  1. lovely looking saluki, would be a sight to see on theo open field on the ass of a hare i can imagine WHin, thanks for writing about the cunninghams etc, interesting reading, i read about them in dutch's book. Dutch wrote a few articles for me for the kangaroo dog site too.. check it out http://www.kangaroodog.org
  2. yes thats exactly what im saying, as opposed to a tightly line bred bunch of dogs where they all come out very similar, with similar attributes etc etc
  3. first x a gamble as to how it will throw, eg more to the collie, or more to the greyhound primarily thats what i mean some of our roo dogs ancestry goes back many human generations, not as long as purebreds but... but then thats decades and decades of being bred with performance in mind... hunting performance anyway this topics been done to death a million times, i'll stick with my dogs, you with yours, and everyone else with everyone elses dogs just wish ppl would look for the working blood oh while im on the subject.. an example would be this, the first x deer/grey now that
  4. quite easily the greyhound must of worked, and its parents worked the collie, well i dont know a lot about them, i guess you want a working bred collie, bred to do what collies do a first x may be a bit of a gamble you could say... i think the reasson hes also still selling pups is because the first x etc must throw reasonably similar types of dogs... if you gave him two very good workers and he pumped out litters and litters from the litters etc it would probably be more noticeable the decline in the quality of the working dogs just MO but
  5. from waht ive read i'll give you an opionion stay away from them, get something thats been selectively bred worker to worker and should if they do it right end up with a much higher % of working dogs, not only that but they should be able to tell you hwo the pups should turn out etc etc i will never get a pup from non working lines also IMO when someone starts putting $ before dogs, then i see issues... not only that but his website doesnt even state he works his dogs, that would have alarm bells ringing to me so loud it would be deafening!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. got both of them here just the other day, only watched alittle bit but they look bloody good basically send out retrievers and they bring the yotes back, then are shot

    Bio Diesel

i use biodiesel here in australia, same mileage, same power, just cheaper only downside is the smell, you get so bloody hungry from it, smells like fish and chips
  9. haha those big reds can be grumpy b*****ds too at times Perth is ok, its the most isolated city in the world they say!! we have just come out of a record heat wave too, most days of 35degree's celcius in a row or something like that. game wise, qld is probably a decent place to be, lots of feral pigs depending on hwere you are Western australia is booming at the moment, mining is going off, big demand for tradies also as far as heat goes, teh further north you go the hotter it is, the more inland you go the hotter it is again... an example my dad was in south australia at some
  10. good stuff fella, dont blame you for working the dogs haha
  11. and so many of you wonder why ya dogs are not up to scratch and why so many end up in rescues etc breed good dog to good dog, and nothing less

  16. heres how i do it have dogs in the back of the ute, unchained, so they can jump off when they want drive around spotlighting(lamping u lot call it) till quarry is spotted, get in a suitable position if possible, tell the dog to get on and follow quarry with the light till the dog makes a catch at times we walk, with dogs on leads and then let them chase, or i will walk with dog off lead to hunt up for himself and spotlight whether i hunt with 1,2,3 or more doesnt matter and yes EAT what you can, i hate waste, i try and use as much as possible
