Nitesite NS200......a little gem.
optelic2 replied to Sweeney-Todd's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I missed the Nitesite demonstration at my local gunshop but the owner was good enough to lend me the shops ns200 demo unit which ive been using for the past week. I currently use a sony handycam/n1000 i.r laser set up but after using the ns200 for a week i want one! I really like the heads up shooting position with the ns200 its much easier scanning for rabbits than looking through the cam/scope set up. The field of view is also much better than the camcorder/scope. You also use the scope's zoom with the ns200 rather than the camcorder zoom. The only other set up i considered was the n550 -
For me it has to be Londonanistan. Used to work there on a regular basis. Absolute shithole couldnt wait to get out of the place. My wife is originally from Eltam South East London but would never move back She still has family there but i rarely visit think the last time was 3/4 years ago.. Londanistan is closely followed by Blackpool.. What an awfull shithole full of seedy pubs/clubs/ b&b's ,full of drunken middle aged stag/hen parties. The place has no class whatsoever.

Rapid every time for me. Ive had three legal limit rapids in the past and now own an fac lothar match barrelled mk1 rapid which is 13 years old but shoots sub 1" groups at 45yds and hasnt shot a bad group with any of the pellets ive tried. I very briefy owned a mk2 s10 and wasnt impressed and thought it a poor mans rapid although have to admit the new r-10's look very nice .

Ive had a 3.5-10x40 WTC for many years and has been mounted on many rifles including legal limit air and rimmie's. Its now on my fac rapid and i also have a 1.5-5x20 WTC on my ratting combo. Excellent scopes with very good optics as long as you buy the old philipino build model and not the chinese built rubbish.

The s16 is a pcp air rifle a 22lr is a 22 rimfire bullet gun

At this time of the year if the lake is deep i would use a mix of sensas lake with some dead pinkies/red maggots/casters mixed in through a block end feeder or through a cage feeder if the lake is fairly shallow.Use a 12" 3lb hooklength and cast every 20 mins or so depending on bites.

That's correct Mick, i have tried it but would say its good for rat shooting not long range shooting Would you say it would be adequate for rabbits to say 50yds? Im thinking of buying one of the Pulsar units for ratting as i have a 1.5-5x20 simmons wtc on my sub 12ft lb webley lite w-8 but would also like to use it on my fac rapid (simmons 3.5-10x50 WTC) for rabbits. I tend not to use much more than x5 mag when lamping and dont find myself shooting much more than 40yds or so. rgds Mick

Got an AWT on my fac rapid and very pleased with it. On my Welbey lite w-8 ive got a sak which is adequate but will soon replace it with a Weihrauch.

This sounds like it was pretty good! Ive got it on the 'planner' will get around to watching it sometime this weekend.

My .22 fac (30ft lb)rapid seems to like most pellets but is especially accurate with 16g aa fields and even better with the new 18g aa diablo field plus. Accupels also group very well and at 30yds rws hollow points and bisley pest control also group well although past 30yds they start to open up.. Bisley mags group very well but i dont bother to use them for hunting as they have a more pronounced drop between 30 and 45yds as they are such a heavy pellet. I did also try some Napier pellets but found them very hard to chamber in my rapid. My legal limit ratting combo is a .22 webley lite w-8

Ive read on another forum that the little simmons 1.5-5x20 WTC is also very useable with the Pulsar. Rgds Mick

Ive owned a 2003 model td5 disco for the last 2 years and love it! Only problem i had was that shortly after buying it i had to replace the fuel pressure regulator which is a common problem on td5's. Mine has no aircon or ACE which is how i wanted it (as already mentioned less to go wrong!) Max mpg on a run is around 30mpg. I owned a diesel fourtrack before and even though it was a great shooting waggon the td5 is in a different league being a much smoother drive especially on long runs (turbo is a little laggy but im used to it)and also has much more room. Ive also found it to be excellent

Excellent thread! I was an avid pike angler for many years (until i got the match fishing bug ). I always used to try and give advice on pike handling as the amount of people young and old who would hook a pike and then try to unhook it often with totally inadequate equipment was pretty common. As already mentioned pike are suprisingly fragile fish and poor unhooking techniques often result in a dead fish. Atb Mick

Nothing wrong with the Webleys but try to buy a pre anti tamper one as they are much easier to work on if you have a problem or if you just want to service it. My webley lite w-8 (essentially the same as the raider) had an anti tamper bolt in place at the rear of the scope rail block which was a real pain to remove but now enables me to do a full strip down.

Now that is a cracking little rifle and an 'Uber' ratting combo -
I use a .22 8 shot webley lite w-8 with a simmons 1.5-5x20 wtc scope. Its the perfect lightweight combo for ratting. Ive owned an s410 and they are really good too.

aas410 vs rapid 7 vs hw100
optelic2 replied to tattey's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
All three are great rifles imo and ive owned all three at one time or another but my vote has to go to the rapid 7. Ive had three non fac in the past but now own a 30ft lb .22 mk1. They are easy to work on and a real work horse. I have to add ive never bought a pcp brand new and never will while there are such good s/h deals out there. -
what motors are you all going lamping in
optelic2 replied to lurchermania's topic in 4x4's, Quads & ATV's
Ive got a 53 plate Disco td5. Cracking waggon that goes anywhere although i do miss my old fourtrack sometimes.
