  10. my understanding was a landowner could nt give permission due to conservation measures placed on the Irish Hare? Cork County Open were gifted some hares by my club several years ago, they were netted boxed and got as far as Stranraer before they were refused for loading by the authority's as a non native specie Y.I.S Leeview
  11. Not illegal to net hares is it they just did nt have permission to net them at that time, and the ICC rightly suspended them for the season Y.I.S Leeview Or in that place. That's the thing about the coursing clubs, some of the members think the hares are theirs alone, no matter who's land it is or who's permission they're tresspassing on. They'll poach hares then attack the person who's permo it is or vandalise their car. the dept give the licences to coursing clubs as conservation of the Irish Hare and how they look after the Hares, medical checks and vet treatment. Is it hyp

  16. When we spoke to Tim, the steering group were lead to believe that Alan was up to speed on the role of the steering group and that he had had email discussions with 2 members of that group. I even asked him openly on this forum if he was aware of the agenda. I got no answer as the thread was locked. All discussions with Tim were based about the vision for LAGBI as a new group. He agreed with the plan that we presented and the path that was chosen. When asked about Alan and the ALC, he said "thats down to you and Alan to sort out". The first thing after that meeting to sort out was a direct con
  17. Hadn’t Trenchfoot answered that pages back? Oh well it would take a while to find it for you so here’s a quote of the report sent to members of the steering group from him after the meeting. “The meeting went very well. Tim was very responsive about the need to be seen to be doing more in support of lurchers (working and otherwise). He also admitted that LAGBI denouncing all the illegal, bad practice carried out by certain lurcher owners was also much needed and to by applauded. As such, they are more than willing to have an article, which he has invited Penny to write on any thing

  23. I too always angle the net so the rabbits run into it,the reason to get the rabbit on the net before its nose touches the net, when its nose has touched the net it panics and turns on the net tangling itself. In your scenario having the net upright its nose will touch the net(from either side)before its on the net and this could cut your total catch, better to catch from one side and others are a bonus Y.I.S Leeview
