    Hi Sarge, Assuming you are using something like an RWS SuperDome in 22, in your rifle, then you would be averaging something like around 590-597 FPS, running at 11.3 - 11.4 Ft/Lb? I am guessing as to the pellet type you are using, but i did my calculation using the 22 RWS SuperDome as a pellet type. DJ-N-gage and I are pretty much looking out the same window here i think? lol If you can be a bit more specific as regards what pellet you are using, then i can get a better answer for you mate.     WD40 won't affect the blueing, but it isn't the best choice really - it attracts dust and grit etc. The best thing to use in my opinion is the liquid silicone you can get that comes in aerosol cans - this type of silicone is usually used in woodworking joinery firms as a lubricant on the wood machines where wood is fed into the machine over say, a table or bench. What i have done is to liberally spray a lint free cloth so as to saturate it, with the silicone, and i wipe the blued parts of the rifle over with it.     Sorry buster mate, but the fatal was not under adult supervision - that is what contributed to the comedy of errors that resulted in the fatallity, in my mind?     That is so true Celtic mate, he is very keen on the whole lot really - wether its target shooting or as it was today - live targets. He just has the usual boy's interest in all things weapon orientated, and I'm glad to see it so. All the best, Grim.

    Thanks very much, and will do that Chris. I must say, he has done well for his age - much better than i had at first expected him to. I am very pleased with him and how he is coming along.     Cheers fella from both of us. I was a bit like, "what is he thinking of doing - will he/won't he?" like, but then as soon as i heard him stop breathing i knew he hade his choice. I did explain to him about the reflexes and stuff - he seemed ok with that, but he wanted to make sure, and as it was his shot and kill, i let him do the honours. I am absolutely chuffed to bits with him as a shooter and his performance and outlook so far. Regards, Grim.
