    Same here, Applied for a variation 5 weeks ago, had a call yesterday from FEO to say all ok and ticket on way back to me, no home visit required. Happy Days. LD

    i have a hornet for fox out to 200 yds max very good round imo,but if you want to shoot further i recently spoke to a proffessional fox controller and the best dedicated fox rifle he uses is a 204 cal , very little recoil, very flat and fast and he rekons affected less by wind than the .223.. I have Just put a variation in for one LD You won't be disapointed with the .204, if you plan to reload when you get the rifle pm me and i will give you the details of the best powder and loads to use. cheers mate, appreciated.. ld

    Just sent for variation to have a .204 Ruger.. I will be reloading and will do some trials of my own, but wondered if any guys who already reload for this can give me some pointers regarding best powder, bullets, oal.... etc Cheers. LD

    Hi Fella, i have been taking medication for anxiety for over 10 years and had no problem with renewal or initial grant, dont try to hide anything just tell them how it is !! As long as you dont have a criminal record or family issues you should be ok. Just remember there are millions of people taking some kind of medication for this illness just unfortunate we are among them.. Dont give up. LD

    Hi guys, some good constructive points made on this topic, I have been keeping my ear to the ground and have narrowed in down to two contenders... My local rfd has a Howa in 204 cal it comes with removable mag, reloading dies and about 100 cases ( not sure how many fireings ) price to be negotiated !! The other is a .223 cz 1 in 9 twist, with T8 mod & a few rounds, wants about £450 for it... what you rekon 204 combo is worth ?? still got to make up my mind . LD

    Sorry guys should have explained better. Long range to me is shooting out to a maximum of 500yds or so, been looking at the 204 on you tube and just thought it looked good. I except there are other calibres that will be just as good or better, don't really want to use a calibre with brass is hard to come by or expensive to reload. Also want it to double up asa foxing rifle.. still open to info... thanks.

    Thinking on doing a bit of target long range shooting,the 204 cal looks pretty usefull, anyone have experience with this cal, pros and cons availability of ammo etc Cheers.

    Hi.. Have a hawke endurance 3-12 x 56 ir scope with the la4 dot. looking to swap for scope about same money but with a 44mm or 50mm objective. Endurance looks far to big on my little hornet!!! Excellent condition with original box and screw in lens caps. would like about 12 to 16 magnification.. Thanks for looking. LD. OR WILL SELL FOR £135 POSTED--INCLUDES 30MM PICATINNY MOUNTS.

    Hi mate ,Imo to get the best from a hornet you will need to reload, much much cheaper and you can work up the best load for your rifle, had a ruger hornet some years now and love it , good on fox out to 200 yds which is plenty for my permissions . I actually sold my .223 ( to much gun ) and kept the hornet don't regret it one little bit. LD
