  1. nothing to do with moulting and all to do with leaves on trees, baby bunnies, fledglings still about...........and so on.
  2. just have to say that august isnt the time to be flying birds free..... please be careful
  3. if you are a member of basc, they have an excellent advisory service about taking guns over seas. I work overseas alot and often my OH comes along and brings a gun or two and we always use basc to get the right info and forms and permits arranged. worth every penny of membership!
  4. yes they must also have paperwork (signed cet from the vet who did it) and microchipped. Cant think of a good reason not to do it the legal way.
  5. ive done it as a private arrangement and using a transport comany. I would never do it privately again as the hassle and risks are too great. I now use only one recommended copmany and thats www.ryslip.com. from many years experience I have found them to be the very best to deal with.
  6. we had a load escap a few years back and they didnt survive the cold and rain. personally i dont think they would a) fly enough to shoot (too low) and wouldnt survive in this wet climate.
  7. I bought a number of high end pieces of equipment in the states in the past and when sent over have paid 33% tax on it and eventually it worked out cheaper to get a cheap weekend flight to NY, pick up the gear which had been bought over the phone in advance, and bring it back as my own.
  8. Dont forget this race night tonight. its at the usual TFH show field and starts 6pm. terrier and lurcher racing. Should be brilliant night!
  9. i use falconry telemetry transmitters duck taped onto their harnesses when hunting/tracking.

    lidle mincer

sorry but anything bought from Lidles (apart from their lovely jam!) is going to be cheap and nasty!!! Ive got an industrial mincer you can have for £50 its in Devon.
  11. lovely to see someone who clearly genuinly cares for his dogs as family members.
  12. exactly selwyn!!! use a bit of chalk block to get a better grip if you want....but thats all....au naturel!!!
  13. There are 2 excellentTFH events approaching soon, just outside Tiverton.... OK I know its Devon but its the right side of Devon for Somerset! next Friday is their lurcher terrier race night, loads of racing as well as bbq etc. Then on bankholiday monday its their BIG terrier lurcher and family show.....and I mean BIG!!!
  14. what rubbish, all the traditionally stripped breeds are hand stripped for kc shows and would never be clipped! Personally I handstrip just with fingers and chalk....plenty of chalk is a huge help and can easily be brushed or washed out afterwards.
  15. it usually gives clear indications on the bag and depending on the breed I would say between 12 months and 18 months (assuming beta do a junior diet to move up to).
  16. No i have'nt found him yet,the show is on the 2nd August. Might be worth asking at the Tiverton terrier & Lurcher racing night next wek?
  17. can you use it on collies and humans?
  18. please if you have seen this dog, let us know. click here

  20. shame about the dog, it could have come over on a passport anyway thats another story. we have a lot of eurpoean contacts and friends and they always are fascinated to come and see our hunting here, be it deer, rabbit, or even as last xmas when we took our czech friends fox huntin (well trailhunting but you know what I mean....hunting on a horse with a pack) they thought it was fantastic!! In return they always take us when we visit them!
