far to young and the wrong time of year to be running that type quarry summer time should be about training your pup and building a bound with him
robert
this is part the reason people with lurchers get a bad name people just don't put the time and effort into training them while they are young a lot are locked in a pen till a year old and people don't seem to understand why they are getting pulled round a field by there four legged friend they let it of and it wont come back simply you get out what you put in
I would put up with a half decent lurcher that's well trained than a great disobedient dog that sent you over the edge ever time you took it out but each to there own
robert
I have a lurcher pup here im wilingl to put forword can do all you mentioned don't know if he will preform infront of all the other dog but im up for it
robert
its not a easy game to get into mate people dont trust new faces its just the way things are done now just get out searching your permission for holes then invite one the good lads of here over for a days sport and in time that trust will get build up and then im sure you will get to tag along
good luck in your search
robert
not 100% on this but isnt the elite class for the dogs that have won the racing before,
im near sure its for dog that are breed for racing then your collie x bull x and so on will go into the lurcher class now i could be wrong
elite in my eyes are dogs that are breed for racing your 7/8 greyhound your whippet greyhounds and so on i could say whos dogs will be going in these classes but i would reather not
hope it works out well but i would love to see more for the working dogs like lure coursing long jump and things like that
robert
hope yous where not on any my permision round that pub looks like yous had good day and it good to see lads getting on with eachother instead of all the bitching that goes on
robert
hi mate not meaning to put you of but there is no dout a reason behind why the dog is for sale ive a pup here 8 months old very well trained sits stayes comes back to the whistle lies down can send him left and right and all this with hand signals or voice but as i say he is a pup and has not been entered yet
all i can say is it coming into the summer spend your time wisely training your pup mybe join a dog training club put the time in and you we get well rewarded for all that work and come september give me a pm and we meet up for a spot of lamping
all the best with your new dog
really depens how quick you can run and the amount of land you have permission on good foxhounds can cover miles in the blink of a eye just there on sunday within no time hounds where hunting 8 miles away that was some walk over a mountain to get back in touch with them so if this does nt sound like much fun to you and your not fit enough id go for a beagle type
but if your just looking to flush to the lurcher a springer terrier cross would do the job
but first of all think long and hard about what suits your needs hounds need plent of work
and do you really have the amount of permisi
most whippet lines will have bull blood in it from way back in the rabbit coursing day it shows up in some line to this day more so in some lines than in others
robert
