  1. Thank you gents, It is a very good scope and I am loathed to sell it but I need to get some euro's together for my stay in Germany. I've put my big Astronomical Scope on eBay as well if anyone's interested its here! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290494220116&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT I only know of one other shooter who's into Astronomy and he uses very posh computerised Job! 2. I believe Sweeny Todd has one on his HW100 but I may be wrong Welcome to the forum Phantom
  3. Figured I'd put this up in here rather than the sale section as I'd like it to go to another airgunner (although they are FA rated I believe) I always told myself I would not part with this, but alas I have to give in and part with my beloved 3-9x56 AO scope It was made in the 's and although not the Carl Ziess of optics its bloody good I used it on my S200 until I went mildots! It always provided me with a great low light image and although its got a 30/30 ret its a damn good low lighter Turrets are finger adjustable, none of this 'coin needed' malarky. Once set at your des
  4. Your pretty much correct there Andy. However, you need to make sure it is your secondary zero that is at 10 yards and not your primary! So if your hitting the spot at 10 then move the target out to 15, your pellet should land Higher than the spot. If it does then your 2nd zero is correct and so should your primary zero. Enjoy the shoot, and if you wanna get scared, come do my cemy with me tomorrow night LOL Phantom
  5. Chronograph or a call to your Police Fire Arms Offcer are the only ways to tell or If its been registered as an FAC, then even if you turn it down, it still remains an FAC job. If you are caught with it and even if you have had it brought down in power, its still requires an FAC certificate So if you don't have one, your up the creek without a paddle regardless Phantom
  6. Looks like a nicely placed shot there Well done Phantom
  7. when you go air rife hunting what do you take Myself, some paper targets, my portable backstop, a poncho, pellets and something to lay on if its cold or wet. Carrier bag to put the dead in. Oh yeah a sharp knife! Rangefinder, but seldom use it! what do you carry it in Either my pockets or a carrier bag what do you wear Dutch Army DPM, trousers, and jacket as well as a hat (woolie if cold, boonie if warm), gloves, multi pocketed vest, jacket, boots, what do you use Depends on mood really, sometimes a springer, but usually my AA S200 (cuz I'm lazy and its darn accurate)
  8. Welcome to the forum I admire your taste in Rifles The question is not at what range can the gun deliver a fatal shot, because the gun can deliver a fatal shot at much further than you would imagine The question is more what you are capable of making the gun do I've hit bunnies out to 65 yards and they have dropped like a lead baloon (perfect conditions, no wind etc) but its not something I do regularly My advice is; as always see what you can get the gun to do consistantly on paper! Try for a grouping of less than 1 inch at 35 yards, then increase the distance by 5 yards un
  9. Hello Darren and welcome to the forum It would not put me off buying it, if I had never used a mildot system before, but now having shot with a 30/30 ret and then a mildot, I would rather get a mildot 30/30's are fine if you can learn the differances in ranging, and relate them to the posts on the ret, however Mildots do have the advantage in my opinion. I always thought that I was happy with my 30/30 scope until I learnt how the mildots are used and I now considder them to be a snipers best friend Guess its all down to personal preferance. Phantom
  10. Well done Darryl I'll gi yah an sp when I get some more for doing the sensible thing and walking away Take heed people, in windy conditions, shooting's a nono Phantom

  16. Hey Rob, I wasn't trying to offend anyone and certainly not you buddy , I should have read the OP more closely I think Perhaps I should have waited till the morning before making my reply Okay, right.... Your using a 410 in .22 (good rifle, with a good scope) and your OP stated you were missing birds. Your post gives the impression that you are a fairly inexperianced shooter, so my first advice stands, do lots and lots of paper punching You need to be putting 8 or nine shots all into the centre of your target. The centre should ideally be one inch or less in diameter. When you c

  19. Hey Rob, It matters not one Iota about the calibre buddy. Your an experianced Marksman as am I I if you and I can knock a woody from the top of a 50 foot tree at 37 yards with a .22, then we can do it with a .177 or any other cal buddy cant we? the thing is to learn to shoot properly; learn about trajectory and how gravity alters the trajectory when shooting up and down hill and how it differs fron shooting at ground/eye level Phantom
  20. I aint Religious but Ayyy fecking men to that Very sound advice indeed And as above Practice, Practice, practice some more and then when your thouroughly fecked off and a good shot practice some more Then you will be ready. Oh and do a lil ole search of the forums for shooting at an incline, Si does an excellent little vid on the method used, and I followed it up with a little graphich demonstartion that is the perfect accompliment to Si's explanation. (for those of us (like me) that are more visually understanding) Phantom
  21. According to a documentary I once saw, Ferrals inside a building can and do more damage to a building than rats.Apparently their urine and droppings can corrode concrete floors (according to the pesties that were shooting ferrals at a Large well known footy stadium in Manchester). Phantom
  22. WAY TO GO GUY'S But I really dont believe you shot that many ferrals! was it a clone and paint job in PSP :11: Brilliant ferral flattening lads :gunsmilie: Phantom
  23. Vermin dispatch in a cage? The larger the calibre the better, so .22 is better I speak from both experiance and as the Secretary of an International Air Pistol Shooters Club. My reasons are that a .22 moves slower than a .177 and therefore the more kinetic energy is transfered to to the animal, thus ensuring more of a lethal shock to the central nervous system; the wound tract is also much larger than a .177 You want the animal to die as quickly and as humanely as possible don't you? (or t least most members and pest controllers on here do) I have dispatched vermin with b
