  1. You can have cartridges of any sort delivered to your house if buying from outside the uk, the vcr act is only applicable in the uk.
  2. Yep! i knocked the old lamp+ wires+ battery pack on the head 3 yrs ago. I have 3 xsearchers and a t20. Two xsearchers are with i/r pills as is the T20 for my n/v gear, the other is for lamping with coloured leds but to be honest i can't remember the last time i did that, i just use n/v on everything.
  3. On mine it lists all my rifles IE: the .22 air rifle, .22lr x 2, 17 hmr, .204 x 2, .243, and .270 and sound mods shall be used to shoot Deer and any lawfull quarry. So as far as i am concerned as long as i am using the correct calibre i can shoot anything that is legal to do so..
  4. I have shot and killed plenty of deer with my .243, i also use it for fox on occasion launching 55grn bullets in excess of 4,000 fps which will be flatter and faster than your 22.250 with more energy.
  5. Either of the Hornets or a .204 for her as all have markedly less recoil than .223. If she is flinching she won't be able to hit a cows arse with a banjo.
  6. i have a hornet for fox out to 200 yds max very good round imo,but if you want to shoot further i recently spoke to a proffessional fox controller and the best dedicated fox rifle he uses is a 204 cal , very little recoil, very flat and fast and he rekons affected less by wind than the .223.. I have Just put a variation in for one LD You won't be disapointed with the .204, if you plan to reload when you get the rifle pm me and i will give you the details of the best powder and loads to use.
  7. 40grn ammo in a .223 is a good combo, i used federal premium 40grn when i had a .223, fast, relatively flat and accurate but £1.50p a shot sort of spoiled it.
  8. Where has Marty gone? The mods have obviously removed two pics, shame it has to take mods to think about it.
  9. Don't bother with a nightforce, i had one and got shut of it quickly. I compared it side by side with my mates meopta at a third the price and the meopta was much better glass.
  10. I tested a T50 back to back with a n/m 800 a few weeks ago and in comparison the T50 was pants, it also weighs about three times as much.
  11. Depends how far you want to shoot, for rats/rabbits at air or rimfire ranges then a T20 or T38 will do the job. For fox at centre fire ranges i use either a n/m 800 or the n/m xsearcher.
  12. If you mean vaugn at pilling don't bother, i wouldn't let him put a brush head on. Bond and Bywater can do it for you Preston 01772 258980.
  13. From memory i think it's the 65mm you can get in, the 70mm won't fit. It all depends on how accurate the magazine tube has been crimped as to whether they will fit or not , they won't in my Berretta extrema2.
  14. Your never going to get five years for it unless you are in a nightclub with a pistol. I have known of several people getting between nine months and two years for possesing unlicensed shotguns. One bloke who had a license but had three off ticket .410's aswell was fined £1200 and his license revoked. BUT why risk anything, if you have a genuine need for a high capacity shotgun ie: crop protection just apply for a section 1 and you will get it no problem. Several years ago my son bought a Baikal mp153 and by accident we discovered you could put three in the mag. I took it back
  15. The choice will probably be ultimately dictated by ammunition availability. Having owned both calibres i wouldn't hesitate in choosing the .204 imo far superior to the .223. However, if you don't reload or there is a distinct lack of .204 ammo in your locality then it would be a pointless purchase, or at the very least awkward. Ammo for the .223 is generally more widely available with a much greater choice. Have you considered .243 aswell, using 55grn or 58grn ammo it is as flat shooting as the .204 but with more energy However you wouldn't want to do much paper punching with it u
  16. TBH your claims hold up for heavier ammo 40gr .204 vs 55gr .22-250 if you run it through gun data. However, from memory several above were listing 32gr as the ammo of choice for the .204, and if you use the lighter ammo, then the energy is way less for the .204 at distance. I would say therefore that the paper data suggests the splash issues some people have found are probably associated with the lighter ammo. Kind of hard without extended field testing or evidence from somewhere of bullets grains vs splash occurrence. Must admit though, the fact that it happens at all, doesn't inspire
  17. A couple of years ago i did a side by side comparison between the lightforce 240 blitz and n/m800. The lightforce was brand new with a new red filter, the n/m 800 was with ext tube and two 18650 batteries. The n/m was considerably better both in distance and clarity. The xsearcher is better still. However for white light alone the blitz is still tops.
  18. I would suggest the noise problem more than likely sit's with the sonic mod. I had one on my .223 and to be quite frank it was rubbish. I replaced it with an Ase Utra jet z cqb, different thing altogether. All the gunshops round here have .222 ammo in abundance so no need to reload if you don't fancy it. There is also a good supply of .204 ammo and components for reloading, the parent cartridge of which is the .222 magnum of course. I probably have enough to keep running my two .204's for about 25 years without having to restock.
  19. The howa's are a bit like Remingtons, in as much as you have to chuck half the rifle away and replace with custom stuff to end up with something worth having. First to go has as been said is the hogue stock, nasty horrible thing. Second you will want a trigger. If you where unfortunate enough to have bought a blued version, it will need to be kept constantly oiled as it isn't the best finish at all. If you prefer a detachable magazine that is another "extra". When my Tikka T3 supervarmint was on order and i had got to the nineth month and i thought it was never going to arrive i starte
  20. ........and how many accidents/injuries/deaths do you hear about the .22lr? There was at least one last year if i remember correctly, didn't a bloke shoot himself in the head with one whilst rabbiting.
  21. The video you show is really a lesson on what not to do and is indicative of people buying equipment with no knowledge of what they are doing. The principal of using an electronic caller is to distract the foxes attention away from you. As anyone knows a fox will see movement before anything else, so if you have the caller beside you, you are at a disadvantage.Callers don't need to be 200/300 yds away, between 70 and 100 yds is the right distance. The caller should be placed across the wind from you so that a fox approaching it from downwind does not wind you. Place the caller in posit
  22. 24 calls sounds a lot but it isn't really, i think i have about fifteen different fox calls.
