Sorry guys, did not explain myself very well when i said target shooting i dont mean serious stuff just the odd bit of paper punching, and milk jugs ect... used to have a .223 but sold it early this year, i use my .22K hornet for fox now, just fancied something a bit different .. ThanksAgain...

  6. hi. Anyone now where I can get some bolt shims for my ruger 77/22 hornet, l know they sell them in the states but would prefer from uk.. Cheers. LD
  7. hi mate, could well be the mounts as said, but if you are shooting with a mod fitted its worth trying a few shots without the mod, I know point of aim may be different but if its nearer centre then bullets could be just shaving the exit of the mod ---worth a try LD
  8. .17 hmr = 245ft lbs energy @ muzzle .22 hornet= 750ft lbs energy @ muzzle.. if reloaded can get to 850ft lbs.. No comparison !!
  9. Hi mate, is it a 30mm tube & does it have ir Cheers.
  10. hi mate, cant tell from the pic, is it the pigs ear type, is it the soft rubber. Cheers LD
  11. THE .22K hornet case is different to the standard hornet in as much that it has a defined shoulder similar to all other centre fire calibres, not the long taper of the standard hornet. the case can hold more powder , and the reloading dies are different... the K hornet can fire a standard hornet round with no problem, and when fired the case is formed into K configuration.. the standard hornet rifle cannot fire a K round.. LD
  12. hi mate, if you buy factory ammo then the hornet is not cheap to run in fact about the same as .223. but when it comes to reloading the hornet takes literally half the powder of a .223 and this is where you gain!! the choice between the hornet and .223 for fox is probably based on the conditions of use, if your permissions have huge fields which allow foxes to be shot safely at greater distances say 300 yds then the 223 is the tool for the job, but if like my permissions fields are 150yds max then the hornet has more than enough grunt and is much quieter imo.. As I have said I have used both
  13. Nearly all the fox I shoot are around 100 to150 yds, so for that reason sold my .223 and I now use my .22k hornet every time.. cracking round, cheap to reload, lightweight to carry and very quiet when moderated. Very underrated round energy is about 750 ft / lbs much much more that hmr. LD
  14. Anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement magazine for my ruger 77/22 in .22 hornet calibre. Seen them advertised in the states, but wondered if any in uk.. Cheers. LD PS. I know its a long shot :boogy:but anyone have one spare for sale.....
