  1. Though the bloke did say he has three or four gens of the breeding ib the yard
  2. Really dont know, the fella delivered them up to me. Didnt see any pics of parents. The litter had nine in, most of them were brindles I think n the one white one. Yup they dont half squeal too haha. The add was on gumtree in belfast section, selling as whippets
  3. Was gonna ask why doesnt he have the pup still? Maybe im wasting them as general rabbit dogs then?
  4. U kno the fella that bred them? Or see any of these dogs run, interested to see them. The text he sent when I asked the names just said english fly x hope were the grandparents.
  5. Not into iphones, and have been hunting/shooting/fishing in various forme and fashions since I was old enough to do it. was only questioning the validity of the pups breeding claims was all
  6. Hahaha not heard that phrase before. Was looking a pot filler really, but if they have it in them to do more, ill giveem the chance. Though really need to look back into current legalities etc
  7. He didnt say, to b perfectly honest I took it to be him waffling on a bit. Fella was having to sell them because wasgoing abroad fr work the following week. Should have paid more attention really, didnt see parents as he brought them up to me half way. And yes, iI know im making myself sound stupid
  8. Only young, they'll not be ready for anything till this time next year. Just pleased that these might be well bred pups, as I got them as much fr pets as workers, my wee girl taken sn interest in it, but my old jrt is to much my dog and wont always listen to her when aying fetch. really have been impressed with them tbh, all except the little shits think the front room mat is a chew toy
  9. Bear in.mind here too. When.i say pups they are only 12 weeks old or so
  10. So woukd huck be the sire to these pups, please bear with the silly questions. Been off the site for years now and really just whetting the interest again that picture does loik similar to the brindle bitch I have here though. The other is white with brindle eye mask
  11. Coarse it, is that a member on here? Really cant complain about the pups, both bitches. Great looking pups, and have fairly high hopes for them. More as a general ferreting, mooching lamping companion. I have been.out the game for past four years so hopefully I can rrmember what to do ill add pics when I get working out how to from the phone. So these would be pups from this line then? Is there any images around of them, fir curiosity sake
  12. Please excuse my ignorance here folks. I bought a couple of pups recently, and was told that they are english fly x hope crossed back with a whippet. Was just wondering if this would be the same lines your talking about. I was informed english fly was well known, but this is the first referenc I have found wuth cursory searches. I got the pups off a fella down in belfast, stupidly didnt get his name though. Any one with any info' would be mostly appreciated, or even any pictures of the dogs if it is the same mating. Thanks all
  13. Is anyone familiar with the north antrim coast upto downhill. Looking to find likely marks and bait/rig advice. Just starting up again, one trip last year taking a couple of ballans and a gurnard at dunseverick, and sunday past by portstewart had a couple of dogs. Mainly into the rocky marks. Enjoying being out again, but wouldnt mind a few for the pot. Any tips and leads greatly appreciated.
  14. Sorry lads for not replying sooner, have no net at home and not been able to get to pc for access, unfortunately i dont have a camera or anyway of adding pics either. The way i have done it was set the loop and hold it in tension then wrap rest or wire around the fence, normally enough for 3 or 4 turns, then tie it secure with the cord that came with them, they seem to be pretty secure. SOme of the runs are bigger and smaller than others, but all are on the boundaries for slopes, so wasn't sure if i was getting the right height. One fence that looks most promising is awkward as it is on
  15. Started setting some fence snares this week, well used runs and seeing rabbits there daily. Got one the first morning but other than that nothing, some, particularly one has been moved nearly every time i check ( twice a day), thinking that maybe i set them too low, or to big a loop. I was advised to set at three fingers high. Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips to shorten the learning process, on tying them, setting them sizes etc Also there is a few kits up and round there as one jumped right through middle of snare looked at me and jumped back as i was checking the next
  16. I got a russell bitch i used for ferreting that i had to stop 2 years ago, cos she started entering that id love to try underground, but missed out past two seasons due to domestic stuff, shes coming 7, but think she would have a go, if i can get her a chance.
  17. like the idea of it, tempted to knock one up and try it when i camn lay my hands on some twine
  18. Thanks for all the help people. The dole would sort the sia, or any other courses really, if there was a secured job certain at the end of it, as in get the job lined and we'll pay then. which isn't a great help. MY lack of driving is shafting me at every turn, had a place all lined in a local pest control company, to be trained etc, but no car no job. same with doing any pest control for farmers, plus my russell, gashed herself yesterday so she's off now for a few weeks. i need to be driving to get better work, need the work to get driving. Have an interview on tues at an engineering co
  19. I haven't, as i haven't seen them advertise, but if its worth a shot i'll ring em tommorrow. Thanks very much
  20. Thanks very much for the tip off, I'm in maghera and don't drive. So it's a bit far, but i really appreciate the help. Tried the chicken farms local, but nothing going. Tried just about everyting local and it's just dead here.
  21. Thanks, hadn't thought of looking into agancies. Must look into it.
  22. I,m only out and about getting my terrier back on track for bushing, and even then i keep it down to once a week over ground with game on.
  23. Bit of a long shot, but worth a try does anyone know of any work going in the midulster maghera/felt area? Full time part time casual anything. Recently seperated and after trying to be amicable with my ex i have looked into solicitors advise. I will automatically be granted parental rights to my 3 year old daughter, but as I don't have transport and am stuck temporary on jobseekers, I won't be able to take advantage of this. Even though I'm only three miles away, it's a 10 taxi round trip. Can't keep seeing my wee girl at the mums house. Just need to get back on my feet and get life in
  24. Not been on for a while, due to domestic situation. Just putting a post up to say hope you all had a good season, pups and kits doing well. Nad to let the mods and admins know I'm still about and getting on when I can, so dont delete me
