  1. rabbits on golf courses run extremely quickly and can turn better on the short grass than a dog.

    lurcher

She had seen nothing, been nowhere, done nothing and wasnt for sale. The bloke had twenty odd dogs and would have been shot because she hadnt made big enough for him. She was 24" by the way which i think is big enough. I persuaded him to let me have her just to give her a chance really as i dont think being 24" warrants being shot. I brought her home and started to socialise her, exercise her etc and spent quite a bit of time with her daily for about 6 months, but it eventually became obvious she had suffered psycologically and was doubtfull she would recover from the 14 months of abuse she ha

This is a bitch i had off someone last year 7/8 greyhound 1/8 bull 14 months when i got her. Turned out absolutely f***ing useless.
  4. sad news.!!!! Lovely looking bitch aswell.
  5. hes a saluki greyhound mother was half cross saluki/greyhound dad was 3/8 greyhound 5/8 saluki shouldnt go far wrong with that, keep us posted on his progress, good luck with him.
  6. 1/4 greyhound blood, 1/8 bedlington and 5/8 bull, tells its own story as far as i am concerned however if i am wrong in 14 months or so i will hold my hand up. Looking at the breeding i reckon they will be too cloddy and slow but i dont really care they wont be eating my dog food. Good luck with them.
  7. Heres mine at 9 1/2 months, they are 11 months now.
  8. rabbits maybe nope, i reckon i could run faster than what the offspring of that pair will produce. Unless of course the rabbits happen to be in your kitchen.!!!!
  9. Thats unfortunate.!!!! I cant think of anything they could be usefull for can you.??
  10. I have voted proven worker, however in my opinion you have missed the most crucial element out of the poll. When i breed a litter it is for my own use only so i want to give any pups i breed every chance possible and that to me means taking my bitch to a proven PRODUCER of good stock. How many times have we seen excellent working dogs produce mediocre or sub standard progeny. If i am producing a litter every 4 or 5 years i want to use the best producing stud dog available not "Bill down the roads dog" who is a good worker but never sired a pup.
  11. i asked the same question about the north west a while ago and was advised to look in the country mans weekly.
  12. one of my pups at 9 1/2 months old.
  13. They run hares in the summer because the dogs they own cannot catch a strong winter hare.
  14. what a stupid post they all have them cos there hardy ya can run them on glass. red hot coles. they never tire .they run knocked up and bit up and there the best cross you can get thats why I really must get to see one of these paragons of canine virtues because in all honesty the examples i have seen have been shite.!!!!! Far to slow, no wind, turn like the Qe2 and as for hares forget it. Thats my experience of them anyway, but i live in hope of actually seeing one of these good ones i keep hearing about. However i won,t hold my breath as the saying goes.
  15. Thanks i havent had the countrymans for a long time but i,ll get one tuesday.
  16. should make very usefull pups, ideal lamping dogs, just hope the pups inherit your dogs ears and not the pricked ones on your mates bitch.
  17. Are there any lurcher shows (and when) in the north west, i havent been to one for about 25 years. Are they still the same, clowns getting full of beer and scuffling over who has the better dog.????? ( when in reality niether are worth feeding ) I fancy going to a couple this year, used to trail all over the place to them in the summer, Lambourne was allways entertaining.
  18. As i commented in a previous topic, i personally have never seen a bull cross worth me keeping. That however does not mean there are none, i simply have not come across one. On the other hand i have owned and seen a lot of very good Bedlington crosses and in my opinion something like Bedlington/Greyhound - Whippet/Greyhound or a 3/4 bred Bedlington/Greyhound would make an ideal all rounder but as said it depends on what is required from the dog.
  19. If i had a first cross i would go to something with speed ie: whippet/greyhound or 3/4 greyhound 1/4 saluki or a good greyhound and i reckon the pups would be excellant all rounders.
  20. I use beta greyhound and the dogs do well on it.
