  1. sounds like you have bad dogs . . . Unfortunately no, marriage breaking down, and dogs need to get new homes, not through choice, but need. Not the best dogs in the world, and not the worst, but they have done well for me. Still, thanks for the well informed constructive comment.
  2. I use a wee 10" tts jrt, but she started going down the holes. Also have a collie and a terrierxspringer that both mark, but the terrier cross took a few years to settle. Both these dogs need rehoming if anyone is interested.
  3. Still have two bitches that need rehomed very soon, terrierxspringer and a collie. Both 4 years old. Both used for mooching about and a bit of ferreting, but a good pet or farm home would suit too. No pictures, but terrier cross is black and very rough coated, collie is liver red with white markings. Collie has a fair speed, and have been tempted to use her in a lurcher mix. Terrier cross half trained as a spaniel, retrieves well and has a fair nose for feather, picks live sitters too. Can be seen out if done soon. I am in Northern ireland between belfast and derry. Would prefer
  4. Good to see a wee type doing the job, had high hopes for my jrt at 10"tts
  5. I have 2 bushing dogs that need rehoming soon as possible, ( domestic circumstances) a collie and a terrierxspringer. They are in NI and there's an ad in the for sale, but not getting enough exposure they really need a home soon. Good enough bushers, mark well and good with ferrets, if not be great farm dogs watch dogs or family pets. Can be seen run if soon too. Possibly a jrt bitch to go soon too, depending on housing arrangements. Mods, please let this run a little whil, I know it's the wrong section, but I really need to get them good homes asap
  6. quite eager to rehome these dogs soon, haven't much time left. Tdavepat, has seen the dogs all if anyone wants another opinion on them.

  11. Due to domestic circumstances, I am selling up, in a hurry. I have to rehome, 2 bushing/ferreting/farm dogs, A springerxterrier bitch, and a collie bitch, both used for bushing, but marking and well for the ferrets, with a litlle more experience. Collie is fairly fast and have been tempted to cross her over a whippet, although not now. She is around 19" tts, fast, smart, does tricks etc wifes dog so does hoops etc keen to hunt and obedient, The collie is red/brown with white markings. The terrier cross is good on bushing rabbits, good nose for woodcock and birds, retrieves excellent wi
  12. I start with 10 at the ring, don't really need much more than that, then the second row is 10 again. There's a few ways to do it, but the way i favour is this ring 10 10 12 12 14 14 16 16 18 18 18 16 16 14 14 12 12 10 10 ring if that makes sense to add a mesh when you get to the edge of your width or the start, just run a second loop through the mesh you just knotted, so you end up with 1 full loop, and a half size one. Thats your extra mesh. Then carry on as normal. To take a mesh in, is 2 ways. I think dependant on what twine you use. I use a fairly heavy
  13. Not hunting related as such, but plan to get this done for my daughter http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs46/i/2009/167/1/2/Tribal_Stag_And_Fawn_Tattoo_by_WildSpiritWolf.png
  14. They learnt over time that human activity can yield food, through digging etc, have one constant in the garden over summer, and on one ground had one follow all day. Heard somewhere that they adapted, and they used to follow wild pigs etc, as they turn soil over etc. Prefer the blackbirds call when out though.
  15. Be sure it's hemp you want in a long net, will get very heavy wge wet, and carrying around. PLus drying out space.
  16. Always liked hugh, but he's gotten a bit aggravating this past few years. That was last years christmas episode wasn't it. If i remember correct it wasn't a totally safe shot? sloping down hill ground, but likely wrong, I normally am. And i'm not even a stalker. .
  17. Cracking dog you have there atb
  18. my jrt gives a kind of sneezing motion then head down, and the terrierxspaniel sniffs, and if anythings in she tries to get as much of herself down the hole as will fit.
  19. My old poley jill (rip) would always appear at the nearset hole if the mk1 was knocking, just nosey. But she was steady enough that she came up, and if she had killed would go back to the rabbit again.
  20. Exactly why the neutral people an dthose with out a great country imterest, believe that hunting is wrong. The language used is very leading, and misinformative. Should be some regulations on how they can report on things, unbiasedly and fairly. Not from one point of view, especially not the bbc anyway, we all pay our licenses and should all be taken into account. Was surprised him saying they do it for their own perverted sport. I maybe have a different interpretation of a pervert though
  21. Just be careful, dogs and hunting where a major factorin my marriage crumbling. Would give up everything to have things right again.
  22. Very nice, just how I pictured him. Keep us posted as he grows too.
