  1. Nice read Mush..... Very unique style of hand.... What you after? Oh and thanks for the curtains.
  2. There seems to be a fair few threads relating in exercising dogs, and how much they get each day. I've not seen within these posts on how much Rest a dog receives. I'm a firm believer that rest is just important as exercising. Be interesting to see what your views are on this subject.
  3. Get some bloody wellies on ya feet son! A nice deerhoundy type.
  4. Does anyone know of any good online suppliers of mince/chicken/meat for dogs? My local supplier has informed me that he will be hanging his boots up at the end of the month. Cheers.
  5. I could bring my dogs and then that camera of yours could take some snaps of real working dogs...... Hope you have a wide lens camera Roxy......................
  6. Lovely dog there and a great start. As mentioned before, to be part of the numbers game is very silly. Enjoy your dog and your outings with it. It will be those days you treasure the most, than how many you got in the bag.
  7. Glad your getting out there now Vin. A few runs is better than nothing. Well done mate.
  8. Stanleigh, I don't go out there to specifically take pheasants, but if the dog finds one or two then fair play, and I will enjoy eating them. Now if someone was putting their dogs onto poults then posting "Yeah great look what my dog has caught" then that's But sometimes a poult may be caught. I can also see the other side to rearing and releasing these birds, it's hard work, time and £££. My dogs work for me, they find and they catch, I take and I eat it. Nothing goes to waste. Like I said in my post, "Some may find this offensive" I'm not messing with anyones sport........
  9. Good Job John/Jay. Some would of given up and gone home. Well done.
  10. The dog did really well find them. Yes there was feathers pulled out, not many mind you. I've looked at Birds post/photos, you'll be surprised how a lurchers mouth can be very soft.

  16. Stanleigh, good guess! Hedz, it was all that talk last night about Baboon hunting, what you like........... Johnny, cheers mate. No, no write up this time..... I get ripped each time! There as good as each other John, but yes at the minute he's filling that bag whilst the other is on the mend. Labs, wind your neck in and get a real dog! Good posts chaps, and thanks.
  17. I think it makes a refreshing change when our dogs take a bird or two. In last two days my deerhound cross has put a bird or two in the bag for the pot. Still young, he is quite clever and will enter the thickest of cover if needed. Here is a few he had caught for me this morning during a fresh mornings walk on the farm. There are no shoots on this particular piece of land, but I see many pheasants roaming around on a regualar basis, so it's a nice little bonus when a bird is swiftly caught. Some may be offended by using a dog to take a bird or two.
