  1. varies between £10.50 / £ 12.50 depending where i get them Cheers Seen as youre in Gwent then Litts were doing them for £20/100 if youre interested.
  2. My local dealer has just had a new batch of winchester ballistic tips and he charged me £22/100. So not too bad it seems, they are the ones my rifle likes it seems so i will just keep buying them whether they go up or not.
  3. its a young woody mate never knew it was that young or wouldnt have shot it it was a good 40 yrd shot was well stone dead so was well cuffed Jason Dont worry they are very tender at that age, nice for a pie or something. Only reason i asked was you aint supposed to shoot the other two! Good Shooting ss06
  4. Is that a rock/stock dove or a young woodpigeon? Good going with the crows, mine are becoming very weary and so im having to shoot them with the HMR, what a shame! ss06
  5. Mine took jst over five weeks, i had the visit two and a half weeks after submitting, and had the cert in about three weeks time. However, it depends on your police force and how busy they are with applications. I know West Mercia are in some cases upto 9months behind, so give your licensing dept and check on its progress. Regards ss06
  6. Yep, its exactly the same not too far from here mate, there was a event a few weeks back where a woman i know quite well, she is happily married with one child, and has been on the waiting list for a council property for around 8 months now, then about two days later, a recent immigrant came into the shop near me and said he had arrived in the UK a fortnight ago, legally to be fair, put his name on the housing list along with his wife and daughter and told me that he had a house in 10 days in a nice part of town, well that was it, i told him about this friend of mine who was born and raised he
  7. All i can say is, if it goes ahead then a free vote may be the answer, but dont be too surprised if things dont go to plan, 'something' will come up that needs more parliamentary time and scrutiny so pushing the Hunting Act to the side. Just have to wait until the Concs are back in power in the near future . ss06
  8. this is what the because bit was in my first post. WELL F*CKING SAID MATE Thanks mate, its all too true though isnt it. It reminds me of a saying' When in Venice, Do as the Venezuelans do!', Now how could we translate this into Britain i wander, 'When in Britain, Do as outsiders tell you to do!', Fair wouldnt you say? ss06
  9. For f**k's sake, the amount of times we hear these politicians going on about tests in Britishness and welcoming people into communities to try to teach them our language and culture, then they go and say a national insitution like the Red Arrows, which they have already withdrawn funding from, is too British, why dont we go the whole way and abolish the Monarchy, tear down the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace, as the government thinks they are too British and the sites would be better, serving as new resthouses for exhausted imigrants who find it hard to live in Britain because it i
  10. Have a recipe for cormorant, anyone interested in trying that, it only takes 2 months to prepare. May end up tasting slightly fishy Anyone?
  11. Yep...I was shocked..I guess you can see why now! Yeah, i can, i think i would be crying everytime i squeezed the trigger and all i got was a small, .224 sized hole in a target, or a large dent in the ground behind the animal i just missed! What ammo do you use for chucking down a range? thanks ss06
  12. So something like 26-30p a shot. Not bad about £1.50 less than a premium factory round in .223 e.g Remington 50 gr Acuutips. On that basis then once youve loaded 3-400 rounds it would have offset the equipment and start up costs. Sounds good to me. Did I miss something here, are you paying in the order of £1.80p EACH for these??? Also, on the other hand remember you can buy CHEAP Factory Barnaul in .223 Rem from the likes of Peter Lawman for £13.95p per 100 Certainly for Remington 50 gr Accutips in .222 they are around £17-18 for 20, .22-250 are around £20-21 for 20.

  14. First of all i have never eaten one, and dont intend to. But i was trained as a sous chef so i may be able to give a little bit of advice. I would gut it first as it eats an awful lot of disgusting things, and does not have a direct digestive system like a woodcock or snipe, which you can leave the guts in. Now from what i can remember, the clay jacket needs to be a centimetre above the the tip of the spikes, this is just at the back of my mind so may be wrong. The clay jacket once dried, will act like bones on meat, help to cook it as the heat travels along them. As for how long it is coo

On that basis then once youve loaded 3-400 rounds it would have offset the equipment and start up costs. Sounds good to me. plus the accuracy factor, makes it well worth it. Yeah, i would like to get everything i can out of my .222, i know it is renowned as a very accurate cartridge so ill give it a go i think within the next few months. Those Remmy Accutips, in my CZ put a 3 shot group under an inch at 100 yrds, but for a former benchrest cartridge, it can g
  16. In what way Ditch? Anyone else on here thinking about trying this dish after the roast on sunday? Thanks ss06

  18. A .22 r/f will quite happily kill a fallow deer, i have the unfortunate knowledge that on one of the large estates around here, that deer are being shot with these guns and the poachers are just taking the bits they want, unfortunate the way that i know of this information but it answers your question. As Deker says, a bullet from a very small and not very powerful gun could and can easily kill when the bullet is sent into a vital area.
  19. That question is lingering in my mind too, as i intend to reload .222, i have loaded nontoxic stuff for ducks and geese for shotguns over the past few seasons and they difference is noticeable not only in price but performance. Interestin to know what others think.
  20. I agree go for both get as much out of one variation as possible.Nice to see another .222 shooter dicky. ive just had mine along with my 17HMR so when i renew i should have open on both, i have mentoring on the .222 for a few months though. thanks ss06
  21. It makes me sick that people will happily shoot a dog of anysort, a dog is a companion for hunting, shooting, at home and anywhere else it goes with you, to treat it just as another animal is barbaric and incredibly short sighted, a dog is loyal beyond belief. They have a big problem with deer poaching on a big estate near me and have had attacks on estate property because managers and rangers have been trying to stop them. they kill the deer with a .22r/f or long dogs, hack off the bits they want and leave the rest. It disgusts me, the sooner they are involved in a freak accident with a fo
  22. Jamie G has given you a good link there, BASC's website offers a lot of information on this subject. Just to clear a few things for you; 1.Yes you need to be 14 before you can have an FAC. 2.You can buy guns and ammo at 17. 3.You can be given a firearm at 14/15. Im not too sure on that one, it is definately either or. 4.As long as you have written permission from the landowner, with his consent for you to use a .22r/f then you will be fine, send this letter or a copy in with your application. As long as you have a good reason for the rifle, i.e vermin. and have a cabinet, somewhere sepe
  23. I saw my first one an hour ago, it swung in front of me while out shooting and pirched on telegraph wires, all on his own, i watched him for 20 secs or so. This is very early by any standards, but to see one this far west so early is quite a feat.
  24. I agree i dont like mentoring myself, id like right now to be out tonight on my own with my .222 chasing foxes but i cant, my mentor is away. You hit the nail on the head, if youre a safe shot, your a safe shot, which is what i was trying to say. So everytime you have had a variation you have ended up with something other than you originally intended? Right pain it seems. ss06
