  1. Hi Eagle, I am not sure what you have heard, but alas, I fear that whatever it was, it was not necessarily ALL correct. PCP's can be just as hardy and long wearing as any spring powered air rifle on the market - if looked after correctly - I certainly would not say they were any more delicate, on the whole. My own air rifle is coming up on 11 years old, and is STILL in perfect working order today - this is a testament to how durable they are, I feel. Mind you, I do tend to keep things going myself - as regards the maintainance and upkeep of it. Yes admitidly, a PCP can have le
  2. Slyfox Mal, I thank you! Regards, Grim.
  3. Troutfisher, I will try to give you my considered answers to your queries Q1. If your air rifle is contained within a securely locked gunslip or case, then no,you are unlikely to 'be surrounded' by police. You may well be stopped by an officer of course, but you won't become surrounded by them! The exception to this rule is that if your gun is NOT contained within a securely locked gunslip or case, then you could very well end up surrounded and arrested!! Q2. You will not be expected to show proof of permission on 'common or rough ground' - primarily because you won't generally be
  4. I have no objection McSparkie, its cool - the more people it can help, better for all! Plus, if you have put a link to here, then that is good as well. Having said all that, i would be fascinated to have a look at the site/forum you have posted it on though - my 2 have bikes, and i could always use the info! lol Regards, Grim.
  5. I have been thinking and a'pondering this Shoot More rabbit attractant for quite some long while now, and have come to the idea that maybe it is nothing more than a ickle bottle of (and you ain't gonna like this! ) . . . . . . . Watered down/diluted Rabbit piss! And if my thinking on this is right, and that it is indeed the case of the above, i'll be damned if I will ever put any of it over (A) any of my kit, or (B) me! lol Rather you than me bud - thats all I'll say! All the best of luck mate, Grim.
  6. I have found that when on my S310 the Wierauch mod makes my rifle pretty quiet - all i hear now is the click when a pellet is indexed into the receiver, and then the SMACK when the pellet hits the rabbitses heed! All in all, I have to say, the S310's firing cycle is now quieter than a mouse's fart!! My friend's Falcon FN 19 with a parker Hale mod on, is pretty quiet also - easily on a par with my rifle. Regards, Grim.
  7. I'm not sure if you can get those type of stickers for hearses Suzy - but i will try to come up with something just for you! lol

All the best, girl dear, Grim.

  8. Damn fine to hear you got that result mate With regards to your question, i would zoom right in, and then zero the scope in. Once zero is achieved, if the scope is a good and reputable make, then the zero should hold true. If its a cheap & nasty barstood make, then i reckon you can expect a few probs along the way, like? All the very best (and thanks for posting your results back here ), Grim.
  9. RK old bean! The lad is going great guns thanks mate I find too that zeroing in using highest mag is a good way of getting the zero spot bollock 'on', and also as you say, when you down mag/zoom out, the zero seems to hold true (if its a reputable scope). If, on the other hand, the scope is a bastood make, then you may well get some problems along the way? Hope this helps you guys out a bit? Cheers, Grim.
  10. " Good night Vienna!! " Well done Liam, nice one old son! All the best, Grim.
  11. Guys & Gals, Thank you all for your warm wishes - to say i am touched is an understatement in the least. I didn't know those who held me in esteem were this great in number, to be perfectly honest with you! lol But for that, none the less, i am truly gratefull of being held so. To SS in particular, a special word of thanks for your thoughts, and also for your help - both very much appreciated by me, i can assure you. Thank you, one and all, once again! Best regards, Grim.
  12. SS and Sounder, Class, my friends, Class. Well done to the both of you! Regards, Grim.
  13. Try leaving rifle and scope set-up indoors in even temperature for a day or two - this should dry them both thoroughly, and demist the 'scope as well. "Stupid boy, Pike!!" lol Honestly mate, you should find that tip will work fine. All the best, Grim.
  14. Don't you believe it pal! Might I suggest you try firing a PCP outside without e silencer on it, then try again but with the silencer fitted on the rifle - I know which option you will prefer! If you fire a PCP with no silencer on it, you will find that its almost as loud as a 'powder burner' rifle - the noise from an un-silenced PCP is quite surprising, I think you'll find? lol Regards, Grim.
  15. I know St Mary's Bay well mate. Very nice area - i used to work down the coast from there in Folkestone, and had cause to travel to Romney on a regular basis, in my job. Regards, Grim.
  16. Hello Daniel, and welcome to the site! Please don't take this the wrong way, or take offense, but you might want to put a bit of info about yourself in to your profile - just so people can get to know you a bit better, sort of thing, you know? On the other side of the same coin, by all means get to know us better as well - have a look at some profiles and see what i mean. I hope you take this in the way it is meant - friendly and nice. What area in Kent are you situated in? you may be surprised to learn that there may well be others closer to you than you might think?
  17. Cometa,

I am truly glad I have been able to have been of help to you mate. All the best, and keep going as you are now,

    Grim.

  18. SS, Thanks for being a true friend - i'm suspect you know exactly about what i am talking of . . ;o)

    'CLASS' !!

    Grim.

  19. You most likely wouldn't believe it but i am lucky in that I shoot at a Crematorium local to me. I was lucky enough to have been given permission there because due to the nature of my job, i got to know the landowner/Crem owner very well on a personal level. Regards, Grim.
  20. I think that both words are used in reference to the same thing you describe the highlighted bit above Droid, its just that Silicon is an Americanism, in respect of the way it is spelt? Much the same as we say 'Colour' - whereas 'Color' is an americanism, if you see what i mean. The sealant you talk of usually says on the tube "silicone kitchen/bathroom sealant" - this refers to the fact that the sealant 'goo' (for want of a better word ) contains silicone within it, as one of its constituent ingredients. I believe this is the correct way of thinking, but someone who knows mor
  21. I can fully appreciate that Celtic, and that was why i suggested spraying the silicone onto a cloth (thereby making your own silicone cloth, like) and then rubbing the cloth over the blueing. That way, the spray vapour don't get near the bottles or working parts, sort of thing? Regards, Grim.
  22. No worries chap! All the best, Grim.
  23. Hi Hyper, I think you may have mistook what i was meaning bud? I didn't mean anyone to use silicone lube or owt like that - rather, what i meant was that you CAN use silicone on the blueing (which is on the outside of the rilfe only) itself, but not at all to be used actually 'in' the rifle itself - thats a no no. Wiping the blueing over with a silicone impregnated cloth does no harm whatsoever - Napier and others do sell such a thing, after all. Hope this clarifies what i meant a bit better? Regards, Grim.
  24. I'm sure if truth be told Coney that we all get days like that at some stage or another. I have had several instances where i just couldn't get the shots - but it's not a perfect world though, isit!? Shit happens mate, i'm afraid? Regards, Grim.
  25. Cheers Hyper for pointing me the right way round! I thought about things while reading the posts, and merely sort of started typing my thoughts onto the screen - which is why it may seem a bit funny here and there? lol It would in reality look like i was wrong (or at least as you say, got it put to paper 'the wrong way round' ), but at the time, i felt that what i was writing was correct (at least it seemed that way when i was thinking it)? I have no problem at all in admitting i was wrong mate - thanks again. I don't like giving wrong or misleading information out, and that
