  4. use your stop whistle everytime he reaches the point you condider the maximum range, then using hand signals, cast him the other way, until he learns his acceptable range.
  5. Ill be there as well, in Official photographer capacity, taking pix, look forward to seeing you all
  6. Thanks for that....one of the reviews says it contains lovley drawings, which unfortunately I dont seem to be able to see before I pay......but may just take a chance on it and cross my fingers!
  7. Apologies to everyone who has emailed/rung me of late, wanting to book me for their dogs photos at HOW this summer, but due to reasons beyond my control I will NOT BE ATTENDING. Please contact the organisers if you want to know the reason, its out of my hands. I apologise also to all those who were expecting my sponsorship at the same show again this year....again....not my fault, and I had been looking forward to seeing you all there again.
  8. if its anything like my samsung i900-phone (omnia) then its the worst phone ive had ever!!! unreliable, hard to read screen, crap design......hope yours is better mate!!!
  9. Im looking for a really nice Game Record Book as a really special pressy for someone. Anyone know of a good one? I saw one at the CLA with lovely colour illustrations of the game on each page, and hand tooled finest calf binding..... it was way out of my price league (£500!!!) but would like somehting with similar lovely illustrations, but more affordable. if anyone can recommend one id be grateful.
  10. if a pup was "OUT OF" XXX then that means the dam......the sire is referred to as "BY"....so maybe someone is confused and the bitch is called sir storm. Unless these are kc reg names then anyone can call a dog/bitch anything they like and so its probable there is more than one with same name??
  11. in answer to the OP, my concern would be that breeding from a male that lacks drive could just be producing more problems in the future. of course the other thing is that you wont be able to regester thee pups with the KC unless you meet the specific criteria and apply for permission.
  12. many household products ARE NOT SAFE FoR AVIAN USE and if you are going to keep a bird properly you need to learn which products you can use. I use a product called avisafe or otherwise Virkon. Why do you now want to use Virkon??? There are no cheap shortcuts in falconry......only very expensive ones and sadly its the bird that usually pays for it.
  13. at least they health test. thee are plenty of breders who dont. if they were puppy farmers then they wouldnt bother with L2/GHA & HC I take your point, at least they say they health test, but that is undoubtedly a puppy farming operation, whether intentionally or not. The whole site is about puppies, breeding them and selling them. Have just noticed they charge £250 to use their dog at stud, and the deposit on a pup is £200 ........... but they wanted their collars etc off me cheap, am glad I said no thanks. Peddlers!!! well its unlike any puppy farming operation i

  20. ok the parks called newquay holiday park. its near to perth beach (thats the nearest beach to the park) but we will be willing to travel a few miles to get the best fishing/skipper/price. we fish there from our boat most weeks and theres several going out of Port Isaac as well.
  21. Hi the lady who works in our local garage and hs a couple of pet jack russels, said to me today she wants a blue lurcher! she lives okehampton area. Would you sell to a pet(non working but good country) home? if so, let me have the phone number and Ill pass it on to her.
  22. why not write to the editor and tell him your concenrs and make suggesytions....that way theres a good chance you will see the kind of articles you want to see. Much more productive than just slagging it off on here
  23. turning tables a bit but we have our work experinec lad coming in JUly.....not really sure what to expect as its been 15 years since the last one. Ive told him it could either be very boring in the office or we could get some interesting jobs come in.....either way hell have to be here at 5am one of the mornings which might not amuse him so much!!!
  24. it would be well advisable to get that one and the retained one removed when hes about 12-18 months old. Goes without saying he shouldnt be bred from!!
