  1. Hello Des, welcome to the club, pull up a chair and enjoy your stay! regards, Grim
  2. I only have .177(legal limit), but that is down to personal choice - i have tried both calibres and have come to prefer .177. My own findings were that firing a 22 was akin to lopping a mortar on the quarry - because of the more pronounced trajectory, whereas the .177 was more of a 'surgical' and exact strike, like - no doubt due to the somewhat flatter trajectory? Therefore, i use this calibre for both task, target shooting and hunting pests. I have managed to slot squirrels, rabbits, crows, maggies etc without fail (mainly head shots only mind, with only the occasional body shot here a
  3. Of course, if anyone DOES decide to use my documents then please can you post back to this thread to let us all know how they have worked out for you? It would be much appreciated by me at least, because so far, i only have my own experience of them as a basis on which to judge whether they are working well or not. Thank you all, Grim
  4. I only let him have a go when i am with him, and like he says, i am teaching him - both to be responsible, and to be accurate. He prefers to only shoot targets (at the moment) because he quite likes the wildlife. I must say that he does seem to have a good eye - the spinner he mentioned is one i made myself and the target area of it is about the size of a 20p bit, and he can hit it all day long down our garden range. Obviously, he uses my rifle on the bi pod and shoots prone, as he isnt guite big enough to hold it freehand yet. Having said that, i don't think he'll be long in getting to
  5. Hi all! In consequence to recently e mailing the above forms to someone, i thought it may make it more easier/usefull for them to be featured on here, so that whoever wants to can use them for their own advantage? If you choose to copy them to your pc and use them, you will notice in the letter i have provided several choices here and there - simply delete what isn't applicable to you. Replace the 'X's with your own information obviously. I appologise for the length of this post but was not sure of how else to do it, whereby the documents can be veiwed and saved by you people? With th
  6. Kipper, You have a PM, and e mail mate. Regards, Grim
  7. Well, my boy is now a member on here - got the e mail thing sorted out! lol His screen name is Blue Dragon, he is 8 years old and is a good shot when using my S310 in the garden. He shows promise and talent - as he gets older and if he chooses to, i hope he will go far in this area. Cheers guys/gals! Grim
  8. Well done son - that;s my boy!!

  9. Well done son - Thats my boy!

  10. Cheers Ian, PM received and understood - thanks for the advice. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread - i haven't explored my ISP much regarding the options of more than 1 e mail address as yet, but I think i will get things sorted in the end! lol Cheers to all, Grim
  11. Hi Kipper, Welcome, i hope you enjoy your time here. Firstly, i have a "permission letter" document, as well as a "grant of permission" document that i constructed which I can e mail to you, if you want to PM your e mail address to me? I have handed these forms both landowners on two of the shoots i now have, and on both occasions the landowners concerned were impressed with these, as well as other bits i showed them when i met them initially to ask about pest control on their land. Handed in two times, both times returned with a positive response - thereby you can say i have had
  12. Kay & AirGunner, Thanks for your replies - much appreciated. I have read and thought about what you both say, and i have come to the conclusion that in order to have a second e mail addy for my boy to become a member, i would have to go and obtain a second account with my ISP, for which i would have to pay. In doing this, i would therefore be paying two monthly ISP fees? Not too sure if i am correct?? I'm not too clever with the intricasies of the e mail side of things! lol Is my thinking right on this thought? Cheers, Grim
  13. I am now a member on here, and happy to be so. My question is on behalf of my son, who wants to become a member on here too in his own name - trouble is we only have 1 pc, and i am already a member on here. Can two different people have unique membership accounts when they use the same pc? Is is possible? I can understand that we will not be usiing the said pc at the same time, but can 2 people have memberships accounts on the same pc? Thats what i would like to know please. Thank you for any help or answers that can be given guys (ohh, and gals! ) Regards, Grim
  14. Welcome, from me (new to the forum, but not the game;) ) to another new member - I hope you enjoy it here. All the best! Grim.
  15. Yeah, i agree. To be honest with you, i don't know that much about them - i'd have prefered the GL's to stay with DEFRA at the end of the day . . . .but thats life! Cheers,
  16. Glad you like I made it myself (first time doing this sort of thing), working at it for a few hours per night on a few nights per week basis after i had finished my day job - it took around 6 months overall, from doing the initial full size drawings, to putting on the final oil coat. I had the original AA beech stock on it before that, but i wanted a genuine walnut thumbhole, and i wanted to make it so it was fitted to me and my requirements, like. With the beech stock, the length of pull was slightly too short for me (i could shoot well enough with it, mind) and when i made the wa
  17. My appologies if this has been done , if it has then Mods feel free to delete it. As you may be aware, wef: 01/01/2008, DEFRA no longer deals with the GL's - they are now being dealt with by Natural England 'Clicky' The 'clicky' takes you to the GL page of the Natural England web site - from there you can download the GL relevant to you, but you will need to have Acrobat on your system to do it. These are the ones that are of use to us, one way or t'other: Licence to kill or take certain birds to prevent serious damage or disease WML Gen-LO5 Licence to kill or take
  18. Hehe . . . thank you for the welcome Stoaty, and I'm pleased you like the 310 - i made the stock you see on that pic myself. A time consuming project, but worth it because the stock is unique to me. Before that, it had the original beech stock, and nice to use though it was, it wasn't what i wanted at heart - a genuine walnut thumbhole. Cheers:)
  19. Yes indeed I do! I'm sure I will like it much more over here - thank you all for the welcome!! Cheers,
  20. Amen to that! There are some nice guys on there, but those who 'fit in' far outnumber them, unfortunately. Cheers, Grim
  21. Hi everyone, New on the block, so i thought i'd introduce meself and all (and please don't all jump on me as i've had a go at my profile as best as i can so far - a bit more to do maybe. ). Where better to start than at the begining - I have (for my sins) been a member of that site since April 2006, and have for a little while now regretted it. It seems that there is no freedom of speech or right to opinion on there, as well as in recent months it looks like every reply i make kills the thread off. Therefore, i have become seriously dis-enchanted on there. I wanted to find a place t
