  1. if you do not know either how or when....then dont attempt it yourself, get the vet to do it when they are 1 day old. watch and learn. it will be money well spend and you wont be gambling with your puppies lives.
  2. dont understand what the police problem is??? if you have permission, and you are not breaking the law, then the police cant touch you. we lamp 3 nights a week on land where we have written permission, never had a single problem in 20 plus years.
  3. report them to doglost, they will get national coverage, with photos for you. good luck
  4. photos would be good....location would be essential!
  5. hibiscrub for cleaning wounds, forceps, staplers and staple remover, cotton wool by the yard and vetwrap. if I can staple it I will, but if more than a skin wound (ie muscle etc) then a trip to the vets. We own a company that sells veterinary skin staplers and its scary what people ring us up for.....one night about midnite this lad rang and said his dog had had an accident lamping and he wanted to know if he could staple BONE with one of our staplers . he got a piece of my mind!!! if you havent used one before then get your vet to show you how. Knowing your limitations is the crucial facto
  6. there was a lady in Luton putting standard poodle to lurcher and getting a reasonable working dog from it. Why do people always think "poodle" = some namby pamby toy breed? Standards are a great breed with good working potential. We had one that was as good as a lab on our shoot.
  7. er no that would be an illegal dog!!!

  10. i use either drontal or panacur.....from 2 weeks old, every 2 weeks until 8 weeks old. then again at 12 weeks and then 6 months then every 6 months from then on.
  11. I give up! Seriously, I've been told things about this litter that means that these pups aren't fine at all: so please stop protecting someone who is refusing to take advice> the internet hides a lot of hidden facts if you didn't know that by now! for once Im agreeing with skycat! These pups are not looking healthy or good and the twit who said people shouldnt interfere, needs to take a long look at those photos, no one could imagine they were just badly taken snaps, jus t look at the lack of bone, coat condition, overall body condition and that tells you everything is not right wi

  13. Shooting times seems to have gone up market recently. So ive started getting the countrymans weekly i find it a much better read, its more of a working mans mag. ditto countrymans weekly. plenty of ferreting and airgunning every week
  14. why is it a disgrace? I just dont get it???? it doesnt look overpriced at 1st glance....why would anyone running a business, employing a number of people, having mega expensive equipment and training and overheads....charge peanuts??? I just dont get it when people moan about vet bills as if vets are robbing them. I regulalry have 4 figure vet bills at the end of the month......if its 3 figurs im laughing! I dont resent it, I have a 1st class vet at my disposal 24 hours a day and I value his many years experience, training and dedication. he also has to make a living out of it, like we all do!
  15. :icon_eek: inherited epilepsy has nothing to do with inbreeding....if a parent has it then chances are it will carry....regardless of how closely bred they are. Dont know what part of the world you are in but pesticides and brain worms?????
  16. if he chages his mind let me know as ill have it
  17. its very possibly an epileptic fit. this is often hereditary or can be caused by a trauma or inbalance, or many other reasons. If they are a long way apart like yours have been so far then I wouldnt medicate. however if it happens in kennels amongst other dogs theres a good chance it will be ikilled by the others. You may want to consider individually housing when unsupervised. if the seizures get worse, more often, stronger then you may have to consider an epilepsy treatme, a daily medication but its not expensive. unfortunately sometimes they cant be stabilised and grand mal fits can lead to
