  1. You were lucky mate! This thread gives me food for thought as ive a lot of cattle on one of my perms at the moment. Will be more careful after reading this..
  2. I own a Bowkett blueprintedr10 mk1 and its probably the best pcp ive owned.
  3. Yes i shot one they flew around landed i shot another. Carried on like this until i had cleared this particular barn.
  4. I have a Mora clipper (great knife) and use ezelap files in medium, fine and extra fine. I use these on all my knives and get a very good edge.
  5. Cz get my vote picked mine up from a dealer for £250 with 2 metal five shot mags . Only thing ive done to it is fit a Yodave trigger kit which transformed accuracy at range.. I only use 17 grain Hornady ammo as i found 20 grain ammo to 'shoot through' more often than not.
  6. I use the same battery. larger than the little blue batterys but much better imo as the leads are more robust. Mine has never run flat on me either.
  7. I had a good nights shooting with the r10 the other night. Only took 20 minutes or so to shoot these.
  8. I use a Mora clipper mine came shaving sharp and is ideal for unzipping bunnies and de-breasting pigeons. Only other knife i use is an opinel. Both knives are very easy to sharpen.
  9. Sent my old Bsa Ultra via royal mail a few months ago with no problems they didnt ask what was in the package so i didnt tell them.
  10. I get £1.50 a rabbit gutted from a guy who makes pet food out of them.
  11. Saw a jet black rabbit yesterday on a rape field i was checking for pigeon. I also see the odd black one on another permission so fairly common sight here.
  12. Ive had fac air and got rid after a couple of years as i found myself using hmr and 22lr a lot more. I also have sub 12ft air for ratting around barns and rabbit control in areas where the rimmies arn't suitable.
  13. I bought my ns200 over a year ago after trying out an n550 and having an ns200 for two weeks on loan. Im still very happy with the ns200 as for me personally its a better system than the n550 as i use different rifles for different applications so dont have to worry bout rezero'ing if i swap between rifles.
  14. Hi mate, What fishing gear you after? Got a Mint preston carbonactive 11ft 2 piece feeder rod with three tips and a few other bits. Just let me know what your after if interested..
  15. My truck has Daka's on at the moment. Only cover max 4k miles a year so wear not a problem. They have been excellent in the mud and snow.
  16. I had a .25 'Eli' that was running at 30ft lb when i bought it but i dropped the ram presure to 26ft lb and it was a nicer beast to shoot but still interesting to cock in the prone! Mine was seriously accurate with H&n ftt's and i could head shot bunnies at a lazed 60yds. They do take skill to shoot due to the recoil but give a lot of satisfaction. Scope you want a Simmons pro-air. Seriously tough and more than capable of taking the recoil for the big Eliminator. Pic of my old one below.
  17. I have the pelt of a dog fox i shot a couple of years ago a friend of mine 'tanned' it for me. He did a good job but the pelt does shrink slightly during the tanning process.
  18. I know what you mean mate they are shite. I bought a really nice blueprinted bsa r10 off another forum. It was sent via parcel force 24hr on the thursday at 5pm didnt arrive at mine until the following monday at 2.30pm. 24hr delivery my arse!!
  19. If Mr Bowkett has had his hands on your Ultra it will be very accurate and consistent. I bought an r10 last week that has been blue printed by JB and its a cracking rifle it even has the edge on accuracy over my Ultra which itself is very accurate. Just to add my Ultra is standard and i get 35 useable shots which is usually enough unless im shooting on my more productive rat shoots.
  20. Ive never bothered much with bait all my rat perms are in and around grain barns and they seem pre-occupied with the grain.
  21. Good advice already on here. I shoot as soon as it starting to get dark partly because the farmyard isnt as busy and as already stated keeping as quiet as possible is the best tactic. I tend to wait at know hotspots shooting off sticks or if possible (lazy version!) from my truck window.
  22. Totally agree i use mtc scopes on my rimmies in conjunction with the ns200 . Just to add on my airrifles im using Hawke panoramas another good scope to use with the nitesite.
  23. Glad to hear she turned up mate. I lost my Cocker 5 miles from home just before Christmas. I spent 6 days frantically looking for the little bugger for him to turn up scratch at the door at 1.30 in the morning waking me up. Bloody relief i can tell you so i know how you feel.
