  1. I know that this topic isnt just about your show but your show is one of the first shows this year and im worried that everyone else is going to follow in your footsteps and leave the whippet racing out of there shows to . speedy you worry to much, other shows will do their own thing not follow me,the thing with being first is i get to try it first,if it works thats great but if it doesnt then i get slated and the other shows do it different.i dont mind taking a bit of stick but as an organizer and a whippet owner im sick of all the rubbish about racing whippets at a show.theres a few on her
  2. I know that this topic isnt just about your show but your show is one of the first shows this year and im worried that everyone else is going to follow in your footsteps and leave the whippet racing out of there shows to . speedy1234 I was under the impression this topic was about keeping whippets,non-peds and unmarked greyhounds out of the lurcher races at lurcher and terrier shows,by all let the whippets, non-peds and greyhounds have a race against themselves like lurchers used to Y.I.S Leeview
  3. If organising clubs were commited to running the racing their members should be too busy to run their own dogs and that would rule out any inference of cheating going on Clubs have to decide are we organising the racing or entering the racing? should nt be able to do both Y.I.S Leeview
  4. Fair play to you tango so basically your having to rely on the competitors honesty Y.I.S Leeview
  5. the mourne will have under21,under23 and over 23,straight racing,i will have measuring sticks there on the day,im sure if they dont argue about this theyll find something else tango your straight racing measurements would these be for lurchers? or U21=whippets, U23=greyxwhip and over23=greys? Y.I.S Leeview
  6. The best thing SGF could do is give everyone at least £5 to spend and free entry and by the way I STILL WOULD NT BE GOING Y.I.S Leeview
  7. this "habit of developing aneamia" if I recall correctly last year you were the only member that had ever lost a ferret due to leaving a jill in season? and the one you mentioned earlier that died from a jill jab? far more members stated on here that they leave their jills in season with no problems at all If your thinking of the jill jab consider this, it will take her out of season and she'll be back in season after 6weeks so another trip to the vets and 6 weeks later (mid June) guess what she'll be back in season so another trip to the vets because you dont want to leave her in season un
  8. the OP wanted to know about jill jabs and I replied, now vasectomised hobs are brought into the topic OK use a vasectomised hob but you'll still have the jills coming back into season 6 weeks on,now myself and plenty of other members on here leave jills in season(and have done for many years)without any losses or ill side effects, just seperate hobs from jills and you wont go far wrong Y.I.S Leeview
  9. Ask the vets if they'll rejab them for free when they come back in season in around 6weeks time? and more than likely 6 weeks after the second one Y.I.S Leeview
  10. Is that the hairy spun nylon twine? I get black 16z smooth nylon from Advanced Netting Supplies great service and next day delivery Y.I.S Leeview
  11. I leave my jills in season until the days start drawing in and they come out of season naturally never had any of these so called conditions associated with leaving them in season and definately never lost one through being left in season and pet ferret owner ferret100 has asked if I'll have a jill submitted to a vet for blood tests to be carried out later on this summer to see why they are still alive Y.I.S Leeview
  12. So you use 3 needles to knit one net? Are the loomis bulky ? Y.I.S Leeview all fit through a 1 inch ring so why the need to finish with a traditional needle? I do 4'6" nets shaped 18 meshes wide with one 8" needle would a loomis hold that much twine? Y.I.S Leeview
  13. 4z is what you want for rabbits, 6z-10z might come in handy for the roo's
  14. So you use 2 needles to knit one net? Are the loomis bulky ? Y.I.S Leeview
  15. just read through all 5 pages, some intelligent thought provoking statements being made. Now was SL an angel? or did he have a hidden background thats been covered up? Tuesday night the documentary about the case on for an hour, his friend repeatedly said there were 6 attackers that night and went on to state the amount of blood SL had lost, and this case was brought on a micro spec of this said lost blood? Also as has been mentioned earlier the picture of SL thats produced monotonously the full picture shows him giving a black power salute is that not rascist? Y.I.S Leeview
  16. spun poly is twisted the same as nylon as for braided you can get both nylon or spun poly braided The difference between the 2 is nylon will absorb water and stretch slightly the spun poly doesnt absorb water so does not stretch Y.I.S Leeview
  17. or looking at your replies on the collar thread why not buy one of them dual purpose then Y.I.S Leeview
  18. only just read this simonrocco, WOW thats a mighty fine first effort that she(and you) should rightly be proud of now get her out ferreting for her first pursed rabbit Y.I.S Leeview
  19. the actual knitting was fine but loading the needles was not very clever when you load the needle always have the spool horizontal they way he did it the net will twist on its self like the coils he was taking off the spool Y.I.S Leeview
  20. So you reckon its a great bolter in warrens less than 6 holes? Why does nt it manage in larger warrens? I expect my ferrets to work regardless of whether its in a 2 holer or a massive bank Y.I.S Leeview
  21. he might of got it from diggermad Y.I.S Leeview
  22. A true gentleman loved his terriers, and was a great lover of coursing. Considered him a close friend after first meeting him when he was regional organiser of the then BFSS for Yorkshire and instigated the region having its own newsletter. Going to leave a void that I cant see being filled RIP and my condolences to his wife and daughter Y.I.S Leeview
  23. Do you mean the knot that used on each mesh? If so google CARRICK BEND just like a normal knot shown in many "how to" explanations but with and added turn to it a brilliant knot that if it does slip will only get tighter Y.I.S Leeview
