  1. I use the ruger 77/22 in hornet calibre, never missed a beat, and more accurate than I can shoot also has a 1 :14 twist barrel so can use 50 grain bullets, and because they use a rotary mag rounds can be loaded longer --mine are 1.8" and still well off the lands--Have fun. LD
  2. Hi guys these are photos of the gun. Usual conditions apply for firearms.
  3. Hi mate, if you are shooting using a mag then you will be governed by the max length that will fit in it ( unless you single load ) my mate uses a CZ and max length is about 1.745" I use a ruger with the rotary mag, I can load to 1.8" for this. I think in both cases the bullet is at least 20thou off lands. Dont think it wise to put too close to lands because it may over pressure this little case. anyway cracking calibre ,have fun. LD
  4. Testing the water at the moment !. Started taking my grandson to our local HFT shoot, and got the bug myself , so was thinking about swapping my rimmy in exchange for a decent PCP air rifle and charging kit if possible must be .177 cal my rifle is the .22 CZ452 STYLE, which has a black synthetic stock and nickel plate action and barr
  5. Hi mate, I use a ruger 77/22 K hornet, cracking rifle & calibre, my mate has cz so seen both in action both do the job very well only advantage with the ruger is the 40gn v max can be seated longer and still fit in the rotary mag.Rabbits 200yds, fox 150 yds no problem. LD
  6. I clean mine after every outing, may be only 2 shots fired ( if out foxing ) or after a day at the range where i may fire 50 rounds, its just a personal thing. Cant say accuracy is effected even after range firing, as long as barrel is left to cool now and then. as said mine was purchased used and i must have put quite a thousand rounds through it by now and its still accurate even with my old eyes the other thing is they are much easier to clean than a fussy .17. Cheers. LD
  7. Hi mate, went through all this a few years ago, progressed from .22lr to .17hmr to .22hornet and finally .223 ! no need for a revisit but the feo ( right or wrong) may need to know reason for the change to centrefire, so best to give them a call prior to the change to explain! the other thing is that if your cert is now "open" condition they may insist on "closed" condition for the .223 for probationary period. if you have accompanied someone who hunts with a centre fire and if they would be willing to write a letter to confirm this they may waiver the probation period. Hope this helps, goo

  9. Just got a second hand hw 97 for my grandson, he has started to shoot hft. looked a little tatty so thaught i would strip it down and give it a good clean and relube i was pleasantly surprised to find that the rifle has had a full tune done at some stage of its life, the sleeve is blackerdised and has delrin inserts at both ens, the piston has been reduced in diameter with delrin rings just behind the piston seat and also at rear of piston cylinder seems very well done, just wondered if you guys would know what company would do this kind of work?? could it be the old lazer glide tune ? The
