  1. Hmmmmm . . . . . . DEAD!! Sorry fella, I couldn't resist the urge! Regards, Grim.
  2. You have a PM Sarge, check your inbox bud. All the best, Grim.
  3. Hi Sarge, Assuming you are using something like an RWS SuperDome in 22, in your rifle, then you would be averaging something like around 590-597 FPS, running at 11.3 - 11.4 Ft/Lb? I am guessing as to the pellet type you are using, but i did my calculation using the 22 RWS SuperDome as a pellet type. DJ-N-gage and I are pretty much looking out the same window here i think? lol If you can be a bit more specific as regards what pellet you are using, then i can get a better answer for you mate. Regards, Grim.
  4. A big WELL DONE Sarge - start as you mean to go on . . . . All the best, Grim.
  5. WD40 won't affect the blueing, but it isn't the best choice really - it attracts dust and grit etc. The best thing to use in my opinion is the liquid silicone you can get that comes in aerosol cans - this type of silicone is usually used in woodworking joinery firms as a lubricant on the wood machines where wood is fed into the machine over say, a table or bench. What i have done is to liberally spray a lint free cloth so as to saturate it, with the silicone, and i wipe the blued parts of the rifle over with it. Afetrwrads, when you have finnished with the cloth, simply put it into a s
  6. Sorry buster mate, but the fatal was not under adult supervision - that is what contributed to the comedy of errors that resulted in the fatallity, in my mind? Notice there how i had not said 'responsible' - i deliberately ommited it because he most certainly was not! Mind you, the adult in that case is a bout as useful as a chocolate tea-pot! All the best, Grim.
  7. Funny thing there Mal, but that was my thoughts on the matter too, so you are indeed not alnoe. Regards, Grim.
  8. It is my opinion that the father (the stupid barstard that he is) should now, without excuse or fear, be prosecuted and tried for firearms offences in this matter, as well as manslaughter - he deserves so much to have the whole bloody book thrown at him!! The phone rings . . . . so bloody what!? If my phone should ring whilst i am using my air rifle, I'm afraid that its a case of "oh well, if its important, they will ring back in a minute" - that would give me time to lock it away; or failing that, i would keep the air rifle in my posession while answering the said 'phone call. Its
  9. haha your not wrong there And niether is he alone, i can assure you! (yeah, sometimes i miss* as well ) Regards, Grim. * Well, I wouldn't say I miss Per Se, but more a case of the stoopid rabbitses moving . . . . .or the wind blowing . . . .or the rain coming on . . . . .or my dinner getting cold . . . . . or the price of petrol . . .blah, blah, etc.
  10. Thanks guys for your comments - they are making a difference for the better to Liam's confidence! Thanks again, and all the best, Grim.
  11. Hi mate, If the truth be told, i have never actually used one and so can't help you on that one bud? But I'm sure someone who has experience of them will be along soon. Regards, Grim.
  12. AHH . . . . FECK!!!! Grim.
  13. 'Dead'? . . . . . Someone mention 'dead'?? . . . . . . . I do dead . . . . . . . . .I see dead people . . . . . its me job . . . . . Innit!? lol Seriously though, dead is all you really can say, i guess? With me, i usually say something like "it was dead before it hit the ground" (rabbit or quarry bird on the ground), or "it was dead before it fell off the branch" (squizzer or bird in the tree) - to me, it indicates a clean and rapid death of the target, like? Regards, Grim.
  14. RK and FV: Cheers guys for your words - appreciated! Regards, Grim.
  15. That is so true Celtic mate, he is very keen on the whole lot really - wether its target shooting or as it was today - live targets. He just has the usual boy's interest in all things weapon orientated, and I'm glad to see it so. All the best, Grim.
  16. Aww . . . don't it though! I think you must feel the same about your lad when he's out with you mate? Cheers mate, Grim.
  17. Well done FV, old buddy!! That looks like a reet peice of land mate - methinks you'll be somewhat busy there in the coming months!! lmao I raise my glass to you mate. All the best bud, Grim.
  18. Thanks very much, and will do that Chris. I must say, he has done well for his age - much better than i had at first expected him to. I am very pleased with him and how he is coming along. If he can carry on as he is now, then he will have no problems that i can see, in the future, like. Cheers bud, Grim.
  19. Thanks for the comments for Blue and myself SS.

All the very best bud, Grim.

  20. Thanks very much Jack - i've no doubt at all that now he has tasted blood (so to speak), Liam will indeed want to carry on! All the best, Grim.
  21. Cheers bud, i have no doubt of that at all Mal! lol All the best, Grim.
  22. Cheers fella from both of us. I was a bit like, "what is he thinking of doing - will he/won't he?" like, but then as soon as i heard him stop breathing i knew he hade his choice. I did explain to him about the reflexes and stuff - he seemed ok with that, but he wanted to make sure, and as it was his shot and kill, i let him do the honours. I am absolutely chuffed to bits with him as a shooter and his performance and outlook so far. Regards, Grim.
  23. Andy and Paul, Thanks for your comments and good wishes, i was just sooo proud when he took the shot! Regards, Grim.
  24. Thanks Hpool, and yes, there will be many more days to come - the little bugger has been blessed with permission in his own name at the crem, so he can go everytime i go if he wishes. That boy is so lucky, if he threw a £1 coin up into the air, it'd come down a tenner!! Regards, Grim.
