why not just look at the yote hounds that have been bred to run, catch and kill for generations? they have borzoi, deerhound and greyhound primarily in their makeup from what ive read they dont use saluki much, they dont like something that bites back wish we had them here, closest thing we have to them is dingoes, ive never run dingoes, i understand doubled up with them is best, the other thing would be wild dogs over here ive heard of ppl running them, never seen pics etc of it

not that im an an expert with ferrets, but in short it will make no difference to him being a pet mine work and are 100% with me(the 2 working ones are, have a young kit thats learning) SimonW from this site can probably tell you more about them, ive seen one of his vids, his work all the time and u see how he handles them, they dont mind at all
-
why not get him out there and getting him having a look, they truly love it then again those that dont know, will never know what their missing, i guess they'll just wonder about their instincts
-
not with a head full of antlers anyway lol i thought our game was hard, ive often wondered about those reds, they have a rack on them dont they

yeah a bit bigger in size then what you boys are all using, i know some of you run big dogs but isnt the general ideal size over there 24inches? he should do alright, my mate has a cousin to this dog, and he had his uncle before that, we got all 3 dogs from different ppl to, so hows that for a line that gets around as far as i know there is nothing but sighthound in him, his coat looks a bit strange, with the mask, neither parents had the marking, the mother was a dark black, with yellow undercoat, the male was a yellow, with white paws and white tip to tail, the mother was more of the

here he is at about 7 and a bit months old, he's grown an inch since then, he stands 27in to the shoulder need to get some better pics, im a crap photographer, lol, but i am getting better he would be 8.5-9 months old maybe, caught his first bunny about 2 months ago, on the lamp basically we had been driving around, the other dog stayed at home that night, he was not so keen on getting out(deerhound had a few runs the night before on fox and larger game, and chased bunnies in the morning) anyway the dogs had been out that afternoon to and had a big run, my boy had ran to but lo

longdog, can you post any pics of your american staghounds? keen to see em, ive seen some real nice looking stags from over there, they are similar to our staghounds here(they are called more and more staghounds over here, but their type is also called kangaroo dogs)
-
any updated pics you can post?
-
maybe our cats are different to urs there, but i highly doubt i'd put my dog onto a fully fledged feral cat here, ive sene pics of cats as big as foxes, one metre in length from head to tip of tail(the pics are old as tho, not recent) stray cats are different besides i get more pleasure out of sending a little lead pill their way i can relate to the way the cats curl up when grabbed, i just dont want to risk them loosing an eye, or in the least damaging one more then happy for them to go against something that weighs more then them, and is as tall as me but cats i'd rather avoi

I noticed the other day when looking my jill over whos been scrapping a bit the the new jill that she has a bit of plague on her teeth what is the best way of keeping their teeth clean they get rabbit and kitten biscuits(iams) i generally cut the rabbit up with old garden shears, they get the bones and all also what do you think about feeding them split rabbit heads, any of you done this?

this is the reason why i have 3, i have read that if you have 2 and one dies the other one can die from grief if you have 3 and one dies they other two have company still and you can introduce another one
-
yes $50 for a 10 week old kit ive seen them from $40 to $100 here, i paid for mine the following $90 for a silver mitt jill $50 for a poley hob $40 for a albino jill not finger trained the $40 one was from working stock, the other lot were not u guys got it good over there, im suprised really that such a good animal is so cheap ive heard of a guy over here in australia that has 50 or more jills, breeds them all every year and does not sell them for less then $50 a piece, bloody ferret farmer
-
if u want something cheaper, then u cant beat a desktop, not over here anway, u get a lot faster computer for your $$$ here laptops run slower, HDD spin slower, cost a lot more to get fixed. Games wise desktops are better, well for newer games anyway but then if ur short for space, then u cant beat a laptop by the sounds of it eitehr way u'll be sweet

australian roo dogs/staghounds primairly have greyhound and deerhound, bit of wolfhound, borzoi, and also some other breeds, ive heard of ACD being used in the old timers, depending on how they were hunting having said that the primary quarry was roos, foxes and hares, they didnt have large fields to work in back then, a lot of running from what ive read about was in semi open terrain, a lot of bush(you call it woods there, our woods are very different to what we have tho) a dog that could navigate this terrain was essential, possibly through this they got the dogs that came to be, si

Hey Jdarcy, still havent got your book, my mate over there has it and hasnt sent it over yet, bloody looking forward to reading it tho! I reckon the cheeky shits been having a nosey lol
-
or u could do what they do here in australia with kangaroo ball sacks, sell em to tourists!! i also have heard of roo balls being a delicacy in restaurants
-
what did dogs used to eat before they made dog biscuits? theres ur answer mate
-
try this(you need small bones for this, or cut up) get two identical bowls let the dog see one, then put the bone where the dog can see it, then place it in the bowl, put the empty bowl quickly on the floor and the dog will rush in, see nothing then place the bone bit in the bowl, let him eat it then place some more in then some more do this a few times, then get your kids to do it a few times while you watch dog will soon learn that kids near the food means he gets more should help anyway
-
if ur worried about eggs raw whack it in a cup with some boiling water for a few minutes, that is what i srecommended by a greyhound vet over here in oz anyway i feed them to the ferrets, but very seldom(i like eggs lol) the dogs also get them, if i drop one or whatever, i also stick one over the food sometimes
-
farkin hell u lot got it easy over there, here we pay from $40 to 100 per ferret i woudlnt pay more then 50 tho per ferret now, my first one was a silver mitt and cost me 90 im about to go look at some ferrets from a working line, 2 x 12wk old albinos at $40, 1 x started jill albino 18m/o at $40 and a bunch of sable jills from 3-5y/o working at $50 each if i ever breed any they will go to hunters i know for free, only to hunters tho

mate they use collie, bull, greyhound crosses in new zealand to good effect so i dont see why not here mate personally i'd rather see you take the place to some dodgy person from another country anyday
-
just come over here bloke, u'll get a job no worries if u dont like the heat then stay coastal, and donw the bottom half of the country, or get a office job in a nice airconditioned place that is not far from home WA is good, plenty of space over this side, its 1/3 of the country and has f**k all population the only other places id consider myself would be either queensland or northern territory, but they are hot etc there is more game over east too, plenty here but not as much as over there from what i can gather
