heard that Crows will come to Maggi deeks and vice versa. I hope so because the shop didn't have any crow deeks left. Good tip re the matches, I have heard similar said regarding pellets in a tictak box Phantom
  14. Cheers guy's Zini, Davy is correct it is an SMK XS19. I've not tuned her yet other than put a couple of strips of thin rubber between the action and the stock, which has taken the kick down a bit and really dampened the sound that is transfered through the stock. I love shooting springers and out of all the ones I've owned over the years this one is my favorite. I will be keeping this one for a good few years yet. It took my first load of bunnies; all good clean head-shot kills, as well as turning that rodent inside out:clapper: Thanks again guy's Phantom
  15. My most memorable shots have been: The Mouse in the Neck with a .177 springer The Mouse that I shot in the back and opened up with the .22 I still cant believe the cheek of that little fury My 1st ever bunny taken with my SMK mod19 in .22 And my most memorable one was the Bunny that was heading directly towards me, stopped, yawned and caught the .22 slug from my AA S200 at the back of its throat; severing its spinal column Phantom
  16. After a costly, time consuming, stupid mistake this morning I figured I needed a bit of fun. As the weather was dry (all be it a bit windy) I would take my Springer out to the horse paddock and have a play with her at 30 yards. I haven't used her since the neighbour has his hissy fit about his coffin dodger wife being terrified to go out of the house when I was shooting in the garden. So I grabbed the part used tub of FX Pellets and off I wandered. Got to the paddock and all the ponies and foles are near the gate. I climbed over and headed to the far end in the hope they would leav
  17. Thoroughly agree, you need a springer Hopefully taking mine out tomorrow as I've not put a pellet down her in about 6 months now Started to get a bit lazy since I got the PCP:icon_redface: But thats gonna change Phantom
  18. I've shot the 97K :notworthy: Not shot the ProSport (yet) The 97 is certainly worth the brass you pay:thumbs: Phantom
  19. Sweet spot-on When you said out for a quickie I thought you were out for a  Nice shooting and a nicely composed pic too Phantom
  20. Superb Noggin shots on the TreeRat and Woodie Looks like the maggie had a cold on its chest (cold lead that is) Shame about the damage, but good thing nothing too serious. Knocked the front end of my S200 today:doh:, then proceeded to miss 5 shots at bunnies and one at a woody. Stood a small pear (fruit left for the nags) on the fence, crosshair on the centre, pellet penetrated the fence post about 2 inches low:thumbdown: Was too cold to spend time zeroing, so went home and fitted my AA Mod to the Mod19 for a zeroing session tomorrow, weather permitting:yes: Phantom
  21. :notworthy: All Hail an Airgun Marksmanship God :notworthy: Superb shot Si I wouldn't have dared take a shot like that with a sub 12 even a PCP. 4.5 mildots is a hell of a hold over Well done Buddy Phantom
  22. Nice going guy's Love a good write up. Not really been out much this last week due to the weather! Went out last night with Riff Raff, two shots off, two bunnies ran Went out to my newest written permission today, Paddock was full of kids, men and women giving the nags a bit of excersice. Decided to pace out all the warren entrances and come up with the best sniping position, oh how my head hurts, there are that many warrens there I figured out a place where I will be best off starting, I can cover 4 warrens all within 30 yards from that one spot I saw some wo
  23. Hi again, The Beeman R-7 is actually a Weihrauch HW30 Rifle The Beeman ones are running at about 7 foot pounds, so I would suggest that you reduce your range. I shoot various rifles and sadly in the UK we are limited to a max of 12 foot pounds before we require a Fire Arms Permit Most UK air gunners will not shoot past 35 yards due to the pellet drop and hold over required to do so and thats with a 10-11.5 foot pound rifle with a telescopic sight. If you add a telescopic sight to the rifle, you would be able to adjust further and bring the POI closer to the bull. But with open/i
  24. The Corvids have been known (and I have seen them) attack the ponies. The little shetland one has large scars where the black feckers have had a go at it. They try to go for the eyes on most occasions. While it was not unheard of in the past, the Corvids are becomming more aggressive with smaller livestock, just ask a sheep farmer or even cattle farmers. There has been many, many instances in the last few years where Corvids are attacking and even killing livestock and their young. Hope that answers your question. Phantom
