  1. Heres a couple of pics of one i made myself out of American Black Walnut. It has a pistol grip , and a raised cheek piece and stippling on the fore-end and pistol grip. The length of pull is longer than the standard beech stock (which was a little short for my liking), and a longer fore-end to help guard the filling valve end.I am particularly proud of it because it was the first time i had ever done something like this. I am no woodworker by any long chalk - I just had a go to see where i would end up - proof that anyone can do it if they turn their hand to it! Right butt. Pistol gr
  2. It shouldn't do no, because if they have paid, then it will be Game that they are shooting, not pests, as you will be. Similarly, if you are shooting pests for the landowner, then the fact that you have not payed to shoot game, means that you won't be doing so. And so as you will not be shooting Game, you won't be treading on anyone's toes, and thereby causing any problems. If you get me? Cheers, Grim.
  3. Hope this helps you bud? Regards, Grim.
  4. Aww Hiho, I wouldn't bother - he has already made it clear that this "isn't for the likes of us" ( though if this is the case, I'd like to know who it IS for then? :11:) . . . . don't waste your breath mate Regards, Grim.
  5. LeeGreen, You have PM mate Regards, Grim.

  7. McSparkie, Thank you for your comments about both Timelord and myself - I am just pleased to see that you find our words encouraging, as well as (I hope ) enlightening - that is the main aim of a place such as this! I would seriously LOVE to be able to start up a shop with someone, dealing in, and doing something i like - but alas, i have niether the means or the time. I would have no qualms at all in giving you any advice or help you feel you may need on air rifles, as (i am sure) niether would any of us THL 'regulars'? Carry on enjoying the knowledge base on here - it i
  8. Hey, Chrise69, take a chill pill FFS - all that HiHo was doing was simply making a constructive comment on the inflateable bladder (which, by the way, is made of plastic coated foil ) so there is no need to be blasting him back like that now, is there? Trolls/Flamers/Trouble-makers (call them what you will) are always unwanted in these parts . . . . . It may be of interest to point out that i WAS going to make a comment (as what would have been the first reply here) about it being noisy as well as all the other things you mentioned about it, but am now glad i didn't bother! W
  9. Well done for the info Mal! Regards, Grim.
  10. Woodies are classed as pests, not game, and so no, they don't fall in to that category mate. Regards, Grim.
  11. The heaviest i have used so far with my S310 are RWS Superdomes 8.3 grains - mainly because it is one of four brands that my barrel is ok with, and secondly i haven't found much that's heavier ( .177 cal) in my RFD shop? Regards, Grim.
  12. Jazz, Pest species are valid targets all year round (though obviously, only where you have written permission to shoot on private land) and so they don't have a 'closed' season - they are effectively 'open' season all year through. Regards, Grim.
  13. AWW . . . . Come on D, you gotta give us a link to it pal! Regards, Grim.
  14. Just a few wise (i hope! ) words of advice and warning, which i felt were needed in this case. Regards, Grim.

  16. have a look at the manual http://www.air-arms.co.uk/PDFS/S410ISS10.pdf it does have a 'main spring' but i dont think it has anything to do with power, It does indeed have what could be termed a mainspring, and no, it isn't anything at all to do with power - you are quite correct in this Agrifabs. Regards, Grim.
  17. Yes tom, as Hughesey says, play your joker card (Private Pilot's Licence) and this may well help YOU to set the scene with a landowner. It will illustrate to them that you have the following qualities: A: Persevearance (you don't get a PPL by giving up the game), B: Responsibility (to get a PPL, you HAVE to prove responsibility to the CAA through your exams, intructors and actions) C: Awareness (a very important factor for anyone doing anything), and D: Accountablity - another factor to be thought of as important is that you can be accountable for your behaviour and actions. I think
  18. i will try and dig my pics out from somewhere on my pc and post them as soon as. Regards, Grim.
  19. If you ask me, I reckon you would be just as well off getting an AA S410, and getting a diver's bottle as well - one of the small 300 Bar ones is way good enough for the job in hand. All the best in your thinkings Shooter 08 mate, Grim.

  24. hi, ok for day time and sunny day but no good in rain"steam up", no good under lamp "to blurry". id class this as a hft/ft type scope and the simmons wtc for the little bit more money would be what i would of recomended or bought but thats just me. just my opinion of one i had. I can honestly say that i have never had that particular problem with the above scope that Liam now owns - all i can think of is that maybe the nitrogen had leaked out from your scope? On Liam's scope, the nitrogen port seal is still intact, and so the nitrogen is still in the scope - which will help preve
  25. Not necessarily - you will find that the most popular reason for the power starting at a lowish point and then going up a pound or so is that, when filled to 190 Bar, the pressure (from the air reservoir) against the top hat when the trigger is pulled does not actually allow the top hat to stay open long enough to let the required amount of air pass by it to perfect the shot. On the other hand, if the rifle was filled to 180 Bar, the pressure (from the reservoir) against the top hat is just low enough to let the top hat stay open for that milisecond longer - thereby permitting the metered
