Ha ha ha..... i once "accidentally" dropped 1/4 pint of maggots in a shop.. it was summer and they didnt take long....picture the scene....hundreds of bluebottles headbutting the windows to get out......ha ha ha.... not that i would condoen this in anyway though....it was funny

had a walk yesterday. managed to bag a credible 3 woodies, 2 maggies and a crow. missed a squirrel, but i know where he is now heres a few pics..... THL thl

i have killed hundreds upon hundreds of woodies by going for wing joint... they drop quickly and cleanly.IMHO.

sounds like you need a bettergun. though if you aim straight upwards the pellets will fly higher than usual. i like my 177's, shot 3 woodies and a maggie yesterday and none were closer than 35 yards...

yes boots i sent a full set of pics down to trev. they were when i used a film camera so i will have to have a bloody good look to see what i have done with them, as i dont keep any pics at my house, they all squat at other peoples!!! lol.. . will be a couple of years ago now. hope you are keeping well. if i dont get back to you in a couple days please pm me to remind me as i got bad memory.

This was the first book i properly read on the glorious poaching life. It conjured up many dreams in my niave mind of legendry dogs and little poaching tricks that could fill a game bag time after time. I atill have that copy here in front of me....its been read to death and i really must buy another when i get the chance. its a first edition published in 1961. mine has the inscription "To My dear Husband Jim from Gwen", so i guess i must have been given it or someone had bought it from a charity shop in the very early 's. I recommend this book to everyone and its one of those books i jus

yes frank....we do our best, but i have a feeling that the "very best" lurchers cannot be bred, they just appear out of the well researched unions at random. we do our best, but i think good fortune plays a major part....sure, best to best may produce all decent dogs, but those that are true "greats" dont come along THAT often IMHO...

its just a bit of fun.....i go to one or two each year to support them and we have such a good laugh. its actually embarrassing to win a rossette with a dog i think as all the mates stood round start taking the p#ss constantly. "Shows" have never ruined a single dog....its "people" that have.....

i have used the longer caps on the single deben ones. the reading were well off, i remember starting to dig on a 5 foot reading and breaking through after about 2 foot! big massive hole for a 2 foot dig. still, i dont use deben shite anymore so its all in the past..... that 2 cap collar was the best deben one i have used and i know my father had many digs with it also.
