  2. This is my old gelt. had it about 18 years now and killed a wide range of tackle with it. i use fishing catapuly elastic because i dont like the really powerful; stuff as i dont think it make a better shot. used to be with me whereever i went fishing and its bagged a few ducks,.geese and pheasants through the head. i just dug it out, looks like it needs new elasitc, but otherwise ok...... brings back memories...

  7. lol..... Ideally Brunette, and not too tall. Nice arse and thats about it. Not big on stick insects, and neither do i like bull elephant seals....lol... being good with the dogs could be a distinct advantage, but i find they all come round to the dog aspect in time...

  11. You will need more light too with the 2X converter. I never shoot my lense on auto with the wildlife, prefer to use manual. I think you loose a stop of light or two with a 2x converter. i used to have one and didnt really like it. better to buy a longer lense maybe. I have an old cosina 100-400 here and its not suitable for the digitals.
  12. Not being funny mate, but i wouldnt buy anything with the Hawke brand name on it. I have tried their products and i think its cheap crap. I just dont like anything of theirs at all.My advice is, if you are not 100%happy with it then send it back and get your money refunded asap...
  13. I am thinking about a 50-500 sigma. get them on ebay from hongkong for about £450 .....but i dont know if it will be dodgy??????
  14. it will fit any canon....mines only a 300D and i will be getting a 400 soon enough...
  15. these little critters take up to 3 weeks to build their nest from cobwebs, moss and lichen, then its lined with hundreds upon hundreds of feathers. Its a work of art. Pity the corvids dont think so. this nest was only 3 foot high right on the foot path but it was predated by corvids. ....shame... also found a greater spotted woodpecker (lower hole). Later i turned up with the gun and took out a couple of chick predators. there will be many more too over the next few weeks.....
  16. its a sigma APO DG 70-300 talk about peice of piss to use!! its very dull and rainy here today but i managed a couple of pics. Christ, i should have invested a few years ago..... they would have been better if we had have had some sun...
  17. Choc's do seem to be the "in thing" at the moment. I bet within 18 months the dog world is awash with"chocolate patts"...wheres theres demand (££££) theres always someone to produce litters.... unfortunately...
  18. Yep....i agree... a male one....can't beat old tadorna. when i used to go out with the fox hounds we use to hunt a large country estate that had a hay barn right next to the main lake. This, i was told, was for the shelduck to nest in nice birds
