  1. it is and created all this interest, what happened to that post there was a lot of ideas put up and members from here willing to join and' hey presto' a secret forum on here and all the transparency is hidden except for a certain few Where and who actually got to vote this steering group in? Early on in Giro's post it was mentioned that there is already a club recognized by the CA and member of the CHA to represent lurchers/longdogs but these chosen few decided to go ahead and create another group Good Luck Y.I.S Leeview
  2. OK so your rubbing it down now, have you wet it between grades? Y.I.S Leeview Yep wash,d her off with soapy water after each sanding , should have the sanding finished to night and it will go back to being dark David once the oil is put back on her cant wait to see what she is going to turn out like atvbmac  why soapy water after each sanding? sponging down with clear water will be fine no chemicals in clear water and once will be OK the grain only raises once this will stop the grain raising when you oil it Y.I.S Leeview
  3. just read all 4 pages of this, now this guy that stopped them they had 25 rabbits and presumably not 1 hare about their person? that alone would of been enough evidence to prove their point. Many posters have put what would they do if this happened to them, myself I would of been on to the police complaints commissioner(thats what he's there for) and told him what the farmer had been told by the police officers who had no evidence of any hare coursing had taken place just the word of a mistaken busy body who IMHO should of been the one visited by the police for wasting their time and police b

  5. Bump.......said that on page 2 lol.No mate, you said wire wool which will smooth off the checkering whereas a toothbrush won't. Chris only If you rub like sandpaper, hard wood is hard but if sanded will remove timber you just need to agitate the stripper and loosen the black stain and yes it is a delicate and a toothbrush will work. Once the surface of the stain is opened the next treatment will get to work but it could take ages but is well worth doing. I work with wood for a living and restoring old hardwood is very rewarding as it takes many years to grow in the first place. Walnut l
  6. Thanks, there all seem to be doing ok the mothers getting well looked after and spoilt! Sounds like you know the sire, he's certainly a useful dog and has a great placid nature too. Yes know the lines well my avatar was out of the first litter and Flynn's got Todds sister out of the second litter, the placid nature comes from the owner and family Y.I.S Leeview

  9. the 2 men were travellers from Newark that's quite a way from Tony Martin's farm. The youngest(a teenager) died from his wounds, the other who was shot in the back was sent to jail after a trial, when released who tried to sue Tony Martin for injuries incurred leaving him disabled and had difficulty walking, the case folded when a video was shown of him walking with a stick but not using it to walk with IMHO he should of been jailed for that too Y.I.S Leeview
  10. the venues were selected for access mainly, the CLA stopped doing Scone it was too far north to attract the southern counties lot, Chatsworth was a nightmare to get to from the M1 and it was sponsored by Vodaphone (or one of the mobile phone company's) and there was no reception due to being surrounded by hills, Ragley Hall held it once but the CLA decided on rotating the shows on a 4 yearly cycle of 4 venues Y.I.S Leeview
  11. True tiercel, in your earlier post the keeper who's dad was the miner from Doncaster, tell the members how he made his twine for the long nets we dont know how lucky we are Y.I.S Leeview
  12. We went this year, I've never missed the CLA at Harewood, admission has always been dearer but the falling numbers probably relates to stall holders this year they were 240 stalls down which is a lot to loose and less to see for the public Y.I.S Leeview
  13. Well where to start, we left home Friday late morning and arrived at Weston Park mid afternoon to find tiercel already settled in with the kettle on, introductions were made as we had never met in the flesh before. I started setting up ready for Saturday morning's start, tables chairs sorted out in the marquee, pictures hung and then retire for the night, initially there was to be 4 of us manning the demo but through family illness and personal injury there was tiercel, Flynn and myself left, we spoke about this situation and agreed " Field of Dreams" you build it and people will come, so we p
  14. our local smithie that makes our end pins made those poles for BB, when he lived in Lincoln.he thinks he's still got some about. in all honesty by the time the rabbits got used to the nets being there the grass had grown through the mesh and made it difficult if not impossible to lift. IF they were that good plenty of rabbiters would be using them but kev's the only person I've heard of using them Y.I.S Leeview

  25. from the outset the original idea was to straighten out misrepresentation of the lurcher in the press ie suffolk polices misguided posts. You've got your committee set up and what happens you start putting scare mongering posts up (if you only read the 1st page) read all of it and its contradictory of the rest of the leaflet. What you would best be doing is replying to them pointing out the errors in their leaflet instead you have a go at me saying you dont want to read the Hunting Act. lurcher folk are meant to be pulling together Y.I.S Leeview
