    so ill tell you some the things i do while lamping 1 keep tight to the hedge so i place myself between the feeding rabbits and there warren 2 when i can i walk into the wind 3 if the dog misses the lamp goes of on till he is firmly in slip again 4 if the dog catches the lamp goes of till the dog retrives quarry and is firmly on slip 5 if im getting over fences or threw gates the lamp remains of i use my own eye sight this is just some the things i do they work well for me

    1 dress well dont show up on there door dressed in tracksuit moleskins and nice shirt tie always looks good 2 speak clearly and politely 3 try find you the name of farmer before showing up at has door looks good when you say are you mr so and so 4 if you have other permission in that area it always help to name drop alittle 5 always leave a card with your name and home phone number on it and then mobile looks good when they see home number on it hope this helps you out abit mate once you get your foot in the door treat the place people and livestock with respect and

    why anyone would have a dog in there kennels that tackles sheep i do not understand ive spent year building up permission building bonds with farmer why would you risk that there should be a law in place where all dogs pet dogs aswell have to be stock trained as only to often you read in the local paper about this type of thing robert

    if its your job then i would say its not such a good thing having a break as the dogs will always be that little bit rusty and take a bit of time to gel again tuesday was my first day out with the hounds after the lay off but would they load up stood there looking at us few more weeks when cubbing starts i hope its a diffrent story robert

    this debate could go on and on as for my views on it i had a whippet dog who grafted very hard for me the first 6 years of his life before he ended up with a heart mumur and fluid in his lungs the vet advised me to put him on meds the rest his life or put him to sleep this dog lived for his work there was no way i was keeping him penned up for him to watch me take the others out hunting so i desided i would take him out lamping a few nights then get him pts but in truth i work him flat out for 3 more seasons after this with out much bother till one that dog looked at me and i just knew it w
