    hi

gday mate, haha, did i get you on here???
  3. just run two packs if you want to do both i know a bloke that runs stags on everything, and then has pigdogs dedicated for pigs. that way his stags get a run, then he works the arabs then the stags
  4. some jsut dont get on, ive got a albino jill here that doesnt get on with 2 other jills, they always fighting with her, yet with the other albino jill she is fine
  5. yeah kinda funny that about the price, ud think made closer it would be cheaper here you can buy beer that has come from all over europe for cheaper then you can buy one particular beer here that is made in my state... bloody crazy
  6. yeah spun me out too, eyes not even open yet they seem to be able to smell the food and head straight for it, then chomp away
  7. mate im doing this, giving the jill a drink of lactose free milk, or an egg, or taking her out and putting her in a small pet cage while i feed the kits(4 weeks old last friday) the kits are hoeing into the food, i was giving a little beef mince, now im giving a bit of mutton. My jill will mouth me now, but wont bite, in fact im sure she looks forward to me coming in there as she gets a treat when i do - milk, egg etc etc i also make sure after they have eaten their fill(which is very little mind you) that the jill goes into there and finishes off the meat straight away so it dont go b
  8. for the handheld 240 they are $149 from memory.. not sure what that is in pounds tho, i guess an exchange rate site would tell you that ok i just went had a look 59.8733 GBP is what it works out to be
  9. good light, but make sure you keep the lense scratch free, they scratch easy and that then deteriorates the light. ive got 4 of them, two 240 blitzs, and two 170's. The reason i have so many is it costs nearly the same amount to replace the lense as it does to buy a whole new unit(here in australia, i imagine your in the same boat) i also have a powa beam, brilliant light, its brighter and 11 inches in diameter(not a handheld mind you)
  10. i always feed mine a light meal on my way to ferreting, ive found they dont lay up really at all, just what works for me. ive tried not feeding and the first thing they do is kill and then lay up i think if you asked 10 blokes what they do you'd get 10 different answers IMO
  11. nah the bloke im thinking off is not you ol swamper mate
  12. have seen pics from a american staghound to an airedale, bloody impressive looking dogs, the blokes name was eggy, not sure if he is on here, he was on the EDRD forum, which is one of the places ive seen his pics
  13. they say in a good year there can be more feral pigs is oz then ppl, up to 24million they reckon
  14. who said they were from working homes anyway? who knows where they come from where i am from there is rarely ferrets in the paper for more then a few weeks, it seems they dont breed huge numbers here like over there. and they cost a hell of a lot more over here, from $50-100 each
  15. my old hob was big, not as big as his dad tho, that was the biggest ferret i had ever seen. Mine was nto long, but solid as hell, he used to grab the rabbits at the base of the ear and hang on, any sensible rabbit would bolt if they got out of his grip, used to get rabbits out that i knew he had been on. personally i prefer jills, but each to their own, i'm getting another hob this year from new blood.
  16. http://apdha.org.au/ there you go mate, go there and look at the app form yeah who would of thought, if you said that to me a week ago i woudlnt of believed you haha, pretty dry around there, but after the last week of funny weather over that side i'd believe anything.
  17. mates dog used to cough, but only in one town, anyway he had a long run one day, and coughed since then for weeks, he ended up dying at the vet overnight... they did say he has a very large heart, we reckon he was born with the problem. Also know of a relative of this dog, who also died from a heart problem
  18. so did you go to the shows? there is a guy on a few oz hunting forums who lives in tas, who does a bit of dog work from memory, pm me and i'll point you in the direction of the forums if you want
  19. hey fellas, how are we all good to see some familar faces on here, just got some pics from brother Callan of some of the roodogs, i think you were in there too stevemac stabs, would you consider joining the apdha? since you are coming over here, that way you can keep in contact with some of them fellas you are talking about, as they are on that forum. also, i was thinking of setting up a running dog forum for us Aussie fellas, just to keep in contact... was going to do it with a free one to start wtih till we all decide if we want to set something up officially etc edit:
  20. ive noticed the same, sometimes digging in hard ground will get them out as they must be curious and have a look, has worked for me before. I find sprinkling water in one of the entrances the most effective way, but its a lot hotter here then over there so may not be as efffective. water always works for me
  21. lol @ frank and bigbob haha, funny as so how hard do you find it to get onto golf courses, im thinking of approaching one local to me to see if I can offer my services
