from just google searching, the PSF and FINITO marks are italian proof marks and the xx9 means it was made in 1973. what type of gun is it, a semi automatic or over and under? depending on what type it is it can be suited to all sorts, an over and under is welcomed everywhere for all shooting from driven game to pigeons over stubble. the semi auto wont be welcome on a driven game shoot but you can use it for almost anything else clays, rough, pigeons etc. thanks ss06

you seem unhappy that you liked it!, the comb can be raised in a few ways depending on how much it needs raising, it can range from stick on rubber of different thicknesses to having a full blown adjustable stock. but as you say it may be just mounting trouble. i hope you get on well with the beretta on wednesday and come to a good decision, the beretta may well do wonders for you and youll soon forget the 525. thanks ss06

Nice Shooting Deker what rifle/calibre are you using? thanks ss06

Deker , sorry to nit pick but isnt Miroku owned by Browning? please correct me if im wrong. i agree i prefer the Miroku to the Brownings even though they are the same company. i shoot a MK38 grade 5. thanks ss06

after the age of 15 you can carry and transport a shotgun unsupervised and use it unsupervised and when your 17 you can buy your guns and ammo. under 15 you can have a shotgun given to you and put on your license but you must be accompanied by someone over the age of 21 when using it. at all times when in the public domain it must be in a secure gunslip or case. thanks ss06 p.s just thought id clarify a few bits and pieces.

i think everyone is confused over this. Kay i was just suggesting a serial killer in repsonse to Ste* but i can see it being truly realistic but who knows anything at the moment. i think it could be a while until any hard facts are known about this. thanks ss06 p.s head down seems like a good idea!

true it doesnt mean that they took there own lives but what else could it be realistically? if it aint there is a serious serial killer around there. can you clarify what you mean Ste*? thanks ss06

i agree with the above, the towns in the valleys generally are depressing and whenever you drive through there it is just the same people doing the same thing day in day out and going nowwhere. really it is no surprise that this could happen in such an area, if anyone who hasnt been to the bridgend area types in bridgend, wales in google images they will see what were on about. dont get me wrong this is a very bad situation to result in but unfortunately not all that surprising. thanks ss06 thanks to tina/kev/sky/ace/tug for their view.

arnt there a lot of these gothy emo kids in wales? there are certainly goths and emos in wales but im sure there are all over the country, but i wouldnt of thought that dressing black and makeup would be a serious cause. but who knows if someone or some people do really get their heads around something like that they may be so messed up and engulfed by it that they follow it all the way. the photos of the kids ive seen dont show them as goths or emos so who knows. it really is a messy and terribly sad situation and as others have said our thoughts should be with those who need it now. t

i have no doubt in my mind that these people are completely and unreservedly terrorists and i stand by comparing them to al qaeda as they both ruin lives and livelihoods. i also dispise and hate the fact that the law lets them get away with so much. if one of us breaks the law, no slaps on the wrist, prosecution is the order of the day and losing licenses etc. they seem to have no common sense or respect for anyone bar themselves, and they sure dont have respect for animals, they must see them as an excuse or scapegoat to hide behind to make their disgusting behaviour seem plausible. i apo

this Sect idea is coming up fairly regularly in all forms of conversation about these suicides. i cant think what sort it would be in that area of Wales to be honest. its not as if they live in societies where these sects are common. any thoughts anybody? ss06

wales is bad eh! what exactly do you mean. i agree there must be a link somewhere, it is only 25 mins from where i am and it seems very strange that all of these kids have killed themsleves within around 20 square miles of each other. and that they all seem to know each other through someone else who has killed themselves. also they are all members of social networks such as facebook and my space, as am i, but i cant see how the police can just push these links to the side. i shoot 1 mile outside the village of where the last girl was found hanged and i went into the local newsagent on sund

the best quote i have heard of these absolute terrorists is that 'they are not animal lovers just people haters' this seems to describe them in their entirety. they are also so stubborn that they cannot admit when they are wrong, look at the Baronsdown estate in devon which is owned by LACS, there are so many deer on the estate that they have eaten themselves out of food and are slowly starving to death not to mention the diseases they have due to overcrowding. last year on my shoot, i was out lamping foxes and found 4 of them trying to vandalise one of the release pens full of birds. a qui

to buy a gun or to buy ammunition you have to be 18 but can hold a cert younger ... sorry hpool_hunter just as a friendly nudge. you dont need to be 18 to buy ammo or guns, as long as you have a valid cert you can buy guns and ammo at 17. thanks ss06 not meaning to be snooty!

from what i can remember, the process of putting a moderator on a shotgun involves drilling quite a few holes in the barrel so that the gases can be vented into the baffles. so whether it is possible to shoot the gun with the moderator removed i dont know, i have shot guns with ported barrels at the muzzle, but they are all neatly drilled in two rows on either side so whether that also makes a difference i am unsure. certainly i have seen moderated 20 bore autos, and also i have seen an advert for people to have their guns moderated. i think it is done by the Saddelry and Gunroom. so my advi

Hi skipster ive shot all three while shooting over the past few years. i must say i dont like the black ice, it felt to me ,who is used to brownings and miroku's, like swinging a drainpipe! but it may suit some. the 525 is a very good gun and built on a very strong and time tested action. this gun if multichoked as you say, could shoot anything from the highest mini clay off a high tower to an ambling crow out in the field. i had a 682e for about six months but i dont really get on with beretta's but thats just personal to me i spose, anyway it was a very solid gun and shot faultlessly f

Help wanted with old .410 Belgian proof mark
SportingShooter replied to comanche's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
is it a s/s hammer by any chance, i have one and am told they were manufactured betweem 1924 and 1939. the mark you think is a cloud i think is a EB mark or something similar.104 is the choke i think full. the others are just indicative marks for the belgian proof house much like ours where a gun goes through a 'view' stage, provisional proof, proof and if desired special proof. my gun has nitro on it and says .410/65mm. i dont think the 12 over 'c' is chamberbut i think from memory it means the pressure it is proved to. i hope this helps, its taken me a few years to find all that out and -
in most cases you have a 6 month probation perid before being a full member but normally they will accept you as a prob member as a novice and will teach you what you need to know once your a full member you can get a rifle for targets and game at the same time they will have club rifles for you to use there thanks ss06
