That is correct Midge - 40mm lens is good for the day time, 50mm is better at dusk or dawn times, as it does let more light into the scope thereby giving you somewhaof an improved image quallity. Regards, Grim.

Cobra, Happy New Year to you also mate The question of what pellet to use for your rifle can only be answered by you, really? It is just a case of you experimenting with a few sample packs of pellets, and finding out as a result what pellet your particular rifle performs best with. Now, having said that of course, you will find out that although many people own an AA S410, not all of those owners will be able to use the same brand of pellet in those S410's. I must say, i used to buy them quite regularly, but now don't bother on the whole - as has been said by others theyDO tend to get a bit "the same as last moth" really. "What do you use your air rifle for?" Well, I use mine for shooting the Ephelants out of Cherry Trees - though how they actually get UP there is beyond me?? ephelants are also buggers for leaving footprints in the butter; Those Ephelants that i find in the fridge, i promptly shoot - though it has to be said, i find this an un-sporting type of shot and so don't do it lightly. What i find works for me with the forms is to present them to the person when you speak to them, it gives them something to read which gives them an outline of you that they can digest in their own liesure, kind of thing. That way, they have ( A ) met you in person, ( B ) got a good picture of you from the meeting, and ( C ) they can read a bit of background about you too. I have sent them out when i first started doing it, but have always gone for personally presenting them since i had no joy from the first wave of posting them. This method works well for me. i have tried all diff pellets in it and they no diff at all i have had air guns since the age of 16 and always used what i wanted now adays it seams that you get a gun and have to use what they say this cant be right can it No, it is not right at all - what you need to do is to take no notice of the sales pitch in respect of pellets and do your own bits of research using the testing packs of various pellet makes that you can get specifically for seeing what pellet suits what rifle better way, or indeed the best way. Halfinch, What you have just said is a very good point and observation - they have indeed read the forms if they are saying no, this is at least an indication in the right direction. What i mean to say is that, ok, the landowner may have someone at the moment, but what if that person should want to give up the permission or indeed they could lose it? That is when the landowner will remember reading 'something' and go back to it . . . . TA-DA!! To Peter, Bear the above in mind, and remember this: If there is nothing else, there is always hope. charge ok up to 200 and shoots the same all the time had it on my mates test and shot 50 pelets though it and all the same.First thing is first - try filling to no more than 180 bar and see how you fare then mate;) been on the airarm site and all they say is it needs more pellets in it as its not used lol dont agre with them. they even say im using the wrong pellets but using airarmsAir Arms will only recommend their own brand to you, this is not the best way to go about it. Ok, here's one i made earlier . . . . lol "]Tank and cradle number 1 shot: "]Tank and cradle no 2 shot I made it from left over off cuts from when i made my Walnut thumb-hole stock. The cradle holds the tank securely in the boot, and on the underside are four screws (1 in each corner) screwed to 'only just' come through the bottom by around 1/8 - these dig into the boot carpet and stop the whole deal moving around the boot area. It seems that my thoughts and learnings on the loaded magazine issue have also been used by others, and it was just a reply i made to the original post, and I was just trying to point out the point so that others could make their own way with it - but like you say, never again! McSparkie, None of us are ever to old to learn mate. I am sure that we are ALL learning ALL of the time in here bud - if the truth be told.
